Myn's roms are so good so I want to try synergy but every time I try downloading it, it saves as an htm. What am I doing wrong here?

You need to download from the site or mirror and before you download it should tell u if it's a HTML it a rare file

I.meant rar or zip file
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Ok so switch it to a rar?

Try a different browser.
If you're on a mac, Safari is known to do that with .zip files
Couldn't get it to work have to do it from the computer..

no, you cannot just switch an html file to an rar file.
You are right clicking the link to download, and you are downloading the html file for the mirror site, NOT the actual file. You need to click the link to get to the mirror, then there will be a link to download the zip file.
Yeah, better stick to using the computer on this one, the phone wants to use the htm which makes no sense. I used to always download them from the phone.

Does anyone know a work around to download from filesonic or RapidShare from mobile phone. I've tried byte tornado and filedownloader with no success
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
A work around? I've used both the stock browser and Dolphin HD to download from rapidshare without issue.
For some reason it wont let me. for instance if its a 120mb file. it will download like 18kb then stop.
I've never had any problems either.
RapidShare works on mine just fine.
Are you downloading the html link or the actual file?

It might be a network error, have you downloaded anything else to test it against today?
This has been a problem I've had since my Eris... been like this for a year... now using incredible and still can't...

Can someone confirm they can or can not download from filesonic for me?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
the solution is to try and find a file hosting service that doesn't suck. Mediafire and Megaupload work best for me (both on my phone and laptop).
Yeah point taken!

You can just pull the browser out of one ROM zip in the system/app folder and put it into the other ROM package and flash.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Not quite enough experienced to do that would love a flashablr zip file or installable apk

So I figured it out however my computer will not allow me to cut paste in system app nor copy paste its like it is write protected

Try using 7zip to open the ROM package and extract the browser from one and then drag and drop onto other ROM package.

Somehow whenever I go to download a zip file from an xda link. It tells me download unsuccessful? Is this a new feature on gingerbread? Is there a workaround?

Download astro file manager from market, then go to setting preference click box where it says enable internet downloads.

Or search for "crutch" on xda.

Try using Dolphin, Boat Browser, or Opera. These always work for me when the stock browser fails.

Another member was having the same problem in another thread. Below is my quoted advice:
Download this app (it's tiny) from the market. It works with your native browser by unlocking it's ability to download files of all types. Install it and open it. Arrow back out. Then open your browser and download your file like usual. You should be able to download any file of any type from now on.
