gapps - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm using RUYMANCA MOD v7.2 cm7 based..what version of gapps should flash, same as for cm7?
Sent from my Wildfire using XDA App

No one knows?

Obviously it will be the one for CM7 - i.e. if it doesn't have GApps already inbuilt. Its not as if there are "other" GApps anyway for Gingerbread.

I mean to ask is there a diference betwean flashable zips of gapps, for varios of ROMs or its like one for all gingerbread ROMs?

AFAIK, It's the same thing.

http://goo-inside.me/gapps/
i think i used the "universal" link on mine and that worked perfectly.
I downloaded another one before that and it caused CM7 to stay in the bootloop and I had to reflash the ROM, so not all work perfectly on the wildfire, but the universal should

[Q] Flashing new Kernel on my current costum ROM

Hello!
I am a bit of a starter about flashing ROMs and stuff so i want to ask you guys the following..
I learned alot about ROMs and their costum kernels but nevertheless, i havent heared anything anywhere on this forum about flashing another kernel on a different ROM.
What i mean is, is it possible to use RCMix3D 1.6v KINGDOM ROM and flash another kernel to it..like this one? Could there be any problem afterwards? Wifi not working, or any other bugs?
I thank you for your answers in advance!
Hi,
you got answer in question.
yes it's possible and yes you can have trouble like nomore wifi.
But it can also improve (really really really) speed and battery life...
There is no really problem to flash a other kernel with differents rom.
JUST to a NANDROID BACKUP and try!
Yes sometimes kernals and roms don't play nice with each other. So make sure to do a.nandroid.
The kernal you linked to is for aosp roms, so its not compatible with sense based roms. You can try leedroids newest kernal
No hay de queso no mas de papa
There are only a few roms that play nice with Capy's Rom, It is using (by default) an earlier version of M deejay's Rom (not the latest v1.0 unity kernel)
But other kernels such as Buzz OC/UV, even LeeDroid's
I personally use v23 of m deejay's Kernel
These are confirmed working. I dont know about others.
Well, thank you guys for those answers

So actualy i've made a little "research" and is it possible that RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.6 is now using the newest MDJ Kernel? As it is written in my SetCPU application, the current Kernel that i am using is "Linux version 2.6.35.13-MDJ V23 .. and so on.."(and i did not change it) so the numbers match those from Unity V2 Kernel from MDJ.
Edit:
If i correct myself, RCMix3D K. v1.6 is using v23 MDJ Kernel and not Unity v2
I just flashed Unity v2 on RCMix3D and its perfect

[Q] Difference between runnymedemod and runnymede AIO

topic says it all... can anyone highlight the difference between the two ROMs as I'm planning to flash one of them...
After runnymede , he changes their name to AiO no big deal
Flash the latest (AIO 2.5.1)
Sent from my HTC Runnymede using XDA App
I am also on the runnymede rom from sebastiaan15 and got the same advice.
I was on Stock HBOOT 5.3 version, now I am on the latest AIO rom.
Worked like a charm. Dont forget your nandroid... just in case
Actually my Qs. was that there are two different ROMs
1. Runnymede AIO
2. Runnymedemod007
what's the difference between these two ROMs?
and Does anyone of this ROM support Arabic??
Both has no arabic support.
007 AIO numbers letters

As far as I know, Runnymede007 hasn't been updated to the newest Runnymede base which is 1.11.1113.1... somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, Runnymede AIO has RCTweaks included by default, along with some improvements like Xloud (which I personally don't like) or the incredibly awesome X2SDX script.
I'm a big fan of Runnymede AIO, and I can tell you that the developer updates quite frequently. Hope this helps.

Sense ics kernels?

I wanted to know some kernels compatible with sense ROMs with ICS (sense 3.6 - 4) and where to download them.
I know already beastmode and virtuous, but which else?
I belive there was a thread sometime back in the development forum that had three modified virtuous kernels.
I think sabsa prime and coredroid phoenix might have a different kernel (one or the other), although I recall its just a tweaked beastmode.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
So, in esence, there's only those 2. So, where can I download them? I'm interested specially in older versions of beastmode, like 1.0. I can't find it anywhere...

I was running Mikg's froyo rom and installed the latest playstore and it worked fine.
Just curious, but why are you running a Froyo ROM when there are so many great Gingerbread ROM's out there?
Sent using my HTC EVO LTE and a magic wand
Through the use of both roms I find Froyo has faster response than gingerbread and the favorite.

I know it can be confusing, so it is best to flash kernel recommended by rom owner.
But, i can try to explain:
There are two (2) type of roms:
-Stock (based on sony's firmware)
-Aosp (or aokp, cm or miui)
So, you have Stock gb and ics, but no Stock jb.
For Aosp based roms, you have cm7 as gb based, cm9 as ics based and cm10 as jb based (i don't know what is miui based on)
To be able to boot rom, you need kernel that match type of rom you want to install.
Some version of kernels can boot dual type roms:
Example:
1: ics/gb Stock - can boot ics and gb roms based on Stock firmware
2: ics/gb cm - can boot ics and gb based on aosp ics gb roms
3:lupus v8 jb can boot Aosp jb and Aosp ics roms, and MAYBE that's the
kernel you are searching.
The best way is to search in kernels thread based on rom you want to install

I didn't flash recently any miui roms, do they have kernel inside the rom's zip file? Or was it inside cm roms?

dude, that makes a lot of sense, ever since i installed the kernel that i mentioned earlier i have been having random issues with some custom roms
usun lupus ics v12 720 on verizon xperia play
Gin2jelly bean rom is not recognized by my computer and wom was amazing but i dont like when developers put too much apps in it . i guess the problem was the kernel i am using
ICE CREAM PURENESS : laggiest thing ever, dont know why
[ROM][GSM] Gamer 4 [Ultimate Sony experience], this rom i wanted to install because it has on screen softkey buttons. so i could use those instead of the hardware one, but have to uninstall because the didnt appear on screen and has lots of apps.
SLIMBEAN: WELL I COULDNT INSTALL IT AND KERNEL KEPT ON BOOTING LIKE CRAZY.
NOW I AM BACK WITH THE BEST ICS ROM IN MY OPINION THE TRUE ANCESTOR FINAL EDITION, WHICH I LOVE BUT IT DOESNT HAVE THE SOFTKEY BUTTONS
but now that you clarify this i might try to flash a jelly bean kernel since google claims that jellybean is the one to beat lag.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR REPLYING.
greetings from a real newbie
Well, just to add, if you want gaming perfomance, use gb roms. Ics is stable these days, but little slower then gb in gaming. Jb is only Aosp based, it's good in gaming, but some things are still "work in progress".
Ps: we where all noobs at some point
Ask whatever you want (just do not ask for ETA)

ICSNEO2PLAY thats what i read at the end of all your posts, i assume you use that rom
TELL ME ABOUT THAT ROM, IT SEEMS THAT I CAN ALREADY INSTALL IT SINCE I HAVE AN ICS KERNEL.
DOES IT HAVE ON SCREEN BACK HOME AND TASK BUTTONS?

Eta is asking when something will come out. Neo2play is the Rom that he made and its in his Signature that's why you see it in all his posts. That rom doesn't haven't screen buttons but it does give you lots of choice in what you use to fully customize your phone through aroma installer. It should work if you have an ics kernel but it has to be a stock ics kernel not aosp. If your using true ancestor then that means neo2play should work on the sane kernel
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)
True ancestor rom, as my rom also, is based on Stock ics for Neo L (since that phone have exactly same hardware as play, minus touchpafs). My rom came out later, but i modded it more, and put aroma installer with bunch of rom options (gamers like less things installed, casual gamers sacrifice ram for the sake of extra stuff).
Some roms have osb (on screen buttons), but you'll have to search for it.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
If you really want osb then you can use markphytons nxt ics revolution rom. He removed it from xda but you can probably find a link for it somewhere in q&a section
