[Q] Rebranding UK O2 Desire for Warranty Purposes - Desire General

My phone has just developed the annoying loudspeaker issue which is apparently associated with short circuit of pins 4 and 5 of the micro usb port. It looks like I will have to try and return it under warranty.
My phone is S-OFF (Alpharev) and rooted (unrEVOked3), and fully debranded.
I'm guessing I will need to return it to (UK) O2 stock to have any hope of a warranty repair. I need a little advice.
Can anyone tell me what bootloader I should have (currently HBOOT 0.93)? Which would be the correct O2 ROM for an LCD Desire (a link would be greatly appreciated)? Will S-OFF become S-ON when I reflash with stock or do I need to do something else to reverse it?
Failing all this... how easy is it to replace the port? I have found the part micro usb port I need and it's very cheap. I have to replace the earpiece speaker anyway (as it's buzzing) so I'm happy to dismantle the phone to do this. Is replacing the port a soldering task or is it just a push connector?

To find out hboot, boot into fastboot/bootloader. Hboot version is written there. In case you do not have one of the two new r2 hboots, so should not be any problem in flashing o2 ruu. You will get an unrooted phone with o2 branding and s-on.

Thanks. My current HBOOT is 0.93, what I need to know is what it should be (downgraded to) for it to be UK O2 stock. I think it was 0.89 but I'm really not sure.

i have not changed the hboot on my o2 desire and i have
HBOOT-0.93.0001

Much appreciated.

[Q]Problem flashing stock ROM using HBOOT

Stock Aplharev
PVT4 S-OFF
hboot - 6.93.1002
radio 5.11.05.27
I do the update from HBOOT because phone can't turn ON
it says can not roll back hboot
bootlader says bypassed, then all is ok until radio it says fail
Topic for jurvyx
radio brick, you can't fix it, but you can restore your warranty and ask HTC to gix it for you
turn the phone on, it automatically will go into RUU mode (which is the same as fastboot), and just plug it in. Don't worry whether you can't see the bootloader or any of that bollocks, just follow the instructions.
Use CMD, Android Flasher or fastboot commander to flash the "downgrader" from Alpharev.
Download the 2.3.3 RUU from htcdev.com (link available on my guide in #resources)
run the RUU
Call HTC and make up a fantasy about how you tried to update your phone and broke it.
****, i don't have warranty.
i will go to service tommorow. how much would it cost?

everyone has warranty lol... it's 2 years from what I hear.. unless you bought it 2nd hand, also I don't even know whether a radio brick is fixable, I think HTC just change the mainboard
Last two days I was googling and saw that in most cases, when phone is radio bricked, people can't turn on phone (even in bootloader).
I haven't lost S-Off (yet!) so maybe I can flash someone working radio from fastboot?
Can someone upload their hboot.img, radio.img, recovery.img..?
But it's need to be PVT-4 compatible!
I don't want to pay service to HTC before I shoot all chances.

[Q] Is there a new eng s-off hboot for new mainboard?

Recently I changed my DesireHD's mainboard at service center and they put a newer mainboard into mine.
Because the newer mainboard is not compatible with old hboot (such as hboot in Build 1.32 or 1.43 or etc), when I try to downgrade or eng s-off, my desire hd boot very slowly with long vibration.
I find way to install CWM recovery with ship s-off, so i don't have problem with installing custom ROM or customizing, but I want to eng s-off my phone because of using fastboot.
So I'm looking for a new hboot which is eng s-off and compatible with new mainboard.
Anyone know what I want is exist? or Anyone can make it as a favor?
God bless my poor english
im having the same problem... now im on the eng off that really takes me 6 minutes to boot up htc white screen and 3 minutes of vibration then i can use my phone...
how do you return back to stock hboot?
There are quite many way. PD98IMG.zip, RUU, Upgrade, etc.
But I recommend this method paste.pocoo.org/show/
Try it, then it will clear up your problem
P.S.
Cause I'm a beginner in xda, I can't attach direct link in the post until I post eight posts, so I remove http from the link.

[Q] Unrooting HTC Desire

Hi, apologies for creating another thread for something that is probably very simple, but the information I’ve found can be conflicting sometimes
I've a rooted HTC Desire with a (very old) LeeDroid ROM installed.
Phone is going, so I want to revert back to the office UK T-Mobile ROM.
Current configuration:
Bravo PVT1 S-ON
HBOOT - 0.80.0000
Radio - 5.09.05.30_2
Clockwork Recovery v 2.5.0.7
I've never messed about with S-OFF or anything?
Is it simply a case of getting the correct RUU (which I think I have, RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.21.110.4_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127570_signed) and running it?
I realise that this is probably a stupid question, but any assistance would be appreciated?
Thanks
Put the 2.2 one on, not the 2.1
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.10.05.17_2_release_143754_signed.exe
Or better yet put the unbranded 2.3.3 from htcdev.com.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you need to install a rom with sense, plug USB in HTC Sync mode and then run the RUU.
Then the official RUU should take care of everything (boot, radio).
But again, never done myself.
Thanks guys, installing the official RUU from the website worked perfectly
Thanks for the advice

German T-Mobile DHD (ENG S-OFF) - Revert to Stock for Warranty

Hello,
i hope i'm in the right section now.
I need to send my T-Mobile branded DHD to htc for a warranty repair and i need to revert to stock.
I have a couple of questions about that:
1) If i just run a RUU i will still be S-OFF, so what do i have to do before i run the RUU? Something special to do because ENG S-OFF?
2) What about SuperCID? I think i needed to change it during S-OFF Process (i don't remember, sorry)
3) What RUU can i use? I already reverted my HTC Flyer and there i needed the exact RUU which it was delivered with (i think because of the HBOOT version of GB / HC). As i don't know what the delivery Software version was (buyed it when it just came out) i don't know which RUU i need.
Thanks for help!
http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/htc_d...nd_auslieferungszustand_wiederherstellen.html There is all you need (assuming that you are German).
I used the above posted manual and had no warranty problems!
Good Luck
Thanks, then i'll try it.
What is RUU?
I have a unlocked Inspire 4G(att, bought it rooted of ebay) but does the tutorital from that website work for me too?

Back to factory settings?

I want to get back to factory settings.
I have alpharev, custom rom, clockwork recovery, and the sim unlock-utility (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943726)
Yesterday I used the WWE 2.3 android RUU, but I want the cellphone back to original state.
It was originally an:
bravo pvt4 ship s-on
hboot-0.93.0001
microp-051d
touch panel-symw0101
radio-5.11.05.27
But now I want back to completely stock, so any idea what to do? (s-on, unroot, etc.)
I did use the downgrader from alpharev, so now its s-on. But how do I get the original hboot and radio?
If you ran 2.3 ruu over downgrade you have it all stock, I don't know what yoj want more.

Ok. I thought it had to be the same radio and hboot etc, as when it was new, to not loose the warranty..?
OR else I thought only the updates on htc.com was seen as "official" and under warranty, all the others were unsupported, but it may only be in my head.
I don't find the RUU for my region, so if I used the WWE 2.3 update I have not void any warranty?
