NON STOP force to close after installing myVision RC3.1 - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

well i tried to install that rom its really sexy and i really liked it
but after restore through titanium then rebooted but i got a force to close after reboot
ive tried everything this is driving me crazy
i was wondering if anyone else is having the problem
help me please or i guess im ma go back to CM7

What did you restore from Titanium Backup? If you restored "system data" thats probably the problem. You should only restore "apps + data". Even this can cause some issues with a few apps.
Also, you should run a fix permissions in ROM manager and do a reboot, that can help.

Thank you buddy.

Unable to install apps from market or restore from Titanium Backup

Every app I attempt to installed or update, I get "download failed". Many of my apps also wont restore using Titanium Backup.
This has happened to me once before and the only way I could fix it was to wipe my data and manually install each app.
I suspect something got corrupted with the apps2sd.
What's really weird is that things were ok for a few days after installing the new rom (Azrael 3.1).
(I started a thread about fixing the "invalid installation package" and things were working for a little while after that but bow nothing will update).
I've searched the web and tried everything I could find without any luck. Any help is appreciated.

skyraider 3.5 Force close all aps

Rebooted the Dinc and then as all apps started all had to force close.
The only thing that fixed this was to revert back to a recovery backup.
Anyone else seen this happen?
Did you restore apps by using Titanium Backup, and also restore data?
If you did then that's your problem, you're not suppose to restore data of the apps
Also try going into Rom manager and running "fix permission." That fixed the problem for me.

[Q] Rom Toolbox Restore question.

I bought Rom Toolbox because i read u can backup and restore apps without problems but thats not the case with me. I backup all the apps fine then i would go on to flash xROM now i wanna restore the apps.. but when i do it always hangs on a random app every time. I can restore each app individually but never batch restore...also for some reason it wont restore data like my dolphin browser i have some bookmarks and stuff n i restored with rom toolbox and it restored the app but not the bookmark n stuff i had on there. Does this mean im doing something wrong? Or is there an option i need to turn on.
Nope, I had that very issue. My guess its a app bug that they haven't fixed yet

Oh so im not the only one with this issue... hope someone can shed some light on this.
Been thinking about purchasing the app.. Free version works fine for me but from what I see this could be a deal breaker.. For now anyways since I do batch install with the free version with no problem.

Just used an older version and it works fine

I occasionally have that problem with titanium backup with a random app, but never any issues with Rom toolbox..
Ok could having both tb and rom toolbox be the cause? Or should i try an older version? If so which one?
Ok i found out Rom Toolbox backs up my app but not the data. Now when i batch backup data for some reason it hangs at a random app... also when i wanna batch restore app + data it hangs also. If i try to restore a single app it does that fine but it won't restore the data with it. If i try to restore the app with data it just hangs... so I'm not sure what's the problem.. tib does not have this problem but i heard its not good to restore data on ics with tib. Anyone else experience this?

go to titanium back up...when you back up apps...it asks you...app only...or app + data... and it does the same thing will hang up on a random app...
Just did it and it did not hang unlike rom toolbox which hangs everytime.
I had to go into system settings -> Applications -> Development and check "USB debugging". Rom Toolbox wasn't restore apps before, but is now restoring them after I checked this option. The description that pops up when you check it says it allows apps to be installed without the users knowledge.
Rom Toolbox uses silent restore in it's batch mode so you don't have to tap "install" and "done" for each app that's restored, so USB debugging is important.

I had the same problem, and USB debuggig worked for me, so thanks! Great advice!
Also, I'm on a Cyanogen based rom and I had to disable "verify ADB installed apps" to get it working...

[Q] CM 7.2 check. GAPPS check. Restore data- Kookoo for coco puffs. Help? :(

I have never been one to make an "oh my god help me" thread on a site like this. I thought I followed everything as it should have been done. But apparently not. Here's my story.
Flashed over CM 7.2 and the install went perfectly. I installed Google Apps and everything was fine. I then wanted all of my backed up apps and data back. So I went into CWM and told it to restore data. I rebooted, and dear god, everything is crashing. I get 15-30 force closes right off the bat, ADW is crashing, and things are going batcrap insane. Any idea what I did wrong or how to fix it? Thank you so much in advance for anyone with some wisdom on this topic.

I would start fresh again and use either TB or MyBackUp Pro, I use MyBackUp Pro and love it simple ui simplicity, restores apps, data including settings, sms, mms, contacts, etc....

Thanks for the super fast reply! Do you think I need to like... start OVER over? I guess this is a rhetorical question... I'm gonna wipe data and cache and whatnot, and restore data again before even rebooting the phone. I may have confused it by registering Google Play and downloading a couple of apps (Rom Toolbox and My Backup Pro) before restoring my data. Maybe I confused it... I'll report back my findings for anyone in the future who encounters this issue.

No but ODIN does help re fresh everything but not needed you can just wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset. And start from there.

Thanks for the help and suggestions! I fixed it. Factory reset, cleared cache and dalvik, and used Titanium to restore everything app by app. My Backup Root didn't work as well, since I couldn't go piece by piece. Thanks again, everything is working perfectly and I now know the joy of my first real ROM

What do you mean piece by piece?
The way I do it is install my backup and save the apk version so when I restore phone I download a file manager install and restore apps. When you backup apps you just save it as apks only. And save data and it restores properly. But whatever haha.

Well, it let me decide exactly which apps to restore, since I guess I had backed up so many times that I wouldn't have even had room... It allowed me to go app by app and decide which ones to restore, along with the respective data, as well as doing all the system data at once. It was really quite nice. But I was being stubborn and thought for some reason restoring from CWM was the best route, so thanks for the redirection
Your mistake was restoring data from a nandroid (CWM). It restores system data as well. Unless it is a known good nandroid and basically the same firmware (ie. Touchwiz EL30 to Touchwiz EL30, CM7 RC2 to CM7 RC3) you should not use that to restore data. Glad you got everything working again.

apps suddenly force closing

Hi guys
I rebooted my note 2 and somehow found myself on the setup screen(the one which we run on firstboot).
After that, many apps stared force closing.
Im running stock rom with kernel note2core asylum.'
Please help
If you have titanium backup, try "fix permissions".
I think it's also in your recovery too from memory.
Edit: I just looked and couldn't find it in titanium...I could have sworn that it was there before. I use TWRP and it's definitely there.
