[PATCH] Netflix Fix (Should work on most ROMs)

This patch will replace effectively the entire media library stack with a newer version, allowing Netflix to function on Gingerbread ROMs. The patch does not contain the Netflix apk itself, just the libs to fix playback. As far as I know, the patch WILL NOT work on Froyo.
Several folks on IRC confirmed the patch works. However, I recommend a Nandroid backup before applying the patch. Worst case, you can re-install your ROM to revert the changes. No wipes or anything are needed.

As I understand it FPS issues usually have something to do with the kernel/ramdisk.

Tried both minimal and complete. Best I can get is audio without Netflix crashing; but still no video.

It's a no go on G2 running CM7.0.2..The complete patch seems to get the complete audio but no video..The minimal patch didn't seem to do anything. Same problem, 3 seconds of audio then returns to main screen

same condition here, but with 7.0.3, using pershoot's 5/21 kernel.

Didn't work on Pyromod either

dam, just got pyromod on. oh well, i know blahblah said there will be an update of his rom out soon and it should have the fix

Yeah it won't work on AOSP ROMs but will fix HTC ROMs.

Has anyone tried this with the TMO GB leak?

Worked great on my DZ w/ G-Lite ROM for a while but now I'm getting login timeouts

G lite working great although it seems choppier then on the fusion rom...both OC to 1.5

Video Chat app to pc

So are there any video chat apps that let us use our unrooted DINC2 and talk on the other end to a pc?? I've looked and found tango and qik but neither offer a pc app

so the only apk I have come up with that is supposed to work with DINC2 is listed below, but it didnt work. It begins to install and I get an error saying install failed

Did the Google Talk update not come with your gingerbread update? The new Google Talk allows video chat.

Pretty sure the google talk update is for 2.3.4 and the update was to 2.3.3

To OP - why don't you want to root? Just wondering.. I've rooted and using cm7 right now and skype works pretty nicely on it. I installed google tall update but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

There is a way to install the video chat capable version of talk on 2.3.3, but you need root
Do a search in the android market place for talk 1.3 and it should be the second item found.
Its called:
[root] Talk 1.3 Installer by BRAINWASH STUDIO

To be honest I'm new to the android world and I am fine with what I have. I like the feel of Sense, and from what I hear there isnt any ROM that has Sense and works very well.
Plus once you root, isnt it pretty hard to go back to stock?

There are two roms that I know of that are exactly the same as the stock gingerbread with sense and one that is stock froyo, im running the gingerbread one, same as over the air update, minus some Verizon crap u can put back on if u wish, and I can do so much more with root, and I'm having zero issues or problems.

Trying to find any app available that will let me stream the games tomorrow. Don't mind paying for service either. Read somewhere that the official app doesn't work on ICS (running CM9 build). Need to get my game fix while at work. Thanks in advance. Post up!

Can I wipe and flash from CM9 on stock CM9 recovery with FC07 kernel.? OR should I go back to EL29 and CM7 and then flash?

I guess the guys who posted the app works didn't understand what I was asking. The app works fine but I've not had any luck with getting the games to stream in any game with any browser.
Saw that the OP for AOKP ROM now is updated to include the issue of video playback not working. My guess is going back to GB will fix the issue.

I can get the game to stream on Calk v 1.1. Only on wifi though. 3g wouldn't work.

Does this work if you have adblock enabled? Is there a way to disable the adblock check? I'd switch to this in a heartbeat from Netflix if they got rid of the ads, even for paying customers. lol

To be honest Idk. I disabled the phone check within the app itself. And it is ad free already so i would think it would work fine.

Slick app, but nothing is streaming. Most likely because of adblock, just keeps buffering. Shame.

I dont have ad blocker so I didnt test that aspect. I will decompile the app and see if I can try to Mod that. No Guarantees.

It seems like hulu might of patched that exploit, but it was still working with dish online.

I'll edit the latest version and see if I can get it to work.

I accidently upgraded mine from the market and figured I might as well see if I can get the newest version of flash.
I saw a couple threads saying hulu fixed the hex edit trick, but I was using hulu, and dishonline (blockbuster replacement) not that long before upgrading so I am hoping it still works

That is hulu plus and this edited flash version is recognized as a PC, not mobile so you can watch hulu on the stock browser. That was reason #1 I rooted my phone when I had my first child. Couldn't have the TV on.
