Swype keyboard not working - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

So I decided to download Swype to give it a try. I followed all the instructions on how to install it but I cannot get it to work. After the install, I verified that Swype was selected in Language & keyboard however when I try to type a TXT or EMAIl I do not get the Swype keyboard, I'm still getting the Sense keyboard.
Any suggestions?
BTW, I'm running the official 2.3.3 update from Verizon.

I had this problem at first as well a while ago. Open a text and bring up the keyboard at the bottom left there should be a button you press that brings up the option to choose which keyboard. If that didnt fix it i went to the keyboard settings to verify its swype then restarted and it worked. Good luck

I got it working. I needed to long press in text box and select input method then choose Swype.

Do you have a link to the swype download?

Register at their website and download it that way. Swype is pretty good about squashing any "illegitimate" downloads.

Hey i don't know much.... but try restarting your PDA.... the first thing you do after all programs are loaded... goto input settings and choose.... the input method you want... then goto the options available for it... and confirm those settings and click ok.... then again exit input settings clicking ok.....
then while entering text in any application... select your input method again if it does not appear as a default.... then probably you won't have to do the above stuff again and again untill and unless you re-boot your device.....
There is a small program called Sip Change....it may fix the problem....

[Q] Swype ver. 2.4 question

Recently installed Swype ver. 2.4.44.XXXX (had a previous version of swype prior, so installation is correct)
-keyboard shows up
-everything works, but the Swype style typing (leaves Swype trail, but words do not show up in text box)
-also letters and words show up if typed like a regular keyboard
Any suggestions or solutions?
That's a symptom of a non-authorized beta installation. Although, annoyingly, my official beta copy has a tendency to de-authorize every now and then, requiring a reinstall/Titanium backup restore.

[Q] Samsung keyboard has stopped

I bought Note 2 but i didn't liked the display it is little bit blurry and yellowish i decided to keep my Note 1 and give Note 2 to my girlfriend, so i did factory reset from the Setting menu, after the device restarted I'm getting error message " Unfortunately, Samsung keyboard has stopped" and I'm not able to log into Google account because the keyboard is not appearing. Any help is appreciated.
Just download another keyboard from the play store or better yet change the input method by either holding down by somewhere you can enter text waiting for a menu to appear then selecting input method or by going into the settings and changing the input method (can't give step by step am on gingerbread)

I cant access play store because i cant login to my account without keyboard and there is no other input method.
Then simply Google android keyboard and download and install the apk you'll have to enable installation from unknown sources though

Do a data/factory reset or reflash the stock rom with Odin.
Fixed
It was because i have changed the DPI to 240 with the Rom Toolbox and after the factory reset the DPI was still 240 thats why the Samsung keyboard has failed to start. I changed the DPI back to 320 did factory reset again, and everything works fine.

My language is set to English, but I cant get my keyboard to change from Japanese. Whenever I try to type it changes my letters into characters. Any Ideas?
Fixed:

Importing the personal user dictionary from HTC UDB file. (For custom ROMs)

Hi everyone!
This post is for everyone who has/has not installed a custom ROM and wants to restore his HTC device's personal user dictionary in AOSP/Google or any other keyboard.
Edit: This method also works if you want to copy your stock HTC Keyboard's dictionary to another keyboard like Google Keyboard or others.
Requirements
1.Backup of your user dictionary from HTC device. You must have the PersonalDictionary.htcudb file. To get this file go to Settings(on your HTC ROM), and then tap Language & keyboard >Tap HTC Sense Input.>Tap Personal dictionary >Back up to email.
When prompted, tap OK. You have the PersonalDictionary.htcudb file now.
2.Any office suite application.(MS Office 2010 Recommended)
3.User Dictionary Manager(UDM). Make sure you have it installed. You can find it on Google Play.
Procedure
1. Open the PersonalDictionary.htcudb file using the Word Processor. Use encoding UTF-8.
2. You will notice all your added words separated by "|" symbol. Select all data and do Ctrl+G
3. Go to Replace tab and type "|" (without qoutes ofcourse). Click on "More" button, and then click on "Special" button. Select Manual Line Break option from the drop down menu.
4.Click on REPLACE ALL button. Wait until all words are arranged in one word per line format.
5.Save the filename as wordlist.txt. Move it to your sdcard.
6.Open the UDM application(ON your Custom ROM). Click on Import. Select "external- TXT file" option. CLick next. Wait until all words are imported to your dictionary.
Note:
If you like UDM app, please rate it. Give respect to the devs.
If you found my post helpful, please don't forget to click the THANKS button.
This method is tested on HTC One X(endeavoru) but it should work on other HTC devices too.
