iv made my goldcard but still no suscsess

You can do it for free using AlphaRev X. Refer these 2 threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15226717&postcount=68

Yep, I can personally recommend AlphaRev. Both the Windows version and Linux version worked fine on my Wildfire. Painless S-OFF, thereafter just read one of the guides on how to flash a recovery if you don't already know that (I suggest you use the fastboot method).

There's an entire list here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
Since you are going to debrand anyway, I dont think it matters whether you use a "Global" ROM or a UK ROM, because, all support English anyway.

Hi thanks for helping. do you no if i can simunlock for free?

also when i try to install a rom .zip i get this
installing update....
amend scripting (update-scrite)is no longer supported
amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5
it was necessary to remove it when upgradeing to clockworkmod 3.0
gingerbread based recovery
please switch to edify scripting ect ect ect any ideas?

There are several options:
- Convert the update-script to an updater-script
- Swtich to AmonRa recovery (AFAIK it still has amend support)
- Switch to an older version of ClockWorkMod (v2.xxxxx)
- Use RomManager to flash your file
Amend scripting is slowly being "phased out" since Google doesn't really support it anymore.

Nope. There is no free method for sim unlocking wildfire yet. Paid ways are using xtc clip and purchasing an unlock code from some unlocking websites.

This is because all 2.3 roms use edify/updater scripting. And all the other things generally use amend scripting. And 2.x recovery can flash amend scripting files only whereas 3.x or above can flash edify scripting files only. So you need to shift between recoveries according to your need.
Best way is to flash a 3.x or higher recovery primarily. Then root your phone and install rom manager. Use rom manager to flash recovery which generally flashes 2.5.0.7 recovery. It saves the file in the path sdcard/clockworkmod/download/subfolders/ . Explore these subfolders to find your file first. Then boot into your normal recovery and first select install zip from sdcard. Choose the 2.5.0.7 recovery path. Install it and you will have 2.x recovery at that moment. Now you can install amend scripting files. And even if you select the option "reboot to recovery" from rom manger itself, then you will directly enter 2.x recovery.
And if your phone is not in a stage to boot and you want to install froyo roms then you need to flash primary 2.x recovery by fastboot flashing or pc49img method (or unrevoked only for those who haven't used alpharevx and are still on hboot 0.80).

[Q] Howto flash a custom recovery image sith ROM Manager

Hello,
I want to install RA-desire-v2.0.0.img on my htc desire.
I already tried doing it with unrevoked, but it didn't work somehow. Unrevoked was telling me it was usinig a customer recovery image, but after rebooting it was still clockwork mod ( I previously flashed). Unrevoked also didn't get root, so maybe that's the problem? I am using AuraxtSense 8.1.4.
The ROM Manager has an option to flash a custom recovery image, but it's grayed out. I guess I need to put the recovery image in a special folder or something? Or is it a premium feature (don't see anything about that).
Thanks for the help!
2 things:
1. You can not at all flash a recovery on the desire with rom manager. It only supports fakeflash, because the desire is nand locked. In order for this to work, you will have to do the s-off hack, and rom manager should be updated to support this on the desire. The reason unrevoked can do it, is that it uses a hack or fault in the security.
2. the other recoveries is not a premium feature in rom manager, but as it only supports fakeflash, koush would have to find and add a fakeflash version of ra-recovery, which he have not. the fake flash versions of ra-recovery is also quite old, as not many people use it anymore.
Conclusion: You have to either use unrevoked again and hope that it will work or as i will suggest just run the s-off hack, which is very easy and only takes 3 minutes. Then you can connect the phone when in fastboot and just run a simple command, and the recovery will flash instantly. This is a permanent solution, so you do not have to use unrevoked every time.

Thanks.
In the meantime I have run the latest 2.29.405 WWE RUU and used Unrevoked afterwards. This worked.
Unrevoked didn't work on custom roms

[Q] root desire pvt4 40000

I've found howto about rooting Desire on wiki cyanogenmod (Desire GSM)
Problem is that mine is PVT4 and 40000. How can I do this? Is this guide (latest version of unrevoked) working OK, or are there any problems described here in this forum.
I'm interested in this part of guide:
" NOTE: the ClockworkMod version 2.5.0.7 installed by Unrevoked3 is widely reported not to work with new "PVT4" batches of the Desire. To find out version of the device:
1. Shutdown the HTC Desire (GSM).
2. Power it on by pressing at the same time the back button and the power button.
3. A screen will appear and the first line will reveal the phone version.
4. Choose "reboot" option to reboot the phone to its normal mode.
Some newer versions of the ClockworkMod Recovery. Amon_Ra's Recovery is also known to work.
"
If this guide will NOT work with PVT4 please provide link to guide that will or has worked with your phone, I would like to install newest cyanogenmod on my Desire, but don't have time to play with errors, if there are any.
Thank you

Download AmonRA Recovery 2.0.1 (the .img file) and when rooting select it in Unrevoked (select custom recovery)
http://www.android-hilfe.de/735093-post1.html
I'm trying to install Cyanogenmod 7 on Desire and according to that howto (I can;t post links because I don't have minimum 8 posts, but you can find it on cyanogenmod wiki) I need to get through 4 points to install it:
1. Rooting phone - and this is where that howto tells me to use unrevoked, so according to your last post I should use amon-ra
2. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery - will this also be installed by amon-ra?
3. Flashing Radio - this is the thing that I need to do manually probably (which version are you using, I'm wondering which version should I choose?)
4. Flashing CyanogenMod (I've downloaded already that latest version and just waiting for the root part to be finished)
Do I need S-OFF to update phone to latest cyanogenmod?
1. Desire Android developement - under Everything desire
2. You don't install ClockworkMod, You have to install AmonRa 2.0.1 or latest ClockworkMod is reported to be fine (3.0.0.5 or higher). I'd still recommend AmonRa 2.0.1 (link provided previous thread)
3. Using latest version (see signature). Install it from Recovery (before ROM).
You need to be S-OFF in case you want to flash the CM7 Partition Table (get more space).

no.
1. Root your phone with unrevoked and BEFORE you hit the button you go to file->select custom recovery image (or similar, I dont remember exactly) and choose the amon-ra.img. So it flashes Amon-RA-Recovery instead of clockworkmod. Also untick disable security on phone (again, I dont remember exactly but when you see it, you'll know what I mean).
2. --
3. Depends, what radio is installed at the moment. When you are already using Froyo, you dont need to flash radio because it is already version 5.xx . You can flash a new radio any time, you dont need to do that prior flashing roms, they are sort of independent.
4. Flash Rom via recovery.
For the above you dont need to be S-off. You'd need it, if you want to flash another hboot. But before you do that, do some proper reading in the forum and look at the (video-)tutorials in development section and dont try it before you are completely sure what you are doing.
Yes I know that I wan't to read as much as possible before rooting, but I've got question about that installation of Cyanogenmod, is there any tutorial that you have used for installation of it? I'm thinking about extending partitions and other things?
You flash it like any other rom and you can use any tutorial for that. Basically you do what I wrote in the post above.
CM doesnt support A2sd out of the box, so if you want to use it, you have to use either simple2ext or flash the legacy a2sd-skript (LINK).
What do you meant "extending partitions"?
As I said, there are plenty of tuts for that. Please use search and have a look at the stickies in development-section and the first post of CM7-Thread in development-thread.

plenty of questions

1) hi guys, i have a back up of my stock rom but it want to restore back to my old ROM. i have clockworkMod recovery v5.0.2.0 and do the restore over there but it says no file found even though I have a copy of my backup folder on my SD card. pls help as im planning to go back to my stock rom//phone is in S-OFF, (RESOLVED)
2)if ill buy a new memory card, and automatically insert it in my phone, will my phone work? or do i need to flash again a certain room? what if I have a stock rom? what will happen if I reboot my phone?
3)do we have a step by step process here on how to go back to custom rom? if yes can you pls provide me the link? im doing this search thing and found a thread on where we can download the stock rom, but when I flash it, it will just say, "ammend scripting is no longer supported"(RESOLVED)
4) IS there a way to have "internet pass through" using stock htc desire ROM(gingerbread 2.3.3)?
1. I suggest that you are S-Off so the backup of your stock ROM don't work because it is not compatible with the s-off hboot. How to go back to your stock rom and s-on you can find in the troubleshooting guide by bortak (and many more questions): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275632
2. It depends on the ROM, most desire ROMs stores a part of their system files on the sd (because of that you have to partionate your sd card). If you now put in a new sd card all these files will be missed by the system.
3. For a step by step tutorial look at the guide mentioned above. The clockworkmod recovery 3.x and higher doesn't provied the amend scripting anymore. There is an amend to edify (the new scriptin method) converter out there but i would recommend you to flash the AmonRA recovery which provieds the amend scripting (how to flash a recovery you can find in the guide)
For further postings, please check the troubleshooting guide first befor you ask questions.
thanks bro. Ill do that then and ill hit you up after this
you're welcome
I actually resolved it buy using th unrevoked method for unrooting. I never thought that unrevoked method for unrooting will bring back your room to stock rom. However, I still cant find a solution to have an internet pass through on my htc desire using stock GB 2.3.3 ROM//
What problems with the internet passthrough are you having?

what I mean is I dont have this "Internet Pass Through" Selection on my unrooted htc desire. it's only htc sync, usb tethering, disk drive and charge only otions. What im trying to know is, can I add "internet pass through" on my phone?
I believe you need to flash a ROM with at least Sense 2.1 to get that feature as the official GB update has the old Sense version without the passthrough feature.
Alternatively you can try and run this which is still in beta and has limitations.

yeah i thought so because I have an "internet pass through" when I flash runnymede rom before. So it's impossible then to have this option using stock ROM right?
Yes. The gingerbread update was intended for stock hboot and i guess the latest version of sense was too big to fit Desire's internal memory.

[Q] Can't flash the newest radio

Hello,
sry for this noob question but I have searched this problem on the forum and it seems like that nobody else is having ´the same problem.
Since I've rooted I have been wanting to flash a custom rom on my phone. For my particular ROM the developer suggests to flash the latest Radio. I've tried to install it through the recovery ("install zip from sdcard") but my recovery just won't install it.
rooted using revolutionary. Of course s-offed. My Phone is the PVT4 SLCD with erase size of 20000
My Recovery is ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.0 (That from rom manager)
Thanks

You wrote everything except the most important part - bootloader information.
But I reckon what you'll write so probably the /cache is to small to flash radio using a .zip leaving you only with fastboot flash method.
Hi, I don't know which hboot you are using. But I think you have got one with small cache partition (5M size). If it's true, you should flash radio by fastboot.
Actually I have the stock hboot. I think the recovery is the problem. So CWM says the installation aborted. Amend scripting is no longer supported. I should switch to edify scripting. How can I do that?
for what its worth, my advice if you have a recent radio (one where second string of numbers starts with _5) then leave it and try it with the rom. If you do need to change it I'd recommend learning to use fastboot to flash as it takes other software layers out the equation.
Also, get rid of Rom Manager - you don't need it and it causes problems with Desire - and since you're s-off install 4Ext Recovery.

I had the same problem with stock hboot. I only have a Mac and Ubuntu machines, and I haven't found an easy step by step tutorial to use fastboot (only for Windows) so I'd rather do it with just the phone itself. So is it still possible to flash radio without using a computer?
On the other hand I used to have the latest radio before unrooting my phone for warranty reasons, and I can't see any difference in performance...
Here is a German Tutorial (sorry for that):
http://www.brutzelstube.de/2012/edify-scriptfehler-flashen-eines-radio-images-mittels-adb/
I had the same issue, did it with this tutorial and it worked good for me!
Short translation:
#1: Boot in the Fastboot menu (start with power+ volume down then fastboot)
#2: Install ADB http://www.brutzelstube.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/adb-tools.zip
#2: Extract the "radio.img" from the Radio .zip file and copy it to the ADB folder
#3: Connect your mobilphone with the Computer, wait a few seconds then navigate with cmd to the ADB folder and put the following line in: "fastboot flash radio radio.img"
#4: restart your phone
It worked for me!!!
Easier way would be Android Flasher:

Can you or any one else provide me the link to download Clockworkmod 2.5.X.X. I cant find it anywhere.
I have 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 baseband version and Stock hboot.
Do i need to upgrade it to install sense 3.5 roms? Are there any risk in flashing radio? As every sense 3.5 rom freezes occasionally on my desire.
Thanks
any 3.5 sense rom is too heavy for desire, you can speed it up if you use cm7r2 hboot... flashing radio is risky operation if radio flash will fail it is not recoverable in most cases, htc will replace motherboard if you can provide proper reason under warranty... you don't need to update radio to flash rom but battery life can be affected by radio...
to flash radio without ruu you must be s-off

The clue is in the error message, amend scripting is not supported above cwm 3. The zip file contains an old script to tell it what to do.

With what I can see, it seems you are S-OFF... If true, then great. Download an RUU (.exe not .zip) and flash via FastBoot. To get Root back use SimpleOneClick (Easy as just one click)... To have your Recovery v4.0... Download and Flash via FastBoot... Easy!
Enjoy!

Does "SimpleOneClick" work for HTC Wildfire that has S-Off ?I doubt that.
If not,Unlock Root is another option.

Yes it does... That is what I use... But it doesn't work on Eclair anyways (Or maybe because I'm S-OFFed... Hmmm)... Anyways, it works on me Wildy. Cheers.
