Swype not installable after ROM flash and Titanium backup - G2 and Desire Z Themes and Apps

Hi,
I had Swype installed previously, and I just flashed to the latest rmk Gingerbread ROM, and did a Titanium backup/restore of the Swype installer. After that I ran the Swype installer, which started downloading Swype, then prompted me to install it. However when I tapped on Install, the next screen said "Application not installed". I tried this twice with the same results.
How do I reinstall Swype?
Thanks.

Just go to beta.swype.com and follow instructions there

There's no need to reinstall the installer, am sure you could just install the app and data if you've already have a backup of it.
I've done it myself.

Thanks I just uninstalled the swype installer, downloaded it from the market instead of restore it via titanium backup, and redid the entire installation process and it worked.
Looks like titanium backup doesn't work for swype...

Custom ROMs not having market app

Im new to flashing roms/kernels so this might be a stupid question, but i cant seem to find an answer anywhere. How come some roms dont have the market app on them? Ive been doing a factory reset, cache wipe and dalvich cach wipe before each rom flash. Am i doing something wrong?
If you've been trying to flash CM7, you have to flash the latest gapps [google apps] with it. Also some developers make a separate flash with the rom, in case they are themed, and include them in their opening post.
Assuming you've backed up, as you were supposed to, prior to flashing anything, you should have a com.android.vending file to restore from.
Also, many have recommended using Astro or Titanium Backup to backup your applications, com.android.vending (Market) being backed up if you chose to back up all applications. So, you can always go in there and make it happen.
I flashed once and there was a themed version of the Market included and it looked great, but stopped working after the third entry, so I had to install my own backup to get it running.
Just an option.
I had a problem with this too, but i just needed to download the google apps package for cm7

There are explicit instructions with CM7 about making sure you get GApps. How did you miss it!

[Q] I can't install any app in CM7

Hello again guys...
I recently installed CM7 on my Defy, then I installed Titanium Backup and changed some options, but now, I can't install anything.
When I try to install any app, the installer says: "aplication not installed".
I think that I froze any app that can't be froze, but I uninstalled Titanium Backup, to try to install it again, but now I can't install it too.
Then I thought in reinstall CM7, but I can't install custom recovery!!!
Now what should I do?
Can I install a app by terminal?
wipe then flash again then do the whole proces of installing cm7
I did the whole process again, and now it's working!
Thanks...

[Q] Google services framework stopped after nandroid restore.

Hi,
After rooting and trying some ROM's out i wanted to go back to an 'old' ROM from which I had a nandroid backup. It went smooth the first time but the second time I got a error saying that Google services framework stopped working.
Only the stock app worked and none of my other installed apps did.
I couldn't even open the settings menu nor could i open Titanium backup.
I then reflashed the ROM and manually copied some TB backup folders but lost all other data.
Someone has an idea about this?

I'm using Amon_RA atm.
Still no fix?...
try re-flashing recovery and then do the restore again. If you don't know how check the guide in my link.

So I rooted. What next?

So I root my Note 2 after having stock for about 2 months. What can I do now that I am rooted. And because my status is modified do I not receive OTA updates now?
Get Titanium Backup to backup apps and their settings.
Get GooManager from the play store. "Install OpenRecoveryScript" to install TWRP. It's the recovery program you'll use to backup your whole system and install ROMs and themes.
In recovery, make a backup of your system.
Try out some ROMs. See what you like.
Tip: If you're not already using a launcher program, try one like Nova. Then you won't have to put all your apps and widgets back on your home pages. Once you've re-installed everything with Titanium, Nova will put everything back where it was. This saves a big step when trying different ROMs.
First is titanium, get the pro version, it's worth it. Back up then delete bloatware, then start romming, goo manager makes it almost too easy, I still use our on my sensation.

I think you don't have complete root, root with vroot 1.7 or later & install busybox through Flashtool, then try Uninstalling apps with Titanium Backup
