Ok here's the scoop.. I have a Sprint EVO 4G and I am using Metro PCS I have flashed it and have had mms and 1x working on it since day 1 I first started with metroid 2.2 and moved to Cyanogen nightly I have also had it working on Miui and for some reason when I flash. Synergy or the kingdom red that's in rom manager they all use the 3d 3.0 sense I first get this upfating thatvsays hands free network updating and when its done it breifly says 3g but the web doesn't work and that quickly goes away and leaves nothing. I did breifly try the verizon hack with the prl which gave me verizons *2 but no 3g so I put the metro 2004 prl back using the ##775# and got my metro and phone back not sure if this effected anything but thought I should mention it. I HAVE GOOGLED my ass off with no reward. Please someone help me I really want to use the synergy RC2

ACTUALY! It appears to be all sense roms which all use to work before I did this stupid verizon prl evo hack thing so that's the culprit someone please help me because I have tried flashong an ruu I have tried all the metro prls 2001 2003 2002 and the aws. I wouod really lile my data to work with sense roma again lile I said when Infirst flash the rom it will now go into this hands free finding network thing and then it won't find it and simply errors oit I have tried to update the network and prl through the system updates and I get errors
oh did you clear your Dalvik & Dalvik cache? go clear your Dalvik & Dalvik cache and get back with us.
I have cleared Dalvik as well as data, system you name it. My data works with cyanogen miui but no longer any sense roms it happened somewhere between sybergy rc2 abd verizon prl hack tried everything even reprograming settings with qtsp

oK sorry for the title come to.find out it is all sense for me now it use to be I had a 1x no matter what ROM I used and at first was always sense now I can only get it to breifly say 3g if I update the pro but data web still does not work at all I also tried all the web mms packages to get web going with no success.
I don't know if this works on Metro PCS, but you could try updating the profile in the phone and see if everything comes back.
Under Gingerbread, it is System Updates -> Update Profile.

sadly, the one thing you likely don't want to do. is a restore. lol. back what you can up. for texts I use "SMS Backup & Restore" AND OMG IT WORKS GREAT!
but anyway, find a restore point and just keep going back one at a time until you find one that works.

I don't think I am familiar with restore points. Is it like Windows system restore? I would gladly do it! I also.want to mention I put the method sense Rom back and it has the 1x data working perfectly so I'm not sure where or what I lost but the one thing I can hypothisise is it might be an apn issue I can't seem to make the metro alms stick or they don't show up not sure but I looked at the alms on the metrodroid Rom and It was not there either on the other domain they have 2 Sprint1 apns
I hope you installed RA and did backups. FULL backups. lol. you did backups right? I won't even flash a wireless N fix without doing a full backup.

So I have a 4g problem. In Santa Clara, CA.
I get a decent signal and it holds fine, no disconnects, but there is not data transfer.
Things I tried:
- Checked MAC and it matches the case.
- Deleted tree.xml
- Reflashed Radio and Wimax
- Updated PRL, Profile
No luck with any of them.
4G worked a while ago, then I flashed CM6, then back to stock 2.2.
Current setup: Stock 2.2, netarchy's kernel 4.1.8-cfs.
Any suggestions? Did I miss any fix possibilities?

Did you check your connection with speed test? Is the 4G problem restricted only to Web browsing?
I ask because the Ad Free app will block 4G Web browsing, but not 4G anything else and not 3G Web.

So, installed alogcat, run it. I'm guessing I'm looking for "E/Wimax ....."
When filter by "E/Wimax", I get the following
"E/Wimax ( 730):<DC CONNECT> IO Error:msg='/127.0.0.1:7771 - Connection refused"
Also

Does that mean anything?

didn't see this part. Disregard my last comment.
Also keys = rsa keys. When you delete them you're not able to connect to 4g at all.
I had this problem for a while and it was because I was on an old radio and couldn't get the new one to flash properly without wiping thee cache first

I thought that might be the case. So I flashed the new radios, and as far as I can tell they're up to date.
Baseband: 2.15.00.07.28 (from phone info settings)
Wimax: 26023 (from wimax_mtd)
The interesting things is that it appears to be connected, and even get's IP issued, just no data transfer...

I didn't know what else to do so I Decided to start from scratch....did a full wipe flash the radio, the wimax and vael Rom again still no luck. So I told myself **** it....then I decided I wanted to try Fresh Rom. So I wipe everything again n flash Fresh on to my phone and now my 4g is working again....I don't knowing that would help u but it did it for me. Hope u get it figure out.
Update: ok so I thought about flashing a new kernel. So I made a NAND backup and flashed netarchy-toastmod kernel. After flashing my 4g stop working again.
Did a NAND restore. Then this time I wipe the delvik cache. Then flash the kernel and 4g is working...

Did you wipe data as well or just the caches?
Wipe data and cache when flashing a new Rom.
Wipe dalvik cache when flashing a new kernel
Same thing happened to me. I ended up flashing the RA Recovery because I heard CW wasn't wiping cache's correctly. So you might want to try that as well.
I tried wiping both caches 1-2 times multiple times and it never worked. Then one time I wiped both caches 3 times and it worked.

any idea how to get them back? I cant connect at all. flashed radio, wimax, stock kernal, stock all in one rom, nothing gets it back.

I have tested my 4G datacard from Sprint in that area (top of Palo Alto), where I had 1-2 bars of 4G signal.
Because they are still testing there, I was unable to connect...
This might be your case -- they are still testing, and probably turn connections on/off during this period.

This 4G problem happened to me...i dug around in my backups and found a wimax.img from nandroid folder on sdcard. You need to find an older wimax image that was created during a back up...these wimax.imgs that are an image of your phone HAVE YOUR WIMAX KEYS
i searched and read every thread i could find to help resolve this issue but came up with no results. my evo was flashed to boost mobile and had the fresh rom, i later changed it to myn's warm two point two rls5 but now both my mms and 3g isnt working. i tried changing the server and everything but it still doesnt work. can anyone help?????
Are you able to flash back to the fresh rom and, if so, is MMS and 3G working? If it is working correctly with the fresh rom, it should work with RLS-5. When you initially flashed the fresh rom, what changes, if any, did you make to get it to work properly with Boost Mobile? Can you not apply the same methods with RLS-5? Did you do a full wipe/data reset prior to flashing RLS-5? I've never been with Boost Mobile so forgive me for my line of questioning.

it worked fine when i had fresh flashed on there and it worked for a while when i flashed warm 2.2 then suddenly it stopped working and so did my mms. i flashed da latest radio and still got no results. im now using warm z and still no 3g.

I think the reason your MMS/3G and other things aren't working is because you flashed a different radio. The radio you had previously was set to receive boost mobile's data and stuff.
You may want to see if you can revert back to the radio you originally had.
I flashed the radio, nv, and pri while on Boost and everything still worked. I think what happened is that your APN got overwritten when you flashed your ROM. Wipe your data and let it provision:

provisioning didn't work?
thats because you earased your data settings even if you do a reset chances are you will not be authenticated in ##debug# menu in evdo at the bottom it will not say your authenticated you will get 1xxrt speeds after the ##786#rest and letting phone provision right after the reset but to get your 3g takes more steps than just provisioning.....
So my friend rooted his Evo with Unrevoked. I verified s-off.
He copied a PC36IMG onto his SD which turns out was some 2.1 rooted stock ROM. After doing that his phone could not make/receive calls/text or connect to 1x/3G/4G. Basically an expensive phone that has no phone functions. Everything else works (WiFi included). He flashed http://link.geekfor.me/rootedromzip onto his phone from http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...vo-install-clockwork-recovery.html#post165998.
When I looked at it, he still did not have a custom recovery so I flashed Amon RA PC36IMG. Full factory wiped data/cache/dvalik. Flashed Synergy RC1. Phone still could not make/receive calls and was getting Error 16 when trying to call. Called Sprint and they reprovisioned phone and fixed calls and texting. Noticed his phone is stuck on 1x and cannot connect to 3G when my phone next to his works fine. Did not test 4G yet since I have poor 4G coverage in my area. Cannot update his profile - just sits there like something is happening but it never completes.
What are his options here? Is it a bad radio or something that we can fix? Can we flash a stock rooted ROM and regain 3G? Remember, no nandroid was made unfortunately.
I would try flashing the latest radios just to be sure. And tell your friend to always make a nandroid backup to avoid this problem in the future.
Well his first time flashing. I think he mistakenly thought the PC36IMG as a custom recovery but it was actually an entire ROM.
Didn't have a chance to nandroid. I'm instructing him how to update newest radio combo and seeing what happens.
Update: Flashed latest combo radio. Updated profile and PRL. Still stuck on 1x even after reboot. Is he hosed? Does Sprint have to do something on their end to fix his EVDO? 4G isn't working either by the way.
Update 2: Wimax Keys Checker - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.joeykrim.wimaxkeys says that RSA Key is present. Relieved that he didn't lose his RSA key. Just can't figure for the life of me why he can't connect to 3G or 4G. Not sure where to go from here? Ok, was on the road when I had wife reply...lol.. When you rebooted the phone,did you wipe cache,and dalvik. Then try updating profile? It sounds weird,but has worked for me,without even updating profile. I have had no coverage before after flashing a Rom,also,did just that,and it came back. If rsa keys are present,that is good. If you would be kind enough to reply,whether fixed or not,would appreciate it,anyway,gonna move on...

Updating profile and PRL doesn't work. It keeps attempting to update but it is never successful.
I haven't had a chance to get his phone to just try reflashing a new ROM or stock ROM to see what will happen though.
He says using ##data# and entering his MSL code and changing EVDO to automatic doesn't work either.

I would start over again ... wipe completely with Calkulin's "fomat all" zip and flash a rooted stock rom like xhausx. Once the phone boots up, call Sprint and have them walk you through provisioning everything. Once all is well, then move into whatever custom stuff he wants.

Is he Flashing the RUU's or just running them through the computer? Normally, you sync your phone or through hBoot and then start the program, try flashing stock Froyo and then factory reset once flashed, it helps clear out traces of old roms etc. If you need anymore help feel free to ask, I would be more than happy!

you dont need Sprint to provision, just get your MSL code and do it your self plus I would do a search for people who may of had similar issues and see what they did. Now if that does not work then why dont you check what your network settings are.. See if its set to CDMA(Auto) I remember my Touch Pro I could of set it to 1x maybe something is getting stuck. I think its in ##3282 you check it and I also remember an app on the market called network that did it for you as well.
If that does not work then flash 3.70 radios and then a 3.70RUU and start from scratch.
He already tried ##data#. He can change his EVDO to automatic but it doesn't stay that way.
Alright I don't know how I fixed it but it's fixed.
Just cannot get 4G now. Wimax keys are present. It keeps scanning and cannot get connect. Previously could get 4G at these locations.
I am running EVO as donor/target phone, my is only 1x speed, no matter which rom I try
Synergery, Mik, Stock-Rooted, differ kernal, different PRL, check the data profile Automatic, Try restore but can not cat automatically update, still need to go qpst to update my profile. i know this post is somewhat old. but Making a back up wont take hardly and extra time! always always make one unless you have 100% reliable roms already backed up.
ok so im in okinawa japan on softbank with the htc one x. last week i saw there was a new base the roms were being built which had android 4.0.4 Long story short everysince i tried the first 4.0.4 rom (renovate) i have not been able to get data working unless i nandroided back to my coredroid setup. i have done everything i could think of with the apn. delete all and start fresh, tried editing the one that came with a fresh boot (it never worked on my hox or wifes gnex) and ive went into *#*#4636#*#* and chose my band and clicked enable data. also the mobile network toggle has been toggled many times trying to wake it up lol. anybody got anything? please help, any is greatly appreciated

go to dev tools after you set up your apn and hit 'crash system server' if that doesn't work. use titanium and restore apn's.

Try apn backup from the market first. If data works on our Rom then backup those apn configurations with that app then restore it on your new Rom.

im going to flash renovate and try the crash system trick. thats the only one i havent tried, as ive never heard of it. but, as far as backing up apn's, several apps including the new ics compatible tweakker app, say the device isnt supported to restore apns. fml. i really want to try these newer roms. i hope the trick works.

well i found the current dev tools apk and crashed system server on a fresh install of aokp. setup the default apn's and also the set i input manually to my roms. neither worked. apn backup and restore does not work. says this version of android doesnt allow the use of 3rd party apps to manipulate apns. what else guys? im stumped and really want my roms to stay current and im slowly and surely getting left behind

just a bump here. nobody still have any clue why my carrier isnt working with android 4.0.4? ive tried everything listed here. I know how to setup apns properly. theres just something different about the 4.0.4 roms, sense or aosp based, that doesnt let me connect to data.
so... find the ruu for vietnam. download it. go fastboot oem lock and run ruu. this will flash your phone completely stock as if it came from the factory. good luck! if you get confused or lost, use google search...

Look at this legitness, you know I dont follow the One X cause its all about the GS3.....What version of android does it work on, the 4G? Has anybody else had success with 4g on the 4.0.4 Roms that your not having? Where are these ROMS based out off, international versions or US?
Hello there, I have been in the search for a perfect 4.4 ROM to work, I seem to be at an impass..
The 2 that I have tried, and Quite enjoyed so far are the Omni ROM and the Cyanogenmod 11
Both roms have the same issue, I cannot connect to a 4g LTE Sprint tower. I know the LTE Towers are working, My mom has the same phone, Sprint Note 2 and I have Mac's Rom on it and is picking up a very strong 4g Signal, yet my phone which sits literly right next to it, Refuses to get any 4g.. I drove around, went to known working areas, Never once did I snatch a 4g signal.
I played with the settings, it is set to LTE mode, I even tried Flashing as a fresh Install..
I tried flashing a Stock rom, but for some reason after it installs, and on boot up the phone does not work. I get a blank screen and literly nothing. I have to pull the battery to get it to turn back on. At that point I have to either Re-flash or restore a backup through CWM.
Any help would be appreciated, I miss my LTE Thanks
Same issue here. Not sprint though...
In cm11 set your mobile network type to cdma+lte/evdo or global. See if that works.
Next you can try to flash a touch wiz rom and do a hands free activation, verify lte works on the touch wiz rom, then flash to CM11 and see if you can connect to lte.

I have tried setting it to both. Global shows no signel what so ever on anything, I currently have it on cdma=lte/evdo and I just get a good 3g signal..
I might try that one out, Which is a good touch wiz rom to try and do that with ? I dont think I even tried a touch wiz rom yet

I know the LTE Towers are working, My mom has the same phone, Sprint Note 2 and I have Mac's Rom on it and is picking up a very strong 4g Signal, yet my phone which sits literly right next to it, Refuses to get any 4g.. I drove around, went to known working areas, Never once did I snatch a 4g signal.
I played with the settings, it is set to LTE mode, I even tried Flashing as a fresh Install..
I tried flashing a Stock rom, but for some reason after it installs, and on boot up the phone does not work. I get a blank screen and literly nothing. I have to pull the battery to get it to turn back on. At that point I have to either Re-flash or restore a backup through CWM.
Any help would be appreciated, I miss my LTE Thanks

Personally I would recommend doing this:
Backup everything to your PC (both internal and external)
Delete the contents of the "0" folder on your internal card. If you use ES File Explorer, you'll need to enable root access, and then while in the app hit the menu button. The left menu will slide open and you'll see "Local".... underneath that you'll find the "0" folder. The problem is the way CM and Touchwiz mount the file system - they don't do it the same way. So when you do a factory reset in CWM, it doesn't clear out one of those folders. (I found this thread helpful - especially posts 2 & 4) I had major data problems on CM10 for 2-3 months, then I found this out.
After you do that go back to stock. Make sure you download the keep root file as well.
To play it safe, once stock, I highly recommend entering ##72786# in your dialer. The phone will grab the latest prl and update your profile. Whether or not you want to update the software (incl modem) is up to you, but I'd rather not get into the knox world.
Verify working gps. (I prefer "GPS Status")
Then go back to CM11.

If it works, consider hitting the thanks button - at the very least the guy in that other thread - I know I thanked him - his info saved me from going crazy!!!
I had working data (3g/LTE) on any touchwiz, but not on CM. It turned out that I had some corrupted data that wasn't getting deleted upon a factory reset. After I cleared out that data, everything was fine.
Hope your phone is back to normal!
Finally was able to download everything and run the tip, Thanks a lot dude! That helped and that did it ! I got 4g Back and everything is all peachy!!! Thanks again!
