[Q] CM9 alpha1 + tap tap revenge

yes i recently download a rom ,(CM9 alpha1: Android 4.0.3 for Samsung Epic 4G) and i follow the instructions correctly and i love the rom and i want to keep it but i cant play my favorite game tap tap revenge ,there and error that it gives or a bug
there is a video below

can someone help me to fix this ?

Then don't use it. It is an Alpha which means a lot of things won't work. Put your phone on stock or a stable custom TW ROM. Or CM7 is in release candidate so try that.

Its listed in the cm9 staus / bugs that games that use double touch input or whatever you'd like to call it cause an error where it believes all fingers have been lifted if just one is...

An Alpha ROM by definition is unapologetically cantankerousness at random for any reason and at any time. The "fix" is to wait for an RC of the CM9 ROM and then revisit this issue at that time. At this point the devs just want to get the core system stable and efficient....or so says me.
A quick trip to the market will find that "tap tap," besides having the 2nd most juvenile name in the history of software, also seems to be suffering wide spread force close problems with any and all versions of Android.
If you really feel the need to yank all of your hair out try contacting the game publisher to see if "tap tap" is ICS compatible in the first place.

Is this really a post? We don't care if something isn't working right for you.

This happens because they had to reverse engineer the touch driver IIRC.

Yes, the app is known to be bugged across several platforms. But it is safe to say that many apps will have difficulty on CM9 being an Alpha. Lots of things are still in development on it. Like Telenav 7 instantly Force closes, but Telenav 6 runs, but may force close occasionally.

I just came from the Nokia n900 and having so many things working on the phone is a refreshing change! Ive lurked around and read a lot! As a result ive succesfully rooted my phone and have even tried out a few custom roms! However I have a question about a ROM im currently using but I cant post in the dev forum yet so I figured ill try here. Im currently using the digital warfare ROM and ive noticed that my powersave feature does not seem to work correctly. It will kick in regardless of the battery percentage I set. So ive just left it off for now. can someone help?

First I want to give you huge props for actually reading and doing all that on your own instead of posting a ton of useless threads with questions that can easily be found! But to answer your question, the My Account app has its own power save feature, try going into that app and adjusting it from there or just disabling it all together. Hope this helps.

Just disable the power saver in the my account app and use the power saver settings built into the phone, that's what I do.

Thanks! I can tell! making the transition from hw Kb to all touch is kinda weird but this.phone is so capable and powerful its awesome!

Welcome dude and yea i would just disable this phone is great with battery life anyways. One suggestion tho i would freeze tmobile my account all together in titanium backup or uninstall it tgats if u have it installed it actually messes with wifi. When your on wifi it will turn on 4g signal whenever data is requested which isnt good cuz u think ur using wifi the whole time. Ever since ive disabled tgat app i have not had a problem with wifi or 4g service. I actually think its a way for tmobile to snoop on our data. I made a thread about this and other people have confirmed this app to be the culprit. I actually was gonna take my phone back because i couldnt get wifi to stay connected so thats when i started investigating and found this

I remember someone posting some dialer codes where you can check how much data you have accumulated. I just don't know where I saw it. Post on the q&a to find put.

No im running at stock speeds

It's not unusual for a phone to get warm when running cpu/gpu intensive processes like games. It only becomes a problem when it gets incredibly hot and forces the phone to reboot or the battery gets too hot to touch.

Thanks. now i'm having a new problem. My phone will just randomly shut off and I cant turn it back on until I pull the battery. It has happened twice so far

is your phone hot when this happens? try darksides kernel. haven't had an issue.

not hot. i just flashed his new rom/kernel combo with a clean wipe and as i was messing around with milocker it did it again. just shut off on me. only way to bring it back is to pull the battery. very strange.

You using a new ROM? I know you said new ROM/kernel combo but that could imply same ROM new,kernel. If youre on the same ROM, check the thread to see if its an issue with it I guess. Could always try a new one and see if that fixes it. Let us know if you find out anything.

I use 3G Watchdog. It's available in the market. Has a nice little widget as well.

TSF Shell not showing up in android market, why?

Im running MIJJz blend ics rom version 1.2. Is this app not compatible with our phone or maybe just the rom that i am using? If anyone could see this app in the android market please pm me or reply here i really want this app. Thanks guys.

OK I don't know what gives, but I couldn't find it on my phone (GB) either either. But here is the work around.
I found it in Android Market on my computer and purchased it there. It made me choose which phone I wanted it installed on, so maybe it makes you pay for each device you have and that is causing us not to find it. As soon as I went to market on my phone, it was installed before I had a chance to hit the search button.

I am starting to get it slowly though. Maybe when I get back home and figure things out I will start a post... I am out of battery for now.

I purchased this app as well, its good but its missing some features the video on youtube showed. I was running the ICS leaked roms and none of them would work/compatible according to the market. I tried the market website and still didnt work, i had to revert to GB from Caulkin to get it after all. My initial impressions are mixed due to it still being a premature relase and not having all the features. So far one update was relased already so it seems like a good thing.

I purchased it and installed it yesterday on CM9. Ended up having to wipe data, and upon going back to the Market to install it, I can't find it anywhere. Dubious indeed.

So I attempted editing the build.prop as many have done to fix issues with the Chrome Beta browser, and still no luck getting this to show up. I liked the launcher while I was using it yesterday, but I'm enjoying CM9 more, so hopefully someone (likely won't be me) can figure out a way to get this to show up.

Its incompatible because its 17.00 fux that stuff ..... 4 maybe 5 bucks for a launcher OK but 17 ...come on I will call ice t at law & order svu , they trying to rape people

yep, 17 bucks is wrong for a launcher....

You know, I don't care about the $17 bucks that much...... IF its something I like and want. I wish they would put out a free version that is only good for a few days, something like 3-7 days, so that we could try it out before dropping $17.

Strange!!

flashed swiftkey flow zip form recovery that i downloaded from xda. now my data is all messed up i don't get 3g or 4g anymore just E and G?? What the hell is G?? Never seen this before. Running CM10 stable. restored rom...nothing. restored to stock rooted and still the same.
Any ideas?

swiftkey flow is an open beta, so anyone can download it and use it.
op, did you make a backup beforehand? if not, i would suggest reflashing your rom and simply installing the apk of swiftkey flow. but only if your imei is intact.

Sorry but that's above my pay grade. First thing I did when I got my phone is back it up. I have no idea how to inject it without a backup.

I found it complicated too when it happened to me. But, I got through it. Just read and re-read...and go through the motions in your head before doing it. I used the combination of 2 sources. Here first and then here. Good luck.

okay...**** man what an ordeal that was!! but i did it finally. got my phone up and running but now i have a couple of questions.
on stock rom(stock rogers rooted) shows 4g mostly but when i revert back to cm10 stable it bounces from 3g to h+. okay so i did a little comparison and while on stock it flips from HSPA+ 15 and UMTS: 3 but it only shows 4g. on cm10 it flips from HSPAP - 15 and UMTS: 3 but when it does that it shows 4g and 3g respectively. Now i know that custom roms especially this one shows "true" data and that they don't really align with the stock but i don't remember ever seeing 3g. Also, the current modem is 1747MVLLH1 but it doesn't match the two modems listed in another post titled "complete modem list" and they are: I747MVLLE8 and/or I747MLALH1. do i have the right modem?

yes all the ports i make i save links to the main threads and iplan to update my ports within 1-3 days of a new official release

Good deal. I finally got this downloaded. Boots right up and everything working as far as I can tell. I'm digging it. Its fast and has plenty of options. The boot animation is spiffy as well!

i fixed the phone issue it was the phone apps so i switched it so it wont FC anymore uploading now and posting 5 mins guys thanx

i did a straight across both were 4.2.2 but idk what happen the phone apk was smaller than the one i replaced it with to make it work. but i got it all figured out lol thanx

Sorry my bad. The phone rings once and then force closes with a message something along the lines of app not responding, or something like that. Sorry. I've already restored a nandroid backup and I can't remember the exact wording of the error message. But yes, it was a phone process error.
