Hi guys. Lately I seem to be going paranoid, so here is a question for you all. How safe are my personal files, pictures, keepass databases etc if they are located on the sd card of my desire which is always connected to the internet? Could someone hack into my phone and download them?
Thanks for your time.

The answer is no. To get hacked you have to be stupid and purposefully do it or get a virus on your phone.

They should not be able to do that unless u somehow got a virus onto your phone.

Thanks for the responses guys! The question that begs to be asked now, is what anti-virus / anti-trojan you would recommend?
Is it avgfree or lookout? Or is there some other choice?
Thanks once again!

Fizzerr is in fact correct. As long as you don't install any suspicious applications, that specifically have the permissions to access your SDcard and are specifically programmed to act as a virus and upload your data to the application author, then nothing could go wrong.

Hello. I have some sort of bug with the default browser. When I try to write in the Google search each letter turns into a star, like it thinks im typing a password. Anyone had similar problems and know how to solve it?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
That's a new one. Have you tried installing another browser and seeing if it does the same?
Same here. Seen a few people mention it; setting instant (beta) to 'on' sorted it for me, but heard others say that didn't work.
//sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk; all errors entirely intentional.
Only happens when using the default browser. Tried rebooting the phone but no luck. Running ARHD 3.3 if that makes any sense.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Here's one thread I found, link to some other threads and email from HTC (claiming it's to do with encryption) in there.

I've been trying to add XDA to Communities app, but I keep getting the 'wrong username or password' error. I know I'm using the correct ones (I'm here now on the website ), but short of registering with a different username-password, I can't think what I could do. Just wanted to bring this to XDA's attention, though the problem could be with Communities.

Same problem in Tapatalk.
I'm in webOS now, but when I booted to Android (cm7 - alpha3) I encountered the same problem, in the browser. I even looked up the password in Firefox on my pc, I'm using the correct one, but for some reason it's not being recognized.
Any mods have a suggestion?
Does your password contain special characters? That is all I can think of...
Tapatalk/Forum Runner work fine for me, and my password here is one that would usually cause issues on something badly written

Thanks for the answer, but, no it's a plain vanilla, letter & number combination pwd. It works fine for other sites.
My HTC Wildfire shuts itself off... It often restarts and this situation makes me angry! I've used LiGux ICS Buzz ROM
What can i do?
Could be a ROM based problem, I had the same issue for CM 7.1....does it happen with ROM's too ?

when exactly do the reboots happen - just randomly? You could check if it just happens on 3G data (just switch to 2G or turn data off and see if it keeps rebooting).

They would create a virus to send all your messages to a server - why would they restart your phone when they can steal all your personal info?

nah they're only trying to spy you - not me (I'm not interesting enough for them). But the reboot virus: yes I already had it and I could read that you have it now... (perhaps the froyo radio has a virus...:silly: )
They can feel free to look through the 16000.png's from extracting apps and themes, that's about all there is on my phone.
To the op, I had a similar problem try turning window animations off in cm settings that solved it for me.

sorry but that's just bs - every Willy has different specs and "best oc settings" depend on a lot of things (ROM, phone settings, phone usage etc. etc.)
No worries Pator57, your help is appreciated of course - but please keep in mind that you're not the only one with the language barrier and that your individual experiences and solutions might not work for others...

Has someone found a solution to let Google Now answer on your question? It just search for an answer on google. (Example: What time is it?)
I have already read the posts for other devices and none of the answers is working for me. I have ARHD 13.0 Jelly Bean Rom from mike1986 on my HTC One X.
(It can be that my English is not always correct.)

Your language must be set to US English, but it doesn't matter where you are.
Also, you have to phase your questions with a somewhat specific syntax. Here is a good video showing how:

I have already tried with my whole phone in US English. I have also seen that YouTube video.
