TextWarrior syntax highlighting editor on Android. - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

For those of you who have not dicovered this yet, TextWarrior is a fantastic syntax highlighting text editor that runs on the phone. Syntax highlighting for C C++ Java etc. You can even use the volume keys to move the cursor. Works very well with Hacker's Keyboard.
I am nothing to do with the author but as it is totally free and free of adverts. I thought that he deserved a bit of support.

[solved] Terminal app for htc evo?

Is there a free terminal app where special characters work as well? I tried the one from the market, but it didn't work.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I use terminal emulator by Jack Palavich(sp?)
EDIT: Only thing I have noticed is while using swype for some reason it won't go back to allow me to fix misspelled words. So, I have to use the stock keyboard instead. Just a heads up
That's the one I tried, but I couldn't figure out how to set the control key.there is no alt key etc on my key board. Any ideas?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
For an app, I recommend ConnectBot since it can also do SSH.
As for the control key, look in the Market for "Full Keyboard". It's just what its name implies, but it's definitely not for day-to-day use outside of a shell (veritcal only, 2.1 AOSP keyboard based, cludgy).
Connectbot is nice, but I don't have any access to ctrl keys either - not even with full keyboard. Am I blind? I need to be able to control vi for example.
Any other ideas? Thanks again in advance!

Is this what you are talking about.... http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/25956-ctrl-key.html
Sorry for the double post but I wanted to make sure it gets noticed.
While in terminal emulator hit menu>preferences there will be a setting "Control key". It allows you to choose your own control key.
EDIT: By default it looks like it is set to Jog ball.
There is a control key in Full Keyboard. Press the 123 key to see symbols and numbers, then press Dpad to see the editing keyboard, then press Ctrl to see the Alpha keyboard again, but this time, with ^ prefixed to each character (aka, each character is really Ctrl+*character*)
Thanks, but the four choices don't work for my keyboard. I guess I have to go with full key board then.

Can some solve my problem

I have an app called mini diary and i decided to make a daily diary entry on my phone to practoce typing on it.
The problem is that there is a 1000 character limit. This sucks cause well i like writing diary entries the size of small essays so it takes 2-3 entries just to write what i want to.
Can some one modify the app to get rid of the character limit or atleast in crease it to atleast 2500

Have you tried emailing the developer?
Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk
I've had hands-on experience on C++, I'm sure Java doesn't differ too much. However, I don't have a laptop snappy enough to handle the android sdk & eclipse software, also, unless decompiling the apk puts it back to full source code, to my knowledge, it isn't as simple as an xml edit, HOWEVER it doesn't make much more difficult either, you just search through the code for the proper class that contains such information in limit, or perhaps another terminology used by its creator/dev and once found, you change its values to meet your needs, and then recompile. This however should be emailed to the dev, and if its something you want to tackle for yourself, (which anyone can for this type of edit)legally speaking, you should contact the dev for permission to make such modifications to his/her app, (unless his work is opensource then you're ok) otherwise, he's protected by any type of reverse engineering, aka decompiling.
I think the dev is sammy

This is one of the questions on a Google or Microsoft application to work as a programmer. Can anyone solve this without looking it up or cheating. Obviously we wont know if u did or not. This is just for fun.

I am giving it a try but I still think Swype is better. There is a big thread on the beta over here.
Sometimes I want to type a word and NOT have a space after it - so, I press backspace, then say, type a comma and it "auto corrects" to the wrong word. Even if I keep re-typing it and going back again and again, it keeps auto correcting it away from the word I wanted.
So, if a word is not in the dictionary yet and I want a comma right after it (no space) I don't know how to do that yet

Loving this so far... the initial dictionary downloads were slow this morning, I suspect they were swamped!
I switched back to Swype
They could not get even a third if my swiped words plus the keyboards extra colors look to unnatural to me
It just doesn't flow well together
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Trying it now... And.. I think I like it! I'll have to give it a few days and see how it fares! I've been having a few issues with swype since jb (the failure to auto space in browser boxes... Grrr), so this could become my new input-er of choice
Thanks, Frost...

Hmmm i just noticed that the flow (swype) didn't work when i was searching for an app on the market... Er... play, that is... Seems to be nonfunctional for any Google search Window (noticed the same behavior in the Maps search) for me (though it works fine for browser search boxes...). Anyone else seeing this?

That is by design. Flow is not used in any text entry box where the app provides auto complete.

Sorry, but anyone saying Swype is better is completely delusional. Swiftkey is, and has been, lightyears ahead of Swype in auto-correction, multi-language support, and customization. Period!

It's all personal preference. I, for one, prefer Swype over SwiftKey. I do like SwiftKeys auto-correct and prediction more, but I've just gotten so use to Swype that I can type a message faster even with all that stuff SwiftKey has on Swype. Flow has just begun beta.. maybe when they get all bugs worked out I'll be able to make the switch.

Yeah, it's all about personal preference. I've never liked swype and the keyboard app that comes with the phone. I've always used SwiftKey and loved it. I might just have to try the flow version of Swiftkey.
I believe that it uses the SwiftKey dictionary that was learned with the regular app.. Because it is predicting everything like normal but just with flow
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Just tried the beta, I'm just not a flow person.
You can use it just like regular SwiftKey
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Yes, it's all personal preference, but when it comes to text prediction, SwiftKey wins by a country mile.
Sent from my SGS3!
Well ive been using this I have to say swype pisses me off with one thing only which is when you are choosing numbers there is no period at the bottom but a comma. It's annoying because I have to go back and forth between numbers and go back to put the periods. And of course the auto prediction on this thing is amazing.

I didn't like this too but found out you don't have to go back to insert the punctuation before the space just insert it afterwards and it will auto correct to before the space.

I do not like this flow version of any SwiftKey. Well accept it is better at button mashing than Swype. Word accuracy when swiping sucks so bad compared to Swype.
.:Sent from my Sprint Galaxy Note II:.
I'm absolutely loving flow. To me, it's the same SwiftKey that I have always loved, but with swype added. I really like how it shows you what the outcome of your swype is going to be without having to release and see what you're result is going to be.

[APP] Fleksy Beta Apk Download Link

Here you go guys, Fleksy beta APK theoretically modded to worth with all phones, but tested on Galaxy Nexus! you're welcome
"Fleksy is a revolutionary technology, which makes typing text on a touch-screen easy.
Ever dreamt of an auto-correct system powerful enough to work even when you don’t look at the screen? Enter, Fleksy.
Used today by thousands of blind and visually impaired users to type faster and easier than many sighted people, Fleksy is set to revolutionize the way people think about mobile devices and to challenge the traditional barriers in touch-screen typing for everyone.
Featuring Syntellia’s patent pending technologies, Fleksy uses the familiar QWERTY layout, coupled with probably the most powerful text prediction engine out there.
Tap typing, re-invented.
How Fleksy works
Fleksy allows users to type text on the familiar keyboard layout, by tapping on the screen. Our patent pending technology does not need accuracy – just tap on the screen and Fleksy will automatically detect the text you meant to enter – even if you have missed every single key.
It is like nothing you have used before.
Happy Typing!"

Erm have u not read the comments?
Been dying for this, thanks!
I've also been waiting a long time for the beta, already run into an issue.. There's no way to choose to manually enter information. It's always guessing what I am typing. For example, I cannot, for the life of me, type the word "I'd" If I type "I" then "d", it autocorrects to "of" If I type "I" then hit "#" to go the the punctuation, hit the " ' " and then back to the keyboard to hit the "d", it changes it to an "a", so reads "I'a"
EDIT: So once you type a word, downswiping will scroll between the different suggestions. Still took ~4 to choose "I'd" even though those were two letters I'd typed, maybe it should prioritize different words based on letters Ive entered.
I'd also like to see more punctuation longpress options, and an ability to choose longpress duration
EDIT 2: Seems that there is no way to choose to add words, wonder if this will change?
One of the worst keyboards ive ever tried

Here's a link to the FAQ/Manual for Fleksy, though I think it's the iOS version, because it states that you can right swipe a word to add it to the user dictionary, though that doesn't seem to function for me on Android. And the load time is part of the app, I think, no matter the version, beta or not. I believe it's updating the dictionary each time?
I'm a bit peeved this isn't so great. I'm also miffed that there's no public forum for providing feedback. Anyone who has official beta access have a way of sharing feedback and suggestions with the devs?
