Any HELP please !!!!!

Use irc from alpharev. They are the experts, so ask them.

Had the same problem
I used Alpharev X instead. Worked perfectly.
http://alpharev.nl/x/beta/
Little tip: when asked for the beta code, copy it from the webpage and paste it into the terminal, the I and l are quite similar

What rom have you got (sense or not)? It is recommended to flash the hboot with alpharev on the stock rom (or at least a sense one - preferred without app2sd,...)

Yes, I was using an app2sd rom and that was the problem... I tried it after flashing a stock rom and everything went great
Thanks for your reply ^_^

[Q] S-off questions

1. i am using coolsense hd v10 rom, is it ok to s-off? or do i need the stock rom

Are you serious?
what u mean
It doesn't matter, which rom you are using. I used the CD-method to S-Off my Desire, but I think it should also work using vmware.
You can't prevent alpharev from changing your splash screen, but there are tools in this forum, which allow you to change it to whatever you want afterwards.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
You can change the splash screen with Android Flasher - It can be found in the Developement sub-forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
If you need a stock ROM, then you can either flash the RUU (You lose Root, S-Off) or flash a pre-rooted stock ROM (can be found in the Developement sub-forum).
S-Off via VMWare can be done, but if you are stuck use the USB or CD method instead (people reported issues with VMWare).
dont try to do S-OFF unless you are running stock rooted ROM
best is to run a RUU, then root, then go s-off
if you try to S-OFF while on a2sd+ or data2xxx rom, procedure will fail, and it might brick your phone (it fails after going past STEP3 - DONT UNPLUG YOUR P_HONE OR U WILL BRICK IT) but i unplugged it, and was ok, then RUU and again whole thing worked
I had problems with s-off on my stock sense rom (rooted).
I made a goldcard, rooted, then alpharev would not recognise my device.
Soon as I switched to rooted aosp rom (oxygen) it was fine!

Just flash stock rooted froyo, done the trick for me.
OP, just search for how to s-off, there are answers to all you questions available. I know that, as i only recently s-offed myself.
So, can i do this?
1. do nandroid backup
2. use froyo asia wwe ruu(im from singapore)
3. root with unrevoked
4. s-off with vmware
5. restore
But err, one question, if i was damn unlucky and brick my device, can i just use the RUU and restore it back?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069600
Just follow the guide on the thread. If you brick your device, there is no way back. That's why its called brick. There are semi bricks, which can be fixed.

hi my HTC Desire says PVT1 S-OFF already
this make any difference between AlphaRev S-off?? or i need to go through this method also??
Just install a rom without A2SD (like Leedroid 2.4.1 no-A2SD or Teppic's rom) and then you can S-OFF your desire. I advice you to write the .img on a cd and then boot on this, you won't encounter any issue.
Afterwards you can apply a new splash on your Desire, like the stock one (which is available on alpharev website).

Error while performing S-off procedure

Hello folks,
First of all I must say that Xda is best place for android user..
Ok..Here is the problem
I tried to S-Off my desire,so I downloaded AlphaRev 1.8 HBOOT reflash utility
(MD5SUM: 3ca4c4803fe1eb309c980420788ad3fe )
I verified the Md5 sum too..After that I burned it on a Cd..
I then rebooted my pc and
When it asked 'Do you want to flash alpharev Recovery?' My answer was NO
everything went fine till step 3..Where it says If you unplug, you will Brick..In this step I got some error..I have uploaded pic of that error

Can any one tell what went wrong??
I believe I got that when i tried to s-off,
I tried a diff usb port on the 3rd time it completed,
I found out as well that it doesnt play too nice with non AOSP roms - its still possible to do but u might get errors.
Best advice I can give is backup your current rom and install a AOSP rom and try again then when it completes apply backup and u should be good to go
edit:- I also chose No to alpharev recovery on 2nd/3rd attempt
I think you must have a froyo official rom
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
I also chose no to installing recovery whilst running s-off. I could only get it to work by flashing an aosp rooted rom (I used oxygen), prior to that it consistently failed to recognise my device.
You can always flash back to leedroid or other sense rom after gaining s-off.
1.) Make a complete nandroid-backup
2.) Flash an aosp-froyo-rom like defrost:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=690477
3.) Do the s-off-procedure with live-cd
4.) Restore nandroid-backup
5.) Have fun with s-off and previous rom
I followed these steps and it worked fine without any problems. No warranty for any damage! If problems still exits, use the irc-channel of alpharev.
Thanks for advice..will flash a Aosp and let you know..
Btw flashing the Aosp rom is same as flashing any other rom or does it requires some special techinque??
Normal i just put rom.zip in sd card, go to recovry do a full wipe and then install zip from sd card..
I have never tried Aosp so was just a lil curious..

For me S-off got stuck while flashing splash screen, hboot was successful. Then it ended up by booting into bootloader. Flashing a ROM fixed it. Now am using Reflex S 2.0.41.
you need a rom without data2ext or a2sd+ or any of this solutions
so try with stock rooted rom, or some AOSP without these scripts
just install this rom and repeat the procedure and you r good to go

Depends which ASOP ROM.
I had trouble to S-OFF when I was on Gingervillan, but after flashing my phone with an old Redux ROM, I was able to S-OFF it.
I think the stock rooted ROMs are the best bet for safe S-OFF though.

Me too, it works with stock froyo - btw if u use the latest ruu you have hboot 0.93.
You can use unrevoked to root your desire and s-off is working.

[Q] Upgrade HBOOT in order to S-OFF

hi guys,
I am trying to s-off my Telus Desire GSM with hboot .83.
I tried to use the alpharev cd method and it failed.
I was told i can flash an RUU with an upgraded HBOOT (.93) which would then allow me to use the new revolutionary method of S-OFF.
My question is, which RUU is safe to install that will still allow me to get root after and and also contains the new HBOOT so i can s-off? Or is this not the correct way to go about it?
Thanks
Why did alpharev fail? Did you try to get help in alpharev irc channel?
If you flash official gingerbread update by HTC, hboot gets updated to version 1.xxx and you can try to go s-off and root with revolutionary.
TouchPaled from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Alpharev fails with Gingerbread roms.
This is your case?
Use the official RUU from htcdev.com

thats not true..alpharev fails with a2sd/data2sd roms and with hboot 1.x
I was using a gingerbread rom without A2SD when I tried the alpharev CD version.
My previous rom was A2SD so i loaded one that wasn't but alpharev still failed with the unary operator expected error.
I went into the IRC channel and they said the CD method was deprecated now in favour of revolutionary. They recommended I flash an RUU with a newer bootloader and then use revolutionary for s-off.

probably run the htc gingerbread ruu and then revolutionary is much easy..but the error unary operator is related to a rom with a2sd usually..what the rom u was using when tried with alpharev?
I was using the smallest rom I could find, FLUX without a2sd.
Is rooting/s-off from the stock HTC Gingerbread RUU always successful?

if u flash succesfull the ruu and the phone boot (some users reported bootloop just after the ruu..i dont know how much true), revolutionary will go easily..u can also try to flash a rom like cm7 or oxygen and try alpharev again
Thanks for the info. I might try it with cyanogen and alpharev and see how it goes.
Hello,
bravo-gsm, rooted by unrevoked, hboot 0.83, radio 5.17 and cm7.1.0rc1: same problem.
phone is stuck after alpharev0.8's first boot (after step 1/3, automatic phone reboot, "Dozing off for about a minute while we wait").
#revolutionary told me to upgrade hboot to 0.93 or 1.02
Is there any other way than playing with hboot (before alpharev/revolutionary plays with it itself) ?
I tried some roms without "data2ext*" with no luck.
I doubt it comes from the rom itself since the process (first alpharev's boot) stays stuck in hboot.
Flashing RUU roms is quite frightening since it is not clear whether they ship hboots, and if yes which versions.
Any suggestion ?
The problem is not your hboot. The problem is you are not using a rooted stock Rom. Flash teppic74's rooted stock Froyo or restore your first nandroid, then it will work

Thanks !
That worked but that was not the only problem.
The other one was between the chair and the keyboard.
As I did not want to burn a cd for a one time use, I decided that extracting and executing binaries from alpharev's iso would do it. And of course I was wrong. It was (silently!) failing because of probably many reasons, one of them was the use of /data directory which hardly exists in standard linux distributions.
I managed to make a bootable usb stick from the iso thanks to linux's unetbootin.
Then the s-off automagically succeeded. Flashing patched hboot did not succeed using the PB99IMG method (cid problem, probably unknown brand?). But the fastboot method made it.
After nandroid restore, free space jumped from ~20MB to ~150MB.
This is just great. I'm impressed by all the work which is beeing done for our phones.
Thanks everybody.

WiFi issues
Hi there,
i'm new to xda, but not new in getting root, flashing ROMs, Radios, Recovery etc...
My problem ist the WiFi connection, connection is very bad, i cannot go far away from the WiFi Router/Access Point. The singnal is getting lost very very fast. I have a second Desire here with pre-rooted stock GB ROM, there it is much better!
Here some information about my device:
Runnymede AIO 6.0.4.1 (Had same issue in all versions before)
Droidzone Kernel from Aroma Installer
Newest Radio!
Stock HBoot with APP2SD
Did someone have the same problems and a solution for me? Maybe another Kernel? Or shoud i try another Sense 3.5 ROM (insertcoin, RSK, ...?) I don't linke AOSP and ICS is too buggy for me.

I'm fairly new to this and only had this ROM installed for a few days (so experts, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong), but this ROM has a form of A2SD built into it that operates automatically. Provided that your ext4 partition is 1GB+, you should have plenty of room for your apps without changing hboots. Just an idea if you don't want to go to the trouble of researching this extra step.

Use your other android phone for the goldcard. Then flash the 2.2 WWE RUU. If that fails, use the 2.3 one.
Thanx bortak, i'll try..
Bortak, why adb still cant find my device? for Fastboot it's ok...
I'm preety sure you won't be able to do what you're up to with Alpharev cause you have 0.93 hboot, you need revolutionary for that.
But, if you use 2.2 RUU it can happen to downgrade hboot to 0.88 so then you can try with Alpharev.
