Thats kinnda what I did I think....And the problem is that my phone is stuck on htc logo screen. So now I would be happy just to get back to working phone.

Can you get in to the hboot by starting phone by pressing volume down + power? And I think latest ruu is the ruu_bravo_froyo_htc_wwe_2.29.405.5

Well I need ruu for europe cuz im theere. And yes,I can get into hboot. From there I tryed recovery.

I'm from europe too and the right ruu for mine phone is the RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00. 32U_5.11.05.27
And i think you have to use that one because of the hboot. the ruu you are using have a old hboot version and i dont think the ruu will downgrade hboot..
But if you can enter fasboot use that to flash a recovery and wipe youre phone then install a custome room on it.

AlphaRev
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11

Before installing RUU, make sura that you have installed Alpharev stock hboot
1. download from alpharev.nl the file "bravo_alphaspl.img" then put it on your desire with fastboot
2. install RUU

Also take care to not flash versions older than 2.0 unless you're sure that you have a AMOLED and not SLCD.

Unless the computer/phone has ESP, yes, both adb and fastboot need a cable connection!
If you dont want to do it over cable, find the corresponding PB99IMG and follow the PB99IMG method

Use the attached file.
Put it in the root of your card (not in any folder)
Reboot by pressing Vol- and Power button.
When asked to update, confirm with Vol -
This should give you a working recovery. Then you can flash any rom as you usually do, and at that instance, your bootloops will be solved too.
After this, if you still wish to return Hboot to Stock (without losing S-Off), you can use this PB99IMG. <Make sure you rename it to the same name as the previous file after deleting the former.

[Q] Bricked Desire plz help

hello everybody...
a friend of mine just gave me his desire, he bought a used one and tried something to update its rom, but now its bricked and its in my hand to be fixed.
the problem is that it doesnt boot at all... i mean when i press power button to make it on, the htc logo appears and starts again and again with a little VIBRATE. so i can say that its in a boot loop.
ok when i press vol down and power button it goes into the boot loader, where it is written that its S-ON with boot loader .93, and when i click on recovery it goes into the boot loop like i wrote above.
i also have a Desire HTC and it is rooted using unrevoked and i m running an HD rom over it. its a complete packaged phone...
i have a knowlege how to root and etc. but in this bricked desire case i dont know what to do. coz it never happened to me... i also searched the forum for a solution, didnt got any.
please help me in this matter... ask me question and please give me a solution,/

i tried to install the rom by downloading this RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00. 32U_5.11.05.27_release
i think it is working, but it says while installing that from image 2.33..... to imrage 2.29.... and then it tries to push everyting i mean tryies to run its setup and within 2 min it says Customer ID error, try someother package...
edit 1: i itried your way also by copying that zip file and then pasting it on the sd card... i sucessfully loaded in fastboot but i think the same error as above,,, CID error...
now what can i do?
edit 2: Have also tried unrevoked in fastboot mode... power on fastboot usb and then starting unrevoked, but unrevoked keep saying to connect device and enable usb debugging mode. nothing happens
thanks Hassan
1. Download this:
http://www.multiupload.com/LEJCW182AH
2. Follow this guide to get the ZIP out of the RUU and flash off the SD card:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10509780&postcount=102
Assuming the phone is unbranded it'll work, or at least get the phone booting again. If it fails flashing the ROM for any reason then it's a branded phone and you'll need to speak to the seller to find out where it's from

but going into vol down and menu and then pressing recovery also enables the boot loop with htc white screen and vibrate on everyboot
I think that easier way not loosing the root would be flash once again recovery were you using clockwork recovery? Beside if the phone is branded you will need a goldcard
so i think you should instal adb http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
then you need to recovery image which you can find here http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-ha...a-recovery-ra-desire-v2-0-1-27-11-2010-a.html
put recovery on c drive sdk folder and open cmd on your windows and put a command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
U can try to put ur phone on bootloader, then plug it to ur pc and run the RUU from windows..It should restore all, after that u can root it with unrevoked and do what u want..

Lothaen, come on, u too? the revolutionary/alpharev hbootS have a downgrader protection..Mean nothing can overwriting the hboot (even an official ruu can't overwrite/change it)...To allow to change hboot u have to flash the downgrader hboot that u can find on the aplharev site..Then, after flashed the downgrader hboot (still s-off) the hboot is no more protected, then u can run the ruu..and this time the ruu will overwrite the hboot, giving u s-on....
The question is why everyone (looks the lot threads coming up) need s-on, just after u got s-off? lol
All of us need to know how to make S-ON again....because we still keep the warranty on this way

hehe - i never looked into it as i was s-on for a long time and now i s-off'd i thought nothing of it...
i did assume as the hboot was rolled UP some versions then it wouldn't overwrite with an older version easily, but i only tested it today as i was having issues with my market and wanted to check it wasnt a rom
only reason for s-on really is warranty?

No, flash the zip from the recovery
Do you want root ur current gb rom? Or do you want flash an other custom rom that u can find on the development section?
In both cases, boot ur phone into recovery:
-go on settings/application and untick fast boot (if u have it enabled)
-power off completely ur phone
-press and HOLD volume down, then press (still holding vol down) the power button and wait for the bootloader screen to show up
-select recovery with the volume keys and confirm with the power button
Then to root ur current rom flash this zip
Otherwise, if u want flash a different rom, already rooted, choice one from the development section and follow the thread rom instruction
Lot of tutorials around how to use the recovery (backup, flash, restore) if u need it

[Q] How to find what HBoot?

Hi
I have successfully rooted and s-off'ed my HTC Desire using the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
But im confused by HBOOT and ROM's having CM7 and A2SD versions. I initially flashed the insertcoin ROM using the A2SD version and then decided to try SGBS again using the A2SD version. But am I safe to use the CM7 version? How do I know what HBOOT i have on my phone? If I boot holding down the volume etc i see HBOOT 0.93.0001.
I understand CM7 stores some files on the internal memeory so im thinking things might be slightly quicker if i use the CM7 version ROMS.
Thanks

To flash from Your phone via zip you need the pb99img.zip. just make sure you read the steps on the alpharev web site ad you need to rename the file and check the md5

Either download the PB99IMG file from AlphaRev, rename to PB99IMG.zip, place it at the root of your sdcard and flash via bootloader. Or download the IMG file, enter fastboot mode and connect to your computer, then use fastboot flasher or the likes of it or use fastboot flash hboot "name of img" in command prompt.
Eg. To flash CM7r2 hBOOT via command prompt just connect the phone to your computer in fastboot mode, 'fastboot devices' to ensure your phone is recognized and then 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl-cm7r2.img'.
Sent from my HTC Original Desire with Beats Audio using Tapatalk
When you enter fastboot mode, youve got your hboot written at the top of the screen (if it says "alpharev" its stock hboot, just s-offed).
Edit:
If you havent flashed any hboot except for having your phone s-offed, you should have stock hboot then. You can change your hboot easily by using android flasher (you can download it from: http://deltaxent.com.au/af/download.php?device=desire), youve got to be in the fastboot mode and have all needed drivers.
And, to be clear, hboot doesnt make any I/O operations faster, it just partition your internal memory for a different parts of a rom (simplified explanation and im not completely sure of that).
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

If your bootloader says hboot 0.93.0001, you're on stock boot.
Also, if you would be on any other, it would be clearly stated in your bootloader (cm7r2 instead of 0.93.0001). I'm on stock myself, but asked the same question couple of days ago .

Thanks for all the advice and help. I'm going to stick with stock for now.
you might not, because you see, different ROMs need different HBoots. Most work with the stock one, but many require the CM7 r2 too.

Trying to unroot

Okay, so S-OFF on my phone. I tried to do the forever unroot zip, but that didn't work..so i flashed the stock PC36IMG.zip file. Now the phone doesn't boot at all..it gets stuck at the white htc evo 4g screen. Recovery mode is inaccessible (has the evo with a red triangle). Is there anyway to fix this?
Yes, but need more info from your bootloader, especially your Hoot version and radio numbers.

You can't flash that zip, because your HBOOT is a newer version than the one which you're trying to flash. Red triangle, is the recovery, stock recovery. If you push vol up + power, you'll see android recovery system. Try running an RUU of the stock ROM you want.

Only way of doing that is from within an operational phone, Android environment. Or via custom recovery. Since yours isn't booting. Boot your bootloader, choose fastboot and flash a custom recovery via cmd prompt. From within the recovery you can mount the phone, turning the SD card in your phone into a flash drive on your computer.

Get your phone to that red triangle screen, run the RUU on your desktop (follow steps), connect your phone. Should load the ROM for you. RUU is available here.

I am downloading it now, but i thought RUU was a type of rom..if so, how do i run it on the computer?
I know how to root, but have never done this before.

I tried flashing the s-on tool several times, but it didn't work. Iv'e had s-off for a while now, but couldn't actually flash roms for some reason..

A RUU is an executable file that runs on your computer environment which will push the ROM to your phone via sync cable. RUU= ROM update/upgrade utility.
Must you have S-On, to switch carriers, or do you just need the stock ROM on your phone?

I didn't see that you had clockworkmod as your recovery before. That's probably why it didn't work. I agree with the above; I'd just flash a stock rooted ROM. Just download the PC36IMG.zip for RA-supersonic v2.3 and put it on the root of your sd card (you can take it out of the device and connect it to a computer using a card reader) to flash in bootloader.
My phones touch screen is acting up..and i think it was the rom.
Fastboot > RUU > PC36IMG (hboot 2.16.00001 S-ON) > RUU. Best way in my opinion.

Bravo with SHIP S-OFF unable to flash with fastboot

Hi all, after reading through several tutorials including Bortak's and asking questions in chat rooms, I finally felt like I need to reach out for help on the forum. I have a HTC Desire that was hanging on white HTC screen and had no recovery. I have flashed with AlphaRev HBOOT and it now shows the following in Bootloader:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23
I have tried flashing CWM recovery but when I try to load recovery from the Bootloader it just vibrates 7 times and then vibrates. I just want to get the phone working again, but I am not sure what I need to do or what ROM/RUU I need to use. Also, when I try to flash from fastboot it gives me: "FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
Is this something to do with SHIP S-OFF and not ENG S-OFF. I think getting recovery working is the first step but I am lost.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I bought the device like this with SHIP S-OFF. It was fine, and then it started hanging at the white HTC screen, and would only boot up correctly once every handful of times. I assumed the ROM was unstable and wanted to flash a stable version of CM 7. However when I realised that there was no recovery I resorted to Fastboot. I then flashed an RUU zip (gingerbread) via fastboot and now it wont start at all, instead it keeps restarting. I have flashed CWM via fastboot to try and get recovery working but when I select recovery from bootloader it just vibrates 7 times.
My objective now - just to get the phone working again
when u hold volume down + power, what hboot is in the bootloader? (pink at top) also u could tried android flasher or the PB899IMG method to install recovery.

The pink at the top is "--- Alpharev ---". I did try to use Android flasher to flash recovery in fastboot mode but it says I need ENG bootloader or something.
oh rite. im not really sure im afraid, but i think u will have to use the bravo_downgrade.img from Alpharev or the PB99IMG_downgrade if u cant use fastboot commands then run a ruu. i think when u tried the ruu and it failed it was because ur hboot is 6.93.1002 which cant be overwritten by an ruu. The ruu to use would be the exact 1 for ur phone - devise, brand, region ect or use the 2.3 upgrade which is for all and can be found at HTCDev/ kernel source code/ see downloads/ filter by device (desire) below check other then find files, then ul see 2.3 ruu upgrade..
just wait and maybe some1 can confirm this first before trying it or if they have an answer

Do you think the fact it is SHIP S-OFF and not ENG S-OFF have anything to do with it?

check out bortak's guide. for what i know (since surfing xda), it is wrong to flash a ruu while you have a 'custom' hboot (the hboot is very important. you can see what hboot you have on the pink line. in fastboot screen. is it Alpharev Data++, Alpharev cm7r2?) but, as long as the screen of the phone is 'alive', there's always a solution.
for more info, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17829936
good luck.

It's not a problem to run RUU if you have custom hboot as long as it have stock partition table. Just try to flash downgrade from alpharev site and then run RUU from your PC.

OK so I downgraded the HBOOT using the downgrader from AlphaRev, then I ran the RUU for Android 2.3, but it still wont boot up. White screen appears for about 10 seconds then keeps restarting. Also the same happens when I try to open recovery from Bootloader. After running the RUU my bootloader shows the following:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-1.02.0001
MICROP-031d
RADIO-5.17.05.23
Any suggestions what to do next?
strange, when i used the downgrader (PB99IMG) it made me s-on then i ran the 2.3 ruu upgrade then used revolutionay to s-off. (dont ask why) lol
edit: when i used the 2.3 ruu i extracted the rom.zip and renamed it PB99IMG and ran it that way

the PB99IMG method didnt work for me - it didnt prompt me to update at all. It just keeps restarting at the HTC screen. Fastboot is still not letting me flash anything its saying FAILED: (remote: not allowed). Recovery is not working - is there anything else I can try?

thats very strange PB99IMG did not work. if "PB99IMG.zip" is on ur sdcard (not in any folder) bootloader should load it. did u rename it to PB99IMG.zip?

Yes, for some reason doesnt pick it up. I'm really unsure what to do. I cant flash using Fastboot, and after flashing the RUU I have lost the AlphaRev HBOOT and I cant get recovery. Can it really be bricked?

I am not familiar with this method of running a RUU by flashing it as a zip from fastboot. The standard method is to execute the RUU.exe from PC while the device is in Fastboot mode. Could this be the root problem ?
