batteries.... - HTC Wildfire S

Just wondering....are the batteries for the original Wildfire compatible with our Wildfire S?
Only asking because I have seen a 2450mah battery which says Wildfire on Ebay for just £10, but obviously want to check with you guys first as to whether they are compatible....

The wildfire battery would only give a little boost. Like 15-20 mins, I think.

its not compatible

Are you going to buy Wildfire S?

Are you going to buy Wildfire S?
If not tell reason.
I'm going to buy because it is very small and easy to handle.
It contain gingerbread os.
Nice look.
Etc.....
Im considering it........
Im due for my upgrade in 2 months and I think Im going to get the Desire HD/Omnia 7, sell it and buy a little android device to play around with and have some cash leftover.....
Wildfire s has 256k color is it true?
Bcoz wildfire has 16M color.
So the Quality of image in Wildfire s is lower than Wildfire?

Apparently it is true
Seems a bit backwards...............
Release date anybody know?
I'm really waiting for it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
its released on march 21st in the uk I think....
not sure about elsewhere..
Thanks for info.
I got this info

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
that seems to be the date that its available sim free...
I think its available on contract a bit earlier.
I read on Cnet that Wildfire s will be running 2.4 version of gingerbread (what they mean is 2.3.3 probably with the bug fixes) and a new sense with app filtering and new notification pull down menu multi tasking.
Yeah I would definitely upgrade for a better screen alone cos face it wildfire home screen fonts looks fuzzy and good games and apps are out of reach. But I thank it for bringing me into the Android world.
Rest in peace.

Isnt this just like the HTC legend now... Spec wise?
I'm sure many budget people will. I think I'm going for the DHD now as it is cheaper.
I cant wait for wildfire s.
So I bought Htc desire.

I already have a wildfire and I do not buy the wildfires.
I'm tired of the small screen resolutions ...
Im getting the Wildfire S for my gf as birthday gift

Have read that wildfire s has front facing camera, big improvement there but doubt the quality. The camera and media player has always been downside of wildfire.

Even I am willing to get Wildfire S, provided its priced decently.
Else will go for LG Optimus One P500.
Pretty much confused between the two
I have one of these. To be honest it is one HELL of a difference to the normal wildfire. Live wallpapers work smooth, angry birds works smooth and just the look and feel of the device is way better. Comes with gingerbread.
Flaw is the battery life is utter poop. With my 3G on, music on, exchange email the battery lasts about 6 hours if that.
No HTC flashlight or the office applications either. No Tweeter (game). Seems that they got rid of alot of apps. HTC sense works so much better.
^For how much did you get Wildfire S for?

[Q] How much is my WF worth?

I consider selling my HTC Wildfire . My problem:
How much is it still worth? For how much should I sell it?
I've rooted my phone and have flashed cm7...
Gesendet von meinem HTC Wildfire mit Tapatalk 2
Depends where you are staying, but honestly, its not worth much. You get a new HTC Explorer here for 50% of the price I got my Wildfire for, and a Wildfire S for 75% of the price. Besides, with the many budget phones launched by other companies like Samsung / Sony etc (Which are actually pretty decently specced for their price), it further erodes the price of the Wildfire.
You can look at your regional eBay / classifieds for ideas. Try selling locally to someone who you know needs one. That way, you may get better value.
Ok thanks i gonna try to sell it local for about 85€

In India its about Rs 7000/- so i guess should be about 50% to the actual value...but if the buyer is interested in Rooted ROM then u r lucky..

Next step up

What would be your next phone and why?
Mine would be the Desire C or xperia tipo as I love their small sizes and they're cheap enough for me to amount to.

Nexus one....for more and more latest android support...
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda app-developers app
Nexus 7 .
my next phone would be in 2013 with processor>=1ghz, screen size>=3.7 inch, good xda dev support with budget little over wfs..I dont like sony/lg or other company handsets...My next smartphone would b either Samsung or HTC...ill search for such phone nxt year
People don't buy single core phones. They are slow and outdated. Btw my next phone Samsung flagship or latest nexus
I'll probably buy a tablet........preferably the Microsoft Surface
Any android phone that is quadcore.
Maybe a phablet like galaxy note or 10.1 or 2
Xperia tipo or neo l whatever is good by next year.....
Accidentally this post from my awesome Wildfire S
I would love to have a better phone but I would have to wait until 2014 or win a competition.

Interesting thread. I suggest adding a poll with brand names (HTC, Sony, Samsung, ...). Also make the thread title a bit better.
For now I'm not going to leave the wildfire s. I want to keep the device as long as possible. Why something else if it still works?
A good device for me has an 3.7 inch screen maximum and good specs and battery life. I'm looking what Sony will bring in future. Their Xperia sola was a good example but it has bad battery life and no development.
So let's see what the future brings. Let's hope manufacturers don't act stupid and release some very good 3.7 inch phones with a large battery. I miss the old days with only one charge a week ...

Agree 100%. Window phones are great. but don't have as many customizations or applications. Coming from an android you might get bored.

exactly. if u like modifications then choose dhd. if u want to try something new then buy hd7. imo better will be dhd because you can modify this phone in almost every way which fit to you and also you have much more available apps than windows has

Well, the Nexus S still has a pretty good dev community.
Even though Google dropped it from the official 4.2 update list, there's already custom ROMs for it.
Overall, I'd recommend this over the DHD or HD7
im on the sensation XE and i am pretty happy. full s-off, decent rom development. free sim unlock and fully running jellybean.
I think u shouldn't buy something from HTC (One V same hardware as DHD and its actually 3 years old) and because of the miserable build quality of htc phones im really pissed off from my Htc one X
Why the Nexus S not the GNex? in germany the galaxy Nexus cost just 20 bucks more i think u should buy this phone it's really great!
I personally switch to the Nexus 4
Same I would go for the Nexus 4. In the UK the Nexus 4 is £279 for the 16 gb. For the specs that is a big deal!
Thank you guys all of yo,as a matter of fact i got the best offer for nokia lumia 710 which is WP phone so i will be selling my wildfire for sure and buying lumia
Thanks again
Cheers
One thing you should keep on mind that wp7 devices will not be updated to wp8 whereas android phones van be updated to latest version even if the manufacturer stops updating so if you want to buy windows phone then buy only wp8 else you will be stuck forever.

Coming back to this, Sensation is a great phone. I love Htc sebse but might choose Galaxy S2 over it.
But i'll have to wait for a minimum of 6 months.
My phone changing has been very different to others
Some old sony erikson phone than nokia e63 than Iphone 3GS than nokia e 63 than wildfire.

mine will probably be htc evo 3d or sgs2. i don't want to switch into samsung because.i am htc fanboy but sgs2 is faster unfortunately ); maybe because of sense on htc );

Its really nice to hear that people are getting new phones but believe me without wildfire, you wouldn't know much about internal memory, gpu's importance, partition sdcard etc.
And getting a better phone than this would feel like heaven. Atleast with this, u guyz tried FROYO and GB which you wouldnt have tried with a better phone
Still i'm happy with this.

yup. i expect it can be as fast as sgs2 with modded rom. i would like to play ganes such like modern combat 3 or 4. ipod 4g handled with 3rd part but it was little bit laggy. probably because of 256 ram & 800 mhz

Sgs2 has handled every game I've thrown at it nicely (even when underclocked) the only problem with it is the sound chip and hwcomposer which made it tricky to port jb in the beginning so when klp is released we might be a bit slow at getting it. Overall though it's still a beast, still has great development and a huge choice of custom roms and can still fight it out with the best of them....

i love S galaxy s2 my mom has it, but its too expensive for me second hand 200 euro i have maximum 130-135
And the Sensation fits every need
-cheap(120-135eu)
-good development
-1.2 ghz
-dual core
-better and bigger screen than sgs2
960x540px vs 800x480
4,3'' vs 4,27''
but the s2 is faster
I will probably get my new device in november or december this year, gonna spend max 650€ on it Hope that there will be a Nexus 5 ♥

correction my good sir, its 1.5 ghz :good: htc underclocked the first sensations so they could push out the xe and 4g (4g does have a 4g lite hardware additions but the xe is just a sensation with different colours and a un-underclocked cpu)

The battle here is htc vs samsung

i don't trust sony. maybe because of my ps3. when it was on warranty time i sent it to authorised service of sony in poland and they told me that they can't replace part hardware part which is broken and they asked me to send it to general sony service in france for only 200 euro haha.

Another good thing about Samsung is they are a lot more open to the idea of what happens here at xda, they are simple to unlock, customize and return to stock. And they also take input from some of the top devs here. None of the others do....
