Hi there..yes im a new guy ¬_¬.
So I want to root my wildfire (i know how to do it). The problem is i like HTC Sense and the new version that came for the 2.3 devices, iv'e been looking around for a bit trying to find a Sense rom on 2.3 and have so far failed.
1) Are there any 2.3 Sense ROMs out there for the wildfire?
2) If not are there any themes that mimic Sense for CyanogenMod 7? (I would prefer if the 'people' and 'message' apps looked like sense to because i dont want to open them and find that it look different to sense.) (Also if ii was to do this i presume that i wouldn't be able to keep the HTC widgets so would there be anyway to add them in?)
3)If the above just isn't available id prefer to stay on the stock 2.2.1 sense rom, how could i overclock with it? (i understand it has something to do with replacing a kernel but i don't know how to do this.)
Thank you in advance.
Yes, you are new and you obviously haven't looked properly. -.-
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1067868
2) Not possible to get Sense Apps to Non - Sense ROMs like Cyanogenmod
3) Replacing a kernel is the same as installing a ROM. Place kernel Zip on SDCard, Reboot into Clockworkmod Recovery, Select Install Zip from SDCard, select kernel Zip, done.
Well i did look and saw that and was a bit too unfinished for me but thanks anyway.
Looks like i'll probably replace the kernel to overclock and see if anything new will come out or possibly move to CM7.
Don't forget to take a nandroid backup before moving to CM7, so you can easily revert if CM's messaging, contacts, camera app etc dont suit you.

Hi - ive finally taken the big step and rooted my desire (unbranded with OTA Froyo updates) using unrevoked 3.
My question is this ... im not too bothered about flashing new ROMS - although opendesire is quite tempting (but i like all the Sense stuff).
What I would like to do is customise the existing stock ROM. in particular i quite fancy this ...
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-themes/56651-liquid-battery-icon-android.html
So ive found metamorph and installed it .... but it says i need BusyBox .....
Now when I check for BusyBox i seem to be hiting a deadend - in that I cant update this for the Desire.
Now im reasonably tech-savvy but an Android noob.
Can i customise stock ? or do i really need to use another Rom for customisations ??

There's a ROM/Theme kitchen in the Development thread Go search there
Hopefully it works for you.
metamorph dosent work with the desire, i think it somthing to do with the fact we dont have full root yet, if you flashed the ota, becareful trying to theme, i think the official htc roms are odexed, meaning themeing is nearly impossible ........
Is it possible to get the DeFroST application as part of a complete ROM, or a can i get it on its own to install ? (without installing complete new ROM)
I see some Stock HTC ROMS that have DeFroST included but i want Stock+Sense+DeFroST hboot 0.83 if possible
I have currently :
I have a Rooted Stock ROM-2.2 +Sense-Froyo (without the OTA update) + Radio version: 32.49.00.32U_5.09.00.20
cheers
im pretty sure that it is not possible to have defrost and sense at the same time as they kind of cancel each other out. i could be wrong though.
closest thing you can get is a couple apps here and there that LOOK like sense, and if you buy launcher pro plus it almost is identical to sense, but as far as i know there is no way to actually have both with each other.
DeFroST is a ROM and not an app you can install on an existing ROM
Hi guys,
I'm new on modding but I would like, before to start, to know a thing.

Just in cas I will not like it is it possible to come back...I think so but how can I do it?
Thanks for your help.
Please suggest also to me something to read to start create application and other development.

You took the time to get out of the Development forums then didn't go near the Q&A? I should flame you, but to get back there are also mutliple threads on this. You want to take S-OFF away then run your local RUU.
I'm sure that makes no sense, but like I said, I'm sure there are threads about it.
Wrong section buddy, I suppose someone with grammar problems is also unable to post in the correct forum.
All you gotta do is a nandroid backup, which can be found in your recovery. The easiest way is to backup by Rom Manager, find it in the market.
give the poor new guy a break man...
for starters, check out the wiki
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...sion#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
You need to root the phone and get S-Off in order to flash a custom ROM. The Wiki method linked in the previous response is considered the most reliable method to root.
Once rooted, install ROM Manager from the Android Market. Then using ROM Manager, flash Clockwork Recovery, then backup your current ROM. This backup is also called a nandroid backup, and will return your phone to your current setup, whenever you want.
Then you can go ahead and wipe and flash Virtuous Fusion (either using ROM Manager or Clockwork).
can try out the new virtuous sense 2.0
Hey
I used the Ace Hack Kit to root my Desire HD, then out of curiosity installed the CyanogenMod, and I wonder if I can go back to HTC Sense 3.0 now?
If it is possible, will I still have root?
Thanks

I am assuming you have successfully installed CM and therefore have root.
If you have been able to install CM successfully, you can install any other ROM with the same process. There are many ROMS in the development forum.
Pick you fav ROM
Download it
Check the MD5 (an important but not a compulsory check)
Put the file on SD card
Boot into recovery
Choose Install from SD Card
Navigate to the location of ROM
Select to install it
If you want to go back to Sense 3.0, I recommend you try out Android Revolution (ARHD) roms, you can try out Runny based roms if you want Sense 3.5 and if you are ok without video recording and WLAN support, you can even try out LC's ICS rom if you want Andorid 4.
Thanks so much for the reply, I was wondering if I could go back to the stock HTC sense 3.0 rom because that's actually the only I like the most.
Is it possible to have root with a stock rom?
You will find the stock ROM right here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
it's already rooted. so u dont need to root your device again
flash it just like u did with CM
Thanks so much for that link!
One last question please, After I flash the stock rom, can I still get software updates from HTC?
No, u won't get any HTC Updates. I don't think this is what you want because u would have to flash a RUU and loose root permissions.

Dude use the search option......or go to this thread if you are new here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970145
best rom
Okay, I know this question was asked many times, but I went through the results and can't find what I'm looking for.
I have HTC Wildfire S (marvelc) , rooted, and I'm looking for custom rom which:
enables link2SD
has standard sense keyboard (or more to say, has this little button enabling to quickly toggle input languages)
has working sense clock/weather widget (might sound silly, but i love those weather animations)
I've spent last weekend installing different custom roms on my htc (WildChild, Random, HenseMod7) and neither fulfilled these requirements. Some didn't work at all
If you guys know any rom that does do what I need, that would save me a lot of time and probably my mental health
It Really isnt do hard, download your ROM, copy it into the sdcard, boot into recovery(turn off you phone and take the battery out, reinsert it and hole the volume down button+power button, use the volume keys to nevigate, and the power key to select) locate you ROM and there you have it! itll take some time to install it and reboot. \
I use the CM9 ICS ROM by Modpunk, You can find it here.

The only ROM for Marvelc that i can think of that uses these are Hensemod, or any other variant of the stock ROM...someone just posted a CM10 for the Marvelc, which doesn't meet any of these requirements, but I love it already...
jmz sense or teamblueridge sense. you can get the second one from goo manager just download the app and look at compatible roms. personally I like dudeman's pa for marvelc and of course the new cm 10 which has come a long way in 3 days.
Sent from my Marvelc using xda app-developers app
