I have an nTelos Desire still on stock 2.1 and rooted using unrevoked so it has S-OFF.
I'd like to know which Sense-based ROMs (don't like AOSP, sorry) would be available for me. I already have a zip file for the nTelos APNs (if needed, really) but can't seem to find a definitive answer if any of the cool Kingdom/Pyramid-based ROMs would work with my version of the phone, including any radio updates as it's still on radio 2.05.10.00.11. I haven't been able to really find any info on anything nTelos specific and that's understandable since it's a pretty small regional carrier (I think it's owned by USCC or Cell South, not sure). Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Bump in the night.
I have a desire on a CDMA network, and the best CDMA ROMs I've found are CM7, oxygen, and MIUI.

Thanks but I'm not a fan of MIUI or AOSP-based ROMs. Looking for a good Sense-based ROM that's either Froyo or Gingerbread.
Afternoon bump!

Hi guys,
My girlfriend has a Desire on US Cellular. It's running 2.1 build 1.23.573.2 and bootloader 0.98.0000. I need to get this thing running HTC Sense 2.2 with root.
I have rooted my Droid2 with ADB and am running a custom ROM so I know the basics. I have read all about flashing ROMs and debranding and what not but I am just unsure about a few things like which ROM do I need, do I need to change radios, should I root before/after, are there pre-rooted HTC Froyo ROMs, etc.
I think at this point I want to just get an official HTC 2.2 on it and then root afterwards
Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
Edit: I have looked around briefly and would have searched but it's currently down.
Edit #2: Mods, sorry I forgot to put [Q] in the title.
1) You need to root your phone first. Use unrEVOked. Search for it.
2) Find the ROM you WANT in Development - from there it's explained whether or not you need another radio etc.

Thank you. I've got it rooted so now it is a matter of figuring out what ROM to use.
I am finding that 95% of discussion in the Development forum is with regards to GSM devices -- ROMs for GSM devices will not work on a CDMA device, correct?

Correct. Installing a GSM ROM will brick the phone. There really isn't much out yet when it comes to CDMA ROMs for the Desire.
I think this is about it and it's very buggy at the moment.

Can anybody help me out to go back to stock rom for US cellular based Htc Desire (CDMA) ?
I am looking for this as well, since I'm considering rooting to a custom ROM...
All here
The list of roms available are all compiled here. Take a look.

Thank you for the link, appreciated. Doesn't appear to have a stock USCC ROM on the list...oh well.
This may have been asked before, but I didn't find the answer when I searched. I'm using a stock 2.3.4 Inc2 in GSM mode overseas (sim-unlocked, but no other changes). Are the ROM updates generally available to users of phones that are no longer activated on the Verizon network? Has HTC made Inc2 updates available in the past on their website (I see instructions there now, but no downloadable files)? I want to make sure that GSM telephony and data work well, so I am hesitant to flash new ROMs, but I do want to try out ICS when it is available with all the bells and whistles.

i dont believe that officially htc/verizon releases RUU's or any way to upgrade w/o using the verizon ota system
but stock roms like gingerbangsense "s" and bonestock for rooted users do the same thing essentially...but you need to be either s-off or htc dev unlock
So far everything I've read here pertains to the GSM version. Am I still fine going ahead with what is posted? I read a thread on not using the hboots for GSM (idk what hboots are haha). Can someone dumb this down for me a bit? Switching over from the Mesmerize (horrible data drops on anything 2.3+ due to bad hardware, and samsung ditching the issue and not issuing a recall), everything was a much simpler process. Thanks in advance guys!!

Install a CDMA ICS/ JB from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946517
Anything to prep it for it? It's on stock 2.2. Also that rom looks a bit iffy, I think I've seen one that records 720p fine and plays it back as well.
I got the ROM you posted to work... but is it the only one? I'd prefer one that is more stable and for the CDMA Desire.
There aren't too many roms for the CDMA version of the desire.

Check out this thread. It has every rom in the desire section.

I've seen this. Looks miserable :/
Any kitchens available for bravoc? I have the feeling the roms for bravo and bravoc are identical, except for radio and hboot.

They aren't identical. The two phones have slight hardware differences.
So I've found no functional roms for bravoc that are functional out of the box... croniccorey's works after the fixes... any idea if it is possible to port an ics/jb rom with a cm7 base?
So as I stalked around here for a bit, I never realized that GSM roms and a CDMA phone don't match... either way, I've gone through and purchased an old HTC Desire that I assumed would be able to run ParanoidAndroid and MIUI Jelly Bean without issue... but no. So, any easy way to port Roms? I'm assuming it must just be a different radio or hboot config..
Hello again
When you flash a rom, you don't change radio and hboot. They survive flashing everytime.
There are hardware differences between the two phones.
You could port parandroid by taking cronny's JB as a base, and using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008
Thanks very much, will see what can be done. Also, the issues with these phones on ICS and JB, mainly the tearing and lack of proper acceleration in Camera and 720p playback... are they kernel dependent or driver? Are they stored in the boot.img or elsewhere?

Looks like I'm in business.
