[Q] Music App - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looking for a good music app for my HTC Evo. I'm not a huge fan of the stock music app. I use btunes right now, however it's been lagging and not that great. I would really like something with a setup mocking the iphone. Not a fan of the iphone, but the music player was nice. btunes mocks that but it's not that great.
Thanks.

PlayerPro=paid
Amp=paid
Winamp=free
via EVO.

You should try out uber music.

I was using winamp and loved it. The only reason I use I don't use it is so I can access the google music beta library, which is also a nice player imo.

I'm using CloudSkipper and i LOVE it.

+1 for Uber music. Not sure if there is an iPhone skin, but I don't doubt there will be one if not at the moment. Fully skinnable player / widgets. Just hit the Market yesterday.

What Music App are you using?

I was curious to see everyones music app of choice is? I've tried em all except winamp and slacker radio, but I think I'm gonna go with PlayerPro for a while....I love having the lockscreen widget back!!! (Missed that from using it on MIUI on my OG Evo) Anyways curious to see what everyones app of choice is!
None of the above - jetAudio Basic
I use Amazon MP3 which is not listed above.
Player pro. The gap less playback alone makes it worth using. Also the developer is friendly. We spent about a month fixing the blue tooth track display after I emailed him. I was very impressed at his level of support.

Apollo.. thats where its at
stock TW app. or google play music for my music on cloud.
I like the stock tw music player. Basic, but functional

doubletwist, which isn't listed.
I like the stock on the SIII simply because it has the Cover to Pause feature.
That feature has been awesome to me especially when driving and I have to pause a song, I never have to look at my phone.
I do still like Google Play Music App, gives me access to a bunch of songs that are streaming off my cloud.
If only there was an app that had Cover to pause feature and the ability to stream music off of our Google Music accounts... :cyclops:

I agree 100%, best music player out there imo
Google Music for me
I like doubleTwist since I'm able to sync it with my desktop version and transfer and manage songs just like iTunes.

I really like the default samsung player. Its got the flawless notification/lockscreen integration and it recognizes all my music correctly. There's maybe two or three features that I look for in a player that this one has all I need. My only problem is that it chugs when I scroll through my music quickly (25gb of songs on a class 4 card will do that though, sadly). I've tried a whole bunch with fancy interfaces, but they always give me a reason to go back. For example, I tried xenoamp after the reccomendation above and I was really excited for it, seemed like it had a cool interface. But no shuffle all? And after I got past that, the rest of it felt like an alpha with a lot of features (like editting tags so I could fix all of the songs that it randomly didn't recognize) simply not working.

I really like the stock music player, but it's constantly losing my position in tracks when I pause... I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and if I pause mid-track, if I come back an hour or two later it's lost the position, starting the track over. If I wait more than an hour or two, it often forgets what book I'm even on, and will just show my library.
This is with absolute minimal use between, checking gmail once or twice and a text or two.
I use either Cloudskipper or Doubletwist, take your pick
I have used Mixzing for the past two years.

What's your preferred music player app?

Topic. I'm using the default one for the first time since I've been using Android. On my evo epic 4g and 4g touch I always used player pro but since owning the s3 I don't feel a need to use a after market one unless someone ports over the xperia music player with working widgets.

+1 for poweramp paid. I don't buy many applications but Poweramp was the one of the first i paid for. And I'm soo glad i did.:laugh:
I used the built in player for a few days, but I saw no means to retrieve the correct album art, and lol that annoys me when my music shows the wrong art, so I started using power amp paid version :good:
Now you guys wouldn't happen to be the developers of this app hmmmmm? lol

This kinda moves the original question into another area, but how do you keep the ring tones saved on your phone from being played via the music player? I'm at the point now that I do not save music on my phone. I just stream it from my cloud. Thanks.

Most music players allow you to select which folders to add to your music library. Although others scan the entire device for sound files.
I like the option of storing files local. Works great for subways and airplanes.

I do as well. I just don't like the fact that some of my ring tones are mixed into the music player. Does poweramp allow you to choose the folder?

I've been playing around with Music Player (remix) lately. Its still fairly new on the Android platform and the dev has some bugs to iron out, but the menu system is incredible. Almost everything is accessible from swipes left, right, up. $5 is a bit steep, try out the demo you might just fall in love with it.

have you found a way to fetch the correct album art with the tw music app?

Music Player?

Hi all.
What app does everyone use for music? I have been using Google music. But I made a discovery today that almost gave me a brain aneurysm. It reconverts ALL my music to 256kbs mp3s even mp3s.... Even worse CBR.... I won't rant. But I want to stop using it. So what is everyone else using? I liked apollo but the whole album art download for me thing was annoying...
I use stock or nex player. Stock is quite nice in my opinion

I've been using a little folder-based player called Hikiplayer for about a year now. I don't like players trying to reorganize my music, download album art, force me to use playlists, or any crap like that so it's perfect for me.

Best Music Player for Android

I'm currently using Double Twist music player.
Any suggestion of good music player since I'm a music lover?

But I use winamp.
one thing I noticed though is that when I tried to upgrade to kitkat (aosp), I could use it (was gone from the store - probably not compatible to kitkat).
GoneMAD music player if you are looking for extremely customizable music organization and UI. Not as many of Neutron's bells and whistles, but it does have Dashclock Widget integration.
for now i think poweramp is the best..

Google music just came to canada, I love it! Otherwise I used Songza for the longest time.
Another +1 for Google Music. I subscribe to Google Play Music All Access. Anything that isn't in the library, I'll upload from my computer. I keep all my playlists on my device.
I switched from Spotify when it Google Play Music All Access first came out. Unlike Spotify, which limits you to 3,333 tracks stored offline, you can store as much music as you can fit on your device. If I store all my playlists on my device I've got something like 50GB of music.
Google Music.
