Hi All
I've got an HTC Flyer WiFi only and i'm thinink of buying a HTC Incredible S. Does anyone know if WiFi tethering between the two devices is possible without rooting one of them? Has anyone already tried this?
Thanks for you answers in advance!

If your incredible S is rooted then you can tether for free. Your other HTC Flyer phone doesn't need to be rooted and should be able to pickup the wifi signal.
- Also this probably shouldn't be in the Droid Incredible forum and probably in the more generic Android forums.
Poq, he was asking about non rooted. Yes there should be a way, I will try to find the post I looked at, you can also try Googling verizion wifi tether for free on HTC incredible, they should be the same in that respect

There is no canadian g2. Chances are you won't get 3/4g with it on att anyways

I'm sure that is what he means as well. The Bell Desire Z is fully compatible with ATT's 3G network.

The Inspire is just the ATT branded version of the Desire HD, which came out around the same time as the Desire Z/G2. And both phones are fully compatible with ATT's HSPA+ "4G" network.
What don't you like about the Inspire? If its the lack of keyboard, you should try Swype. But you would have to play some games in order to get it loaded, since Swype is not a Market app.
Where are you located? In in Ventura CA and am kooking to trade for an Inspire 4g for ATT. I have the Desire Z unlocked on ATT. Its in great condition. Maybe we can figure something out.

I know that the inspire 4g is the same as the desire us I just
ment that the phone itself is new. And I am talking about the desire z
but I thought if I put that in my post nobody would look. The reason that
I want a g2 is that I just love the way it looks and I prefer a hardware
keyboard. And to the person that asked I live in Somerset,Ky Zip Code 42501
and of you are serious about the trade then private message me your
phone number and I will text you
Please help.

I noticed this before i rooted too, I never came across a solution. I can only assume it is because your service provider has locked it out.
Cheers for your help looks like I'm going to have to root. I wanted to stay stock for once. Love the DHD best phone I have ever had but I did say that about my Hero (once I rooted it)

Hey guys. I seem to have a unique issue.
I am with T-Mobile UK, and when I activate my wireless hotspot', it doesn't connect, but rather just sends me to T-Mobile mobile broadband page which demands payment to use tethering.
When I had my iPhone, I used to be able to wireless tether without this prompt. Also my family have exactly the same contract on the same price plan and they can tether with no problem.
I am rooted but haven't managed to find a market app that works! Help please as this is quite important to me.
Thank you

I was really happy to get a Desire Z thinking I would be able to toss my active Straight talk/AT&T sim into it and be off and running. Unfortunately after rooting, unlocking, flashing a new rom, and entering the APN's, I'm still stuck with only a really slow EDGE connection. There was an old post about flashing a new radio, I'm curious to know if anyone got it working correctly?
Thanks!
So everyone here is on Tmobile? No one has a Desire Z on AT&T (with or without straight talk)?
Look around a bit more, that's why no one answered...
