Astro file explorer crashing when network explored - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone else who has astro has the network smb working? It crashes when I try to get onto my home network..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App

astro's SMB module doesn't work in andriod 2.3. The problem has been known for months but the developer seems no longer working on the app. I'm using ES file explorer now.

Take the ES Datei Explorer, works great!

Was Working in Android 4.4.2
This was working in CrombiKK version 4.4.2 now seems to be crashing. swapped to ES File manger, Far far better anyway

Dropbox I have found to be the best for me.
ES file Explorer can access network drivers.
WIFI transfers aren't as fast as via USB though.
I haven't tried accessing my files directly from my PC, only through a HDD hooked up to my awesome router .
Hi mate, im not an expert or anything, but ive tried BROWSIX which does the job for me. Its free frm the market. Hope that helps

WiFi Explorer is the best out there Been using it for months without any issues
-----------------------------
ES File Explorer works best for me.
QuickSSHd if you like SSH
With Samba Filesharing you can access your SD-Card on the phone from your windows PC via network share \\ANDROID\SD-Card (for example).
Very easy to use and loads up automatically if Wifi is conncted.
I use it because it's easier to access to phone from a pc than vice versa...
Do any of those applications allow you to play an music or video file from a shared drive? I mean without having to fully transfer the file onto the DHD.

[Q] wifi file transfer

Is there a wifi file transfer app that can mostly or completely supplement the lack of usb mass storage?
if i understand what you mean.. There is no lack... just plug it and you have 16gb like you would if it have an SD card.
it also supports wifi-direct
I also use Dropbox... (linked in my signature)
Not sure what you're wanting to do over wifi that you can't over USB but you could use an app like Samba Filesharing https://market.android.com/details?...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5mdW5reWZyZXNoLnNhbWJhIl0. to access the phone over your network.

Network Storage access App

I was wondering if there were any network storage access apps out there for the N7. I'm not looking to stream to it, I'm mainly looking to see/access the files in their native format from my home server to my N7.
Search play store for smb
AndSMB works for me

FX File explorer one of my fav for accessing ftp and lan..
ALSO LIKE xplore.. dual pain explorer also good for ftp lan local Picassa and so on.. NEW to me but i love the dual pane switch thing in this one..
ES FILE ESPLORER Very popular tired and true by many as one of the best.
ASTRO One of the very first and has a app for anything add on modules .
The list can go on and on.
two not very popular are fx explorer and xplore .. give them a try .. My two fav.. For working with ROOT FILES NOTHING BEATS ROOT Explorer.. everyone who owns android should own this one..
Good Luck
ES Explorer
It has LAN, 6 different cloud storages that you can link, and it has root Explorer built in (enable this feature in options menu). I stream movies from my buddys NAS with this file Explorer. It's free, at least check it out.

[Q] Moved a video from DCIM/Camera to temp and it's gone

I wonder if anyone can offer me any help
I moved an MP4 video file from the default location of DCIM/Camera to sdcard/temp using ES File Explorer and the progress reported it had moved fine. It was moved from the original location but wasn't in the new location
I checked other sdcard locations like mnt/sdcard/temp but no luck
I assumed I'd done something stupid so I did it again with another video file and the same result no file in either location
I fired up root explorer and searched for all mp4 s but it can't find them ( I'm not rooted ) and I've plugged it in to my MAC and used Android File Transfer to look for them and again no dice.
Anyone any idea what has happened ?
Si
You could try this player (MX player)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad
It's found a couple missing videos for me in the past. Worth a shot and its a great player either way.
Just open it and it shows all the videos/locations on your phone.

Thanks for trying to help but that app didn't even see my videos I knew were there

Hmmm... That's odd

I was wondering if I or the app didn't have rights to the temp folder on the SD card and some how the moving of files failed or at least the write failed
It's all a bit odd
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I think i know what happened.
When you move things to TEMP they get deleted after a while. Which Is REALLY annoying
Really......that would make sense I guess
Note to self...don't use the temp folder

What I find odd, too, is that your other videos weren't detected by MX player.

Huge slow downs & filled storage

My LG Optimus G is constantly getting massive slow-downs where I need to hold down the power button to restart it. There is also a ton of space being used even though I have only used 14.5 GB (No where near the 25.04 GB it says it has in total...) according to the storage analyzer. However, it says there is only 777 MB available. Therefore there is stuff in the root directory that is filling up the phone.
Use ES file explorer to find the files you possibly have

The best thing for the slwdowns is to root and use the app lagfix.

I've used ES File Explorer and other explorers but they don't say the folder size, only the size of files.

Just installed LagFix so I'll see how that goes.
I loading a new rom and it's fine now. Put on MIUI and it's fantastic. It seems faster and smoother than the project dokdo kitkat rom I had previoualy
