Trade GamerTags for Leaderboards?!?!

Hey guys, I have like 1 friend who I've been able to talk into gettinga windows phone and when Mango hits on the 27th for EVERYONE else, it's gonna take off I think.
But until then I don't have anyone on my leaderboards, so if you don't mind adding me or swapping gamertags and I'll add you, let's do it!!! Maybe we can get some really good gamers from XDA and have an awesome leaderboards going for all kinds of games.

Not sure what you are trying to do with this. Are you wanting people to become friends with you on XBL so that they can send game invites on Windows Phone?
If so, that's a good thread idea!

Yes, I figured apps and games is a good spot for this thread since this is where the gamers should be looking but yes, let's trade gamertags for invites so I can have some people on my leaderboards and myself and others on theirs.

I have the I'm a wp7 app. I wanted to add some xda friends is all. Xda people I know are die hard wp7. But yes we can add from there as well.

WM6.5 would make more sense with SD Card support and retro apps that have much more usefulness.
How would one get past the DRM that’s gives Willy Peeon access to all the content on ones device?
I would rather see a dual boot Android/WM 6.5....
Maybe start with the Fathom V7 ROM and just fix the data drop issue.
Then stick it in the face of that little dictator**** wanabe website LGforum that will ban you for telling it like it is.
If I could just get past decompiling the .wdb file...
The rest is just engineered obsolescence of the Fathom.
Your ROM help those who would consider trying that type of OS.

Lmao. I don't have to do this... I was just trying to please the two pm's I got... If u don't like my rom, simply don't use it. Im not a well knowledged dev, but I do try. Over at x2 we don't have much, so I put this together for us to have. The op and someone else pm’d me for this. Please don't go off hating like that. Im just trying to help.........

That sounds like something I might just try out in my spare time.
I just thought that with the internal memory limitations of the DInc II and the restriction of WP7 to not allow the use of an SD Card, there wouldn’t be much room to load programs. Kind of like the AndrOmnia project...
I do appreciate the work of just about all of the devs that I have read about.
I didn’t know that it was actually a work in progress.
And that wanabe website I was referring to is the LGforum that could be if it were controlled by someone other than North Korea.

Yehp.. It's still beta... what dows LG forums have to do with this? The rom should be out of beta next week sometime.. IM releasing the blurless version tomorrow"pretty much blurless" I just have a couple more things I need to take care of on x2 side before I can start on this.

Its not actual wp7 on the phone, its made to look like it. Like using launcher7 from the market.

well unless someone is willing to do it, i dont know what this poll even accomplishes. I'm under the impression that porting a different OS takes a lot more skill than making a native rom, otherwise the HD2 wouldn't be the only phone with 9000 different operating systems.

Saying bye to dman

Well as we all know by now that dman is gone nd prolly won't come back to help the SUPER slow development of the phone. I myself rly rly appericated his work and all his efforts in the phone. I am keepin the rom and not changing anything for it... works fine haven't seen any bugs that are or are not there. So just wanted to say thanks for the hard work dman and u will be missed greatly!

PRIMARILY from the users but also a little bit (because he was being instigated) from the Dev.

Didn't get the whole story, could someone summarize what had happenend the INCEPTION thread?

the dev took a lot of time to make a pretty slick rom, without even having access to the device.
A bunch of douchebags decided to complain about something they could never do themselves.
the dev got butt-hurt and pulled the thread and the ROM.
this is why I hate using forums.

I have them too, but I've solved most issues regarding the first one. There are bugs where things dont work or force close, so you have to replace them with other apks. the only thing i havent fixed is the videos wont play if you record them, but you can view the pics however. I haven't used the second version yet.

Wait, wait, wait ! What ?

Sucks that one of the few devs for an under appricated device left us but until there's a stock ics rom with root I honestly won't be using a custom rom. But that could have been someone releasing what I was looking for when we get ICS. I don't personally know the whole story but let's not act like children and either; work our differences out, or back your smack talk up with code.

Thanks for your hard work dman, it was greatly appreciated. As a matter of fact it is still very much appreciated every day when I use my phone. I believe this to be true for most people out there using the fruits of your labour.
It is a shame though that you let a dumb-ass bring you down to his level. I, for one, was quite surprised you felt a need to defend yourself against the allegations of an idiot. Pulling your ROMs because one person wrongly calls you a liar due to him being unwilling/unable to properly read is beneath you, or so most of us would have thought and hoped. How you ultimately reacted is petty, regardless of how good your work is, or how busy you are.
Perhaps his words came at a bad time, and hit home because of it. Perhaps you feel underappreciated. Or maybe you become irrational through the mentioning of lying, I don't know. You should know that if you feel even the tiniest bit slighted by my words, then you mistake intent.
All I do know is that everyone would like you to come back, and that most people have, do, and will love your work.

This really sucks. Just when I thought we had got some good interest in this great phone our community takes 2 steps back by losing a developer. It sucks that one person or a slight few can make people pack up and run!
I agree people are free to do as they please since this is done on their free time and there is no compensation other then how people react to what they release. I think people should be able to give criticism and not insult or complain when they get something for free. Also Developers should understand that there are many people out there that appreciate there work and do not wish for them to be bothered by some slight ignorant people that expect everything to be spoon fed to them.
I hate to see childish behavior and people slandering each other on forums. This is a nice venue for people to share their appreciation and work towards making an already great device that much better.
Can't we all just get along?

The new one as far as I know just had bugfixes as well as adding a pretty unusable theme. I'm sure all of us would like to see your updated version, sans theme with bug fixes.
Also, I'm familiar with coding, but not rom creation/modification at all. Would you mind pointing me to a getting started tutorial of some sort? I'd love to contribute to the cause.

Becoming more involved

I'm inspired. I'm inspired by all the great work that is done here. I'm going to teach myself how to theme; starting with creating a skin for sense. I have no idea if this is easier or harder than creating an aosp theme, but I'm gonna jump in head first and hope I don't get too bloody.
Can I get some advice from some of you guys on the direction I should take? What to avoid, etc.

I personally think the skins are easier than the theme chooser apks to an extent. The trickiest to get at times can be the .9's. Once you get them it's not bad at all. Finding things in the xmls can be a challenge at times too. Each one has its own challenges though (sense and aosp) ... It's just a matter of seeing where everything is and goes. that's the default i believe you have to turn on a setting to make them appear in sent. btw if you do decide to make a cm9 theme can you make a blue glassy transparent one? thanks

The end result makes it all worth it

Final update on this. I've resigned to the fact that this stuff is too time consuming for me to get into. I can however take comfort in knowing that I am good at other things.
I will remain a constant lurker to this forum, and an answerer of questions that have already been answered for noobs who can't read.

I read that one, and many others. It's not a lack of knowledge that is keeping me from this, however i know nothing about code, it is really just a lack of motivation, time, and energy. and being a dev is a somewhat thankless position. for as many thanks as they get they get just many F U 's, why does GSM no work, blah blah blah. i have a ton of respect for them, they get **** on constantly.

lol, it does seem that way at times
when releasing work (be it roms/themes/kernels/mods) except to get **** on by a small handful of people via posts or pm's...and have people ignore your previous posts and answers (or in my case a faq section) and ask the same question 9000 times in a thread
most of us do it cuz we like it and have the time for it...there are those clearly in it for the donation$ and glory (i can think of a handful of them off the top of my head....and it would probably surprise you) but thats crap imo
its always nice to see people want to get involved or try to do so...but usually the most prohibitive factor is time...it takes awhile to get familiar with this stuff, and even longer to work on it

Exactly my friend. I am super lazy at stuff like this, but this time around I really have no time, with my grad work and all. And, for whatever reason, I ALWAYS take forever to do the simplest things in coding... So, something that may take an hour for you, may easily take me 5-8 hours and it is NOT because of me being new to this. Even in projects where I knew what I was doing, I am very slow at coding and I don't know why... So, given the severe lack of time, now is not a good time for an android project. I wish I had an android phone a few years back, when I was much more free and really searching for things to do... I ended up making a toy app for my iPod Touch... That was really fun! But, I could tell that I was bad at it too! :/

New App/game idea, I need a developer.

So, I've come up with an idea for a simple yet addictive game for iPhone/Android. Without going into too much detail, it was something I used to play with when I was younger and was just thinking about it the other day, and thought, hmmm, that would make a great idea for a game on my phone. The more I think about it, the more I want to do it, but I have no experience with coding etc, or even where to begin... I searched for the name of the app and there is nothing like it out there.
So, I was just wondering if anybody on here knew a trusted developer I could share my idea with and develop it for me? If so, please message me.
We would be partners on the game and can arrange a mutual % before any work would be carried out.

Well i just hired my first free lancer and it took them about 3-4 weeks to create mine. I paid them $500 for it.
