Introducing Forum Specific Mod

Hi everybody,
Let me introduce myself. I'm M_T_M , your new forum mod for the HTC Desire HD.
I've been on xda-developers for over a year now. Mostly visiting the devices I own and supporting other forums with the experince I've gathered on this great site. Maybe some of you have seen me lately in the forums helping a little.
Now, I'm happy and honored to be appointed to the HTC Desire HD forums to provide mod assistance to all of you in the best way I can to this great community.
I'm here to help you and I expect the same from all of you .
If you experience any other way of approach from members, feel free to contact me through PM, or report the post by using the "!" button in the post.
Additionally, I want to let you know that I'll be doing some forum maintenance (cleaning threads addressing an already discussed topic or an off topic, moving threads or posts to proper sections) for making it easier to all of you get the information you are seeking and keeping the forum clean.

great, getting my desire HD tomorrow so will move to this forum and visit the others on a needs must basis. good to know we have a Mod in the forum to keep us in order.

Appears a fair few got moved into the wrong location, en masse.
I managed to get a copy of the logs of what got moved, and am returning them just now

can we have a question and answer sub-forum like the standard desire please? the general forum is getting cluttered with FAQ's.

I'll ask Mike or Svetius. Till then, please bare with us.

I just wanted to post a general thanks to everyone. This site has been instrumental in helping me along the way to understanding Android, my smartphone, and how its' dumbuser is attempting to change things just a little bit better. Just wanted to add to what stalintc said, this site is definitely one of THE best of all websites! This website has by far made my boring old HTC Touch HD into a super awesome machine capable of anything! (well not ANYTHING - but you know what i mean).

Welcome I agree this is a great place with tons of great info. It has helped me get my Captivate going at least 5 or 6 times so far when I thought I had bricked it

Thanks Superchunkwii.....your step-by-step guide was awesome. I was previously rooted and on SC 2.9 w/ EC01 radio but decided to go back to stock and get the OTA programming. After that, it wouldn't let me root using the methods I had used in the past (when I came from stock 2.1 a few months ago). This method allowed me to FINALLY get back to a rooted phone so I could get back to experimenting with various ROMs. Thanks again!!

Thanks for posting this thread! Gives us new posters a place to post, so we will eventually be allowed to post on the other threads!

- Be able to use adb and gather CLEAN logcats
- Be able to speak understandable English
- Be able to communicate with me well
- Not be a jerk, and actually help me if I provide you with a ZIP.
If you'e interested drop me a PM or just post on this thread, I'm only really looking for 3 people max. Don't come to me if you don't meet the above.

This is ROM Development, as I need developers to test. I'll PM people when I've actually built the ROM and I can upload it. I have exams and other (more important) things to do than listening to your smart ass comments.

So focus on exams.. . Who tells U to post... There is already one post on project llama...
.... dont flood the dev section... U got more post than any other users I think (currently 3 on front page)... most of them are promises...
Edit: So U need devs now??? But op says something else... Lying is bad habit,,, You lied twice... U said U were sending links,,, But u sent pm... About if know to use adb... And now saying U need dev... May be thats ur definition of developer.. LOL

I said developer because not many others know how to use adb correctly, adb may not be needed for cooked roms like your own. It doesn't matter if there is already one post. There is more than one post on Cyanogenmod 10 on XDA is there not?
I haven't had time to BUILD the rom yet... As building compiled ROMs can take hours on some machines, and I don't boot into Linux every day.
This thread will also be used to hold the finished ROM thread. I know that you personally don't make any compiled ROMs (if thats because of your limits as a 'developer' or a time limit is another matter) but I can assure you that it is a lot harder than you think, a lot more work is involved than simply opening up dsixda's kitchen and zipping up something.
Can I also remind you that I don't have this phone, and allowing you to test early is (imho) a very generous thing to do, as I could drop msm7k and the Wildfire S and save a lot of hassle and time playing around with it's tree to get it to work with Project Llama.
I would make it open testing, but (no offence) you people are so dumb in this forum it's unbelievable, the number of PM's asking if WHATEVER2SD, FUBAR2EXT or something similar worked would mostly go beyond the hundred barrier.

EDIT: I've had enough of this ridiculous user base, I'm closing this thread, anybody who wants to test Project Llama and meets that please drop me a PM. (OliverG96 is the only guy getting one atm)

Suggestion to add to the XDA site.

I think this forum is the greatest for modding our phones. Many thanks to all the developers and the XDA staff!!!
I am still a noob even after 2 years of reading and installing some of the customizations on this forum. Some of the threads I read through need a lot of clarification. Most of them just assume everyone has knowledge of what to do and write just a minimalistic install forcing anyone without such knowledge to ask questions like, How, therefore getting snide remarks added to the posts unnecessarily.
My suggestion to you, XDA, would be to add and sticky a glossary and description of the processes that are needed and have to be performed thus eliminating the recursive and negative posts others likely post about noobs. All they have to do is point such a person to the correct link, the glossary.
I have searched through this site looking for such and all I could find was a single thread asking the same.I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

Some kind of section for "how to" in general would be nice.

That link doesn't provide anything. It's cluttered.
My suggestion is a single post so a user doesn't have to go all over the net (Google) to find something he isn't sure the editor/poster has efficient knowledge of. Such as, if I said to you I know how to tear your phone down and put it back together, would you trust me?
Just an example;
Android
is a Linux-based operating system designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers
Flashing
is also referred to as reprogramming.

I'm sorry, and I give you all of my condolences, but I think that edisile means that the XDA Forums aren't really the place to air grievances, especially with all of the effort put in to make it exactly what the forums needs to be about: development. I truly do feel sorry for you, and I hope everything works out, but I don't believe there is a proper thread for this to be posted in.
