Netflix on Archos 70 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I just spent money on this Archos 70 as I read it was a Android based device therefore Netflix on a bog screen sounded awesome to me. I have read all the things on this site about how to get it working and nothing is working. Can someone please help? I mean explain it to me like I'm an 8 year old.
Thank you for all of the help!
EDIT: For some reason the first installation of the new firmaware didn't take. so i reinstalled it and it works amazingly!!

TP2 Android biggest disapointments... ---> BATTERY METER

Very very thankyou ppls for your hard work... i really appreciate the hard work of the devs.. but can some1 tell me that when the battery metter is fixing.....i only bought this to use android on it but due to unstable battery indcator i m not able to properly get the fun of android on this device.....seriously i have no intrest to use winmo..i liked the keyboard and read that its android compatiable so i bought it .... i know some ppls will say that go buy something else ..... all i need is battery fix and i think many of the ppls here will agree with me....well i for me i m w8ing more 15 days to see if the proper battery fix appears then i will continue it else i will go for Motorola Milestone...i m not saying that these ppls are not working .. all i m saying that all we need is a battery fix with Wifi
w8ing for the ppls opinions
Thanks
honestly man, whats the point of this post? The devs know whats working and what isn't and I'm sure they're working on fixing and improving things. The fact that you can even boot up and run Android on a Windows Mobile phone shows the dedication and work they've put into this so far, its just a matter of work and time until everything is working, have faith and wait it out
dont be surprised if u start gettin some negative responses.
first off, the battery fix wrks great and is very accurate. there must b something u not doing right. i even posted my initial battery readings in the thread with this new build. actually the battery fix is almost dead accurate. i got 8+ hrs. outta of it yesterday. with overclock, with constant use. so nonoverclocked build will probaly bring even longer use.
second, wifi wrks perfectly.
third, why would u buy a device just to run a project build then if u wanted everything wrking? i understand the keyboard thing but unless u got ur device on a good ass deal, kind of silly to buy it just to run something not even fully completed yet. come on now.
Fourth, b4 u bought ur device, did u thoroughly read everything going on with this build or u just jumped in head first?
this is why so many people getting flamed cuz they dont do the research or homework. then come on here posting about why this or that isnt wrking. or what ASSUMPTIONS they have.
dont take this post the wrong way cuz this will probaly be one of the nicer posts towards u. lmfao juss way too many people jumping in and complaining when they wouldve already known the known issues with the build. which in ur case is incorrect. there has to be something u did wrong.
these are questions to ask self why batter fix and wifi not wrking for u.
Am i using the latest builds? Did i thoroughly follow instructions on installing it? Did i install the build with the battery fix in it? Did I break my battery fix by updating the zImage and modules?(which will break the battery fix). if thats not the case, then, Did i update the latest roofts and inirtd files? Did i even troubleshoot the problems b4 posting saying they dont wrk? lol
im not trying to sound like a dckhead..lmfao but im sure the developers would say the same thing basically.
they might have to implement what they doing on the other threads now. if u dont have a certain number of posts, then dont download and try out builds with doing the research first. a moderator stepped in and said that. cuz way too many people complaining about stuff thats already known or complaining about stuff that wrks but they didnt do it correctly.
food for thought, try the latest build. then DO NOT UPDATE THE ZIMAGE AND MODULES AFTERWARDS. only update the roofts and inirtd files.
if u need help getting it running right, let me know. ill be more thn happy to help or assist u, seriously. srry to sound cranky, just woke up n stressed about other things in life..lol
good luck

3rd..well i got 2 options 1 was TP2 and 2nd was Motorola milestone ... well i dont like to milestone keyboard but i forgot that it was way slimmer then tp2 / also compatiable with new builds by defualt...well i was tp2 in local market then came to xda and saw the thread about android and just go for it.. as seeing the progress i thought that it will be fixed soon...now i cant tolarate windows-mo anymore just want to go to the android again asap...so i started this thread...

the point of this post is to know about battery fix.. because i think its damaging the battery...because while turing on the android the led indicator turns on and battery start heating-up sorry dont sound to be rude but please if u cant help dont bother to post you will waste your time...
Would you all kindly stop being illiterate? English words are made of letters not numbers.
On topic, jamb, you could have dropped the silly threats (Imma buy another phone) and just asked the question.
Considering this phone wasn't intended to even run android..... and you bought it without clearly reading through and seeing what was working and what wasn't... yeah I can see peoples frustrations with your question.
Your best bet, as I'm sure you know, if you wanted a perfectly working andoid phone was to buy one that was designed for it OR at least play with someones touch pro 2 who has android running on it so you would know what to expect.
It's called development for a reason, its still on going and there is still a LOT of work to be done and no one knows time frames on this. It's like asking when we're going to mars (all be it that might be a very dramatic example)
Regarding the battery. As was discussed... there is a fix and if it isn't working for you then you aren't doing something right. It's accurate and thats all anyone can hope for. As far as becoming warm. Well it probably has something to do with what you are using on your phone. Internet, GPS, etc etc... all at once. overclocking it is a big culprit for the warmness of phones. The more you tax the phone the more it will become warm.
It wont 'ruin' your batter by using the phone... Just be patient and understand that these fixes could come out tomorrow or could never come! Just what it is.

Your title isn't so much directed at andoid as it is the people who spend hours and hours and hours developing a working version for our phone. So, yes it can be taken as being insulting, with that people are going to see this post and think "who is this guy?"

My battery meter seems to be working just dandy. I did a test yesterday and it was dead on. When in Android I looked at the battery meter and it was about 3/4 full. I opened spare parts and it was at 64%. I then rebooted the phone into WM (6.5, energy ROM) and opened tbattery and it was at 64%
I chared my phone to 100% yester afternoon around 5pm and after heavy use; 5 minutes twitter updates, constant facebook, automaticl gmail check, and non-stop text, I'm still sitting around 50%.
The work they are doing is awesome.

Any battery meter needs to have several complete charge/recharge cycles to be completely accurate (charge phone to 100%, drain until it powers off by itself, repeat at least 3 times). So I would think Android on the TP2 is no different.
Anyway, if the OP got the message that the TP2 is "Andriod compatible", that that was the wrong impression, or at least an overstatement. This is an ongoing project. Given, one where some great folks are putting in tons of work and doing a wonderful job (and much appreciated). But its not perfect, and not the same as a phone which natively runs Android. If that was the OPs intent, then big mistake and he should have done more research before buying.
And its always been posted that the battery meter has issues. I don't know how he could puurchase a TP2 for android and didn't even read the 1st post of the thread.

Anyone tried buying those larger batteries off ebay? I saw one that's lager but isn't larger in size where you'd need a new back case.
How much difference is 1800mAh compared to 1500mAh anyway? Another hour of life?

[Q] Chinese 8" Tablet android 2.2 (cell standby?)

OK so i got a cheepo android tablet one of those Chinese jobs for 150 bucks it's got 2.2 froyo with some modding to the base 2.2... i think so cause where there would be a phone symbol on the side bar? there is the picture viewer. it's pretty quick, does flash 10.1 well(watchin vids on youtube and megavideo etc), surfs like a champ, got beautiful widgets with the live weather background... barely lags it at boot and wake up is no lag. but when i go into the settings/about device and look at battery use, it says "Cell Standby" 70% well this is a tablet, wifi only, no 3g no 4g no justin beiber 6g not even bluetooth. how can i get this to turn off?? it does not affect it's usage even when in "airplane" mode either. any idea's? i'm only getting 3-4 hours out of this thing when it's using wifi and casually surfing and bouncing to fb n back.
Also after playing with this for a few weeks i decided to get a viewsonic 10.1 and give this to my mom's, can u recommend anything i can do to this Chinese tablet to make it mom friendly? she already likes it. just wanna make it easier for her to use
I am kinda a noob to android, but a long time tech in the pc world.

soo bout 60 of you read the post and not a single one has anything to say? man this place is helpful....
nvm, i guess the only way you get help here is if you have no life and can spend 6-8 hours a day reading forums.
i see this is another one of those needed forums that the people that have the answers think "they have better things to do" way to keep the spirit of open source alive.
and go ahead and say oh they are working on this and that... reading new posts and replying take 15 min of your day i'll just figure it out myself... without this forum, better off without the elitists
not a single idea
not a single idea
Boost up
Hmm. You can root your phone and install application that can delete applications that you can't delete without it.
You need to delete phone and anything u wish to not have with it.
Watch it.
It is not safe beacuse I am sleepy now a lot. And having a lack of time to answer normaly and check it all.
But next to me is sleeping china joyplus m778 tablet waits to be rooted. But I am unavalilable beacuse of the programs freeze (super one click 2.1.1)
Your tablet is like a psyco wannabe mobile.
And that is the main reason of turning it up by itself, and spend so much battery.
i know my post is unusable but there is some valuable information I hope?.
Cheers

Rooting Verizon LG VK81036B / Android version 5.0.2

I've tried everything I can to root this device. I've tried towelroot, kingoroot, iroot, stumproot and nothing works. I picked it up from Verizon when I signed up with them and I've spent over 15 hours reading forums and trying everything I can to root my device. I feel like throwing it across the room because its such a pain and unrootable. Anyone got any advice? The last time I used clockwork mods was over 3 years ago so I'm completely ignorant to flashing these days and most of the forums are above me. Fokes write instructions as if others have done this stuff 100 times. I'm not that guy, but I want this device rooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Who ever gives me dumbed down walk through gets 50 bucks donated to them. I need to know from start to end. Talk to me like your teaching someone for the first time and I'll respect you with $50.00 bucks. I live in the Austin Texas area also. If you want to meet at a star bucks or something and show me first hand how to root it, I'll give you $100.00 bucks instead. But I want it rooted when we meet.
Before answering in further detail than my other reply (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64542883&postcount=28), you have access to a Windows PC, correct? Hopefully running Windows 7 or higher?

Very SLOW Galaxy Tab 3 8" with original Android

So, my Tab 3 8" has become very slow and it has never been updated, it still has the original 4.2.2. because I intentionally disabled updates because it used to run fast and perfect.
It is 20 months old now and it is in perfect mint condition without any hits, falls, nothing, always to read in bed. This is not relevant, I know, but to make clear it never even fell down and crashed or something.
I bought a Galaxy S3 some months earlier and it also became slow as a turtle around month 20 to the same point of being hard to use and it also kept the original Android 4.1.2.
I have formatted and reset it to factory a couple of times and it is SLOW from the moment you start it. So it is not any app.
I have also disabled all possible things that make it slow such as the energy saving features and so on. I have googled and tried some advices, but it doesn't help at all.
My impression is that these Samsung machines are programmed to stop working after 20 months... which is a robbery.
Any idea or suggestion, please. I still have 4 months warranty but I guess Samsung or Amazon will do nothing about it and I fear Samsung will force-install Android 4.4 KitKat, which I want to avoid at all cost because it loses the text reflow and forced zoom that I use a hell of a lot in Boat Browser.
Thank you,

Install a rom

Dead in the water?

Hello,
Is it possible to side-load twrp and rom without access to phone settings/ developer options? I have an old G4 that I cleaned up/ factory reset and was going to give to my daughter. Now it has the FRP on it and I can't get past it. Tried a bunch of things i've researched online and none of them work. Took it to Sprint and they can't do anything about it either. It seems Google has a monopoly on a lot of things. Is it possible to bring this thing back to life?
Android: 6.0
Android Security patch Level: 2017-03-01
Kernel Ver: 3.10.84
Build#: MRA58K
Software Ver: LS991ZVF
I can't say 100% for sure that this method might or might not work but it worked for me recently:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hxxdzfWHeg
Can't hurt to try. There's always someone out there looking at getting past FRP as new security patches and updates come out so, don't toss that G4 just yet, there's still hope that at some point someone will find yet another glitch and exploit it to bypass FRP.
Thanks
That one didn't work. I actually tried it earlier but amongst the videos on the side bar I did find one that worked. So, yay and thanks for the motivation. Wasn't quite ready to send it to the brick yard just yet. I'm stubborn like that. Where there's a will there's xda...
On a side note; google patched any 2016 flaws so for anyone searching this similar issue use the updated 2017 workaround videos. Thanks again.
Yah, I bought this H811 I have now about a week ago, it was of course FRP locked down (but it's not stolen, has a clean IMEI so it's good to go) and I got it basically for $12.50 along with a G3 for $12.50 as well ($25 for both devices). Both of them work great, and at the moment the G3 has been on for 124 hours (seriously) and it's at 47% on the battery - I'm not actually using it that much, only has about 38 minutes of SOT and it's been on Wi-Fi the whole time, just seeing how long the standby time can actually go, it says 102 hours left.
Anyway, I must have spent 9 hours watching videos on YouTube and reading a few hundred posts in my efforts until I finally found that video I provided a link for and that one worked the first time so I figured it was worth sharing.
FRP is a pain in the ass sometimes but at least it's not nearly as difficult to deal with aka impossible to defeat as iCloud is - if an iPhone has that forget it, it's nothing but scrap and spare parts at that point.
Congrats on making that G4 useful once more, let's hope it doesn't bootloop while your daughter is using it. I'd register it with LG if I were you (if you never did), if you do register it put in a date of something like September 15 2016 as the purchase date just in case you do have issues with it, that way you'll get some potential of a fix with LG for at least a few more months. If your daughter is going to play games on it those will heat it up regularly and the expansion-contraction of the heating/cooling is what's causing the micro-fissures that cause the bootloop to happen.
Anyway, good luck...
