I flashed Insertcoin - 1.08 (A2SD version) yesterday and today a new version of the ROM is available (1.0.9). How do I update?
I have flashed A2SD version; so how do I know that A2SD is working?
Hi
I would do a full wipe, and then apply the 1.0.9 with the recovery.
to check if a2sd is working see this tuto

I had followed that tut earlier but it says "A2SD not found"
Don't you think that the tut is for DarkTremor script? Does Insertcoin use DT?
I don't know if insertcoin uses DT. I've searched in the insertcoin thread and found nothing about it.
Maybe you can try with quick system info from the market.
You should have a A2SD storage line which shows total and free storage.
Since It has been updated to AceS 2.50 - you need a full wipe.
And No, Insertcoin does not uses DarkTremor's script - uses MCR (as I can recall).

I tried Quick System Info and it shows 0.98GB of Total A2SD Storage. Free:605 MB
But how do I know that apps that I install are going into SD? The internal storage space is consumed whenever I install any app.
I've read in another thread (don't remember which one), that apps are using a2sd storage, but data apps are still using internal storage. Thats why it still decrease when installing new applications.
Try deleting some data apps, without uninstalling apps and check internal storage again

Hi,
I'm a desire user running on the cyanogenmod 6.1.0 stable.
I know that the ROM does not support apps2sd so i know i have a smaller limit on how many apps i can install using froyo's app2sd.
right now i'm just using froyo's apps2sd and have 39 apps total which is approx 83mb.
So i'm wondering what is actually using all my space on my internal phone storage? Is there a way to check this using adb and if so, how?
I've used an app called Quick System Info Pro which shows me the following:
SD Card
7.48GB , 7.00 Free
A2SD
103 MB , 40.58 Free ???? <--- i don't have a2sd script installed, and also don't even have a second partition on my sd card. what is this 103mb total and 40.58mb free referring to?
Internal storage
148mb , 29.59mb free <--- like i mentioned earlier i have approx 30mb left
System
250mb , 130mb free
System cache
40mb , 22.50mb free.
i know i can just install a2sd but i just want to know what exactly is using up all my space? (can i use adb to check each directory/folder on my internal phone storage, and how?)
Probably your cache. Try to wipe cache then see if you have more space.
i already wiped dalvik cache and the regular cache
Try DiskUsage from the Market

I believe Cyanogenmod 6.1 supports apps2sd,and it has the option listed under application settings.....just check it up
Why not check via application management in the standard setup menu? There you can just go to all applications and sort them by size.

its not actual apps2sd though, some stuff still gets stored in the internal. Widgets won't work if i store on sd. Are you sure it supports apps2sd? then i can just create a ext partition on my sd, will it work though?

it only shows the apps, what about other files thats not listed in there?
Besides the apps there is not that much on the internal memory. If you don't have that many apps installed, Gmail, facebook, maps, contacts or normal mail will probably take up most of the space.
I'm not familiar with CM so i don't know which A2SD they use, but even with A2SD+ (which requires the ext partition) some part of the app stays on internal memory, however it does not affect widgets or any other app when you mount the SD card. Not sure if you can enable A2SD+ when the rom is already installed, i always have the ext partition before flashing.

apps2sd as in the froyo 2.2 one?
and yes i'm using cm 6.1's apps2sd then, but even though i moved all the apps that i can to the sd(some apps i cant move to sd) i'm still low on storage, down to 29MBs.
Try darktremor's a2sd, though dalvik caches are still on my desire, but i can install alot more apps than the usual cyanogenmod app2sd

Hi,
I am new here, sorry for noob question.
Recently I have flashed [ROM-GingerBread] Ginger Villain 0.9 with A2SD+ feature.
Before installation I did full wipe and created new EXT partition on my 4GB SD card with ROM manager (Size: 512MB Wipe:0MB)
After few days from flashing I have installed several applications from Market. Today I have tried to install another one, but no success. It shows me internal memory running out of space. So installation has failed.
I am not able to install more apps anymore. I don't understand it! When I run Quick system info it says:
A2SD storage - total 457MB, Free 342 MB
Internal storage - Total 148MB, Free 13,69MB
Where is the problem? Why is system installing apps to internal storage and not to A2SD storage?
Could somebody help me?
Thanks.
Read up on how A2SD+ works. Either use search or start here.
I have the same problem with Leedroid 2.3d
A2SD+ but internal memory is running out of space and ext has about 300 mb left
Please help

So basically if internal memory is getting low, the cache is the culprit?

Most of the time, yes.
I recently installed InsertCoin's CM7 HBOOT/STOCK 1.1.1, after installing my internal memory has become really low and i only get 120mb of ram when i got 220mb on the official 2.2. I have partitioned my sd card using gparted. I made a normal fat32 and a EXT4. Do i need to make a EXT3 partition? also how would i know if the apps are on my sd card since i cannot move them manually with application manager. Please can you help me. Thanks

do i have to move the apps to the sd card with the application manager because after installing less than 15 apps i get low memory notifications, i had like 40kb internal memory. Using the System Info app i can see that my ext4/a2sd is being used.

How big ist your ext 4 Partition?
i made a 2gb etx4 partition using gparted. I think the apps are going on to the ext4 partition from the memory reading on System Info but im still getting low memory notification

how would i move the dalvik cache. Also if i use the A2SD+ version of the rom, would i install it exactly the same as CM7 or would i have to do something different pre or post install?
SOLVED!!!!
i flashed the CM7r2 hboot from alpharev.nl by downloading the hboot, naming it PB99IMG.zip and using clockwork recovery to update the hboot. then i installed Insertcoins 1.1.2 rom.
WARNING!!!!
FLASHING A NEW HBOOT WILL MAKE YOUR OLD NANDROID BACKUP REDUNDANT, YOU CAN ONLY USE ROMS WITH CM7
I'm running the a2sd+ version of the latest Miui XJ rom.
In the beginning there were no issues but today I tried installing/upgrading a few apps and I'm getting the "not enough space to install this application" error.
Even though I have:
+300MB of 2,73GB left on my SD card,
A2SD: 880MB of 940MB left
Internal Memory: 210MB of 291MB left
System Storage: 14,59 of 145MB left
System cache 3,46 of 5MB left
Memory 196MB of 406MB left.
I had to manually move the installed applications to the SD disk.
I was under the impression that when using the A2SD+ rom that it did all of this automaticly.
What is wrong with this rom or a2sd+?
I also tried the following (from the Miui-XJ thread)
- Type su
- Type a2sd zipalign
- Type a2sd cachesd
- You may even need to do a2sd reinstall

And what happens?
Did you do "a2sd reinstall" ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
yes I did an a2sd reinstall as well. I'm still getting the disk full error.
How many apps you have installed?
I don't know the solution but I have/had the same issues.
Until now a simple reboot fixed it all the time for me...
Would be nice to know what's causing it though.

I have 23 apps installed.
Wipe, reflash, reinstall, cachesd, try again?

Try a2sd reinstall, reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik cache and boot.
I installed the X-PART version now and everything seems to be ok now, Apps wise.
Hi,
I run Leedroid HD V3.3.3. (Android 2.3.3), with Data++ so I am S-off have reformatted my NAND memory (CM7 Hboot I think) and 1GB EXT partition on my SD card.
So the point is, I should have more then enough space for apps and stuff. But I keep getting the message "phone is getting low on storage". When I go to "settings ->manage application". I see 267MB used, only 20MB free.
But when I add the apps I have installed, there is no way I have 267MB worth of apps installed...
I already tried clearing cache partition in recovery mode. And also tried to clear browser cache and history.
I searched google and found a lot of people with similar problems, but no real fix anywhere...
Can someone help please?
Grtz
Download diskusage app and check. Your app data is on /data so it is not that hard to fill /data partition on CM7R2. I have roughly 50mb free.
So how can I fix this then?
You can also check via Titanium Backup menu (app usage or sth like this), the best method is changing version of hboot (if Your ROM support other hboot!) or delete items which You don't use, move some apps to SD (if You use ROM in which we can move apps) with APP2SD app

have you read through all of the FAQ for that rom, i found it very useful
it's likely you're running low because of dalvik cache on nand by default, you can move it to sd via a zip from that post. I used to run that rom, had plenty of space with cm7 hboot and dalvik on sd.

i agree, deleting unused apps is often the easiest way!
but no, no need to manually 'move to SD' with this rom, keep everything on 'internal', then apps will be moved to the partition by default.
(you can move to sd, but then you're using the FAT32 partition of the card, hence wasting the partition)
Check if you have correctly installed D2SD script.
Probably you have to move dalvik cache to your SD. I have a different Rom but had the same problem, moving dalvik cahce fixed it for me.
thanks for all the replies,
sorry I kinda lost eye of this thread (because it's my brothers phone)
but I will definately try to move the Dalvik to SD, hope that works.
Greetings
try a rom with amarullz's AD2SDX, like Runnymede AIO - by sebastiaan15
before i only had 15 MB free (had to deleting randomly some apps), now 340MB free (same apps installed).
must by s-off and an CM7r2 HBOOT
Moving Dalvik to Cache with the script from Leedroid's topic worked like a charm,
thanks everyone.
Grtz!
