WP7 XDA app?

Will there be a WP7 XDA app?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I heard its in the works
I hope so
The Android version of the XDA App is pretty good and so the WP7 version will probably be even better.
XDA app.
I too would love a xda app to call my own. Make it so xda. If you could follow Metro UI that would be better.
Yeah the Android app is okay, hopefully they make one that works and is stable

The WP7 version of the Tapatalk app is being developed here and should be on the marketplace soon
To provide a branded XDA version for free to the community, the cost is €999
Wonder if XDA management are considering this?
Bumping this app from the grave..
*After searching for this thread before posting my own*
Is there really anything regarding an app for XDA?
I feel like i cant do anything without that xda app on my phone and thats probably the only +1 android has over WP7 right now..
A lot of people seem to be using Board Express from Wp7 if I'm not mistaken, don't know what's happening in regards to a dedicated XDA app though
Metro based xda App would rule al

I don't really mind using internet explorer... All I did was pin a shortcut of the page (zoomed into the logo ) on my home screen.
any news on a xda wp7 app?
Just buy Board Express, IMO.
I'll prolly get it in a couple weeks after all these extra charges from getting and returning phones fall off my damn bill.

can you bill your marketplace charges to t-mobile because I don't have that option?
CC only.
Yeah Board Express Pro will definetely do it! But it's a bit laggy though!

Think that's an understatement... Taking 3 seconds just for the "Loading Forum" label to appear after I click the forum is ridiculous... With that being said, it's made a lot of improvements lately, and I've become a fan of it after despising it... I only see it getting better too, the developers seem very dedicated to a quality product.

No need to spend for it. It also has a free version. That's the one I use. Works perfectly fine for my minimal usage needs.

That's true, but it's too limited. If the free version allowed you to use all features with ONE forum, that would make sense, but I guess that would cut into their $999 fees for customization, right? I think that fee is a bit excessive considering TapaTalk is letting them use their forum plug-in to get the app to work (then again, maybe they're paying TapaTalk?).
The XDA App for Android is full featured, just limited to XDA-Developers' forum.

yeah no thanx, it has something like a 60 character limit when posting messages? and you can't reply to PM at all (if i remmeber correctly). no thanx
Microsoft's servers are handling Notifications from everywhere else, so I don't see how that would be an issue. I think just the Messenger by Miyowa probably puts more hurt to their servers than this app would due to how many notifications every user gets.
If they need better servers for notifications, buy it with the cash you make from the app.
And hire a dev to fix these performance issues...

Hello Everyone

Anyone in favor of creating two different marketplace mini forums? one for CDMA and one for GSM? Any super cool, nice moderator wanna take the long painstaking time to split the forum into these two categories? It may serve to erase a lot of confusion for people who just arent grasping the difference.
maybe talk to the mods for that, making a thread would probably just be locked down
just my 2 cents
Seems like a great idea. But keep in mind that only the U.S. uses cdma so there's a downside. But ask this to be moved to the aboutxda developers section as most mods usually check that forum pretty often.

Will do. Thanks.
Not a bad idea, but if someone seriously doesn't know the difference that it sad.
IMO something more useful globally would be a forum based on 3G bands i.e.

Well mostly the issue with people is that they don't know is it a CDMA or gsm devices. That's why we need a separate sub forum for that. And a specific mod too
Wow someone beat me to it,I hate looking in here and seeing 1out of 20 or so threads are cdma.I'm looking for sprint phones and have to actually search so I don't go through so many threads just to see cdma phones.I'm really excited to see a split marketplace,so I hope this can be done.

Europe/US woulf be more useful than cdma/gsm. Person can pit that in the title.

i can see that to a sense but how many cdma phones are in Europe? even if it did go that way there are still more usa gsm phones listed then cdma phones,i would still have to go through a bunch of threads just to find a sprint or verizon phone.there are other cdma companys also, boost, cricket others like those and those 2 companys are finally getting decent phones.

Actually Canada, Mexico, and parts of Asia use CDMA as well. GSM is definitely more prominent outside the US though. I'm a GSM kind of guy. I recently switched to Sprint for the pricing (coming from AT&T). I have a million and one GSM phones lying around though lol. I miss being able to swap phones on the fly.
Yeah with sprint you can change phones online easily and you can use that service to check esn's

I use both Verizon and T-Mobile and love both of them!
Still trying to get more people for this.

Setcpu is free! Legal!

The app that lets you control your overclocking and changing the governors, is free only to xda members. So if your not, get out haha but it is legal read the OP in the link and the DL works just tried it.

I say don't cheap out a little cash and support the developer.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?

I agree with this. I went ahead and purchased it as well to support the dev and to get updates from the market.
The dev let the users/ members of XDA to be free and exclusive. This by no means cheaping out the dev. He wanted us to have it. Hes the one who let us have it for free. He put it on the android market for people who would be using different sites like Android central, droid tech, etc.

That thread is has been open for years. I bought it a long time ago from the market to get updates and support the dev.. but im not using it anymore because of lack of updates for our cpu.

Tapatalk or Forum Runner?

I am going to get one of these to make using the forums easier from my phone. Anyone have any suggestions on one versus the other? I know a lot of you use XDA Premium, but I'm just looking for a comparison of these two. Am I missing anything major by going with, say Forum Runner? (just picked the cheaper one)
Just go with tapatalk. I've loved it since I paid for it. Bought it for my iPhone when I had that too
dropped from LiquidNexus via TapaTalk
Love tapatalk, supports whole range of forums, very easy to use and light weight..to be honest haven't seen many use forum runner
Only thing I noticed is tapatalk can only upload pic files, but dev says will consider for future releases

I just switched from XDA premium to tapatalk. I have been pretty happy so far.
Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus.
I'm just using the XDA app (which is similar to tapatalk?). Seems to work well enough. Don't use it a whole bunch though.

Seems Forum Runner is also recommended. Don't use it my self. But a few mods are using it and they prefer it above xda premium and Tapatalk.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying the free version of Forum Runner before making a decision and I gotta say that it is pretty nice. Granted I'm just comparing it to the standard forum app, but it is very nice. So far it has all the forums I have interest in, so that is a wash. I'll give it a few days, make a choice then. Stinks that there isn't a free version of Tap...it'd be better than the 15 minute return window.

Hi I'm going to purchase a gnez

What I am wondering is, I would like to go to Verizon to get the 4g lte and enjoy my nez to the full potential, although I think that development isn't moving along a due to lack of support or lack of gsm. If I buy a gnez for Verizon will I bee missing out on movement?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Gnex.
And lack of development?
I've seen more CDMA (Verizon) only roms than visa-versa.
And there are only a couple.
You're not going to miss anything.
Great new guys go to wirefly to get your gnez
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Did you guys ever visit elect-band.com to buy a Gnez?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
its GNex not Gnez... but I prefer calling it GN.
I have the Google Nexus GSM and I'm very happy with it. Please remember that the Nexus family is a Developers family (although any user could work with it) applying custom ROMS is very easy and can be done in a lot of ways since the phone was made to be tempered with.
The community for custom ROMS and android development is very active for the phone you are about to admire and cherish.
some note for you:
Install an app that disables the 4g when the phone sits in your pocket... some people around here noticed the batery drains very fast when you leave 4g on in your pocket!
but to be honest. I life in the Netherlands and we haven't got 4G over here... even 3G loads websites, music and movies amazingly fast. as for browsing you could use Chrome which is released for android 4.0 users.
Hop on and enjoy the ride with nexus!
Would you trust the website I mentioned to buy a almost new gnez for almost 215 dollars or does if come off like a rip off?

Huh? Wirefly has it for $79.99 if you're starting a new contract. Any other place buying it used, that's up to you to decide.
And for Christ's sake its a Galaxy Nexus, not a Galaxy Nezus.
I'm trying to go month to month so I can end service and reactivate when necessary, any body got a good shot to shoot at this?

Well buy it used anywhere you want and make sure the ESN is clean. Then just go activate it with Verizon month to month.
Don't go to elec-band.com, they are rip-off artists

Hey look I was just looking over the ROM lists for the gsm and lte versions, and it seems the lte version had less roms, is that because of the Verizon network?

No, thats because the gsm version has been around for a few months now and the lte verdion was just recently released to the market

I'll have to disagree here. I believe the difference comes down to market penetration.
GSM = World phone (anyone worldwide)
LTE = Verizon customers only.
The more phones out there, the more developers will work with that phone.

Just checked and yes... sorry.
Then my guess would be that you guys in US have 4g networks together with switserland and just a handfull of other countries. So the only roms floating around would come from these places.
I could buy an lte device in the Netherlands using ebay or so but there would be no way to go beyond 3g around here for me. And going to switserland to check my mail lightning fast would mean that i had to drive there and pay €5,- (± $7,-) for every downloaded/uploaded MB...
