Found a few MM themes for swype beta 3.0 but get major FC issues after applying. Can swype be themed on this fone?

Anyone?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
Yes theming swype beta is a drag but i managed to get it working on my droid x.
It requires a clean copy of the beta first and i only replaced the png images and nothing else using root explorer
1. move /data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod/lib/libSwypeCore.3.6.84.26668.so to /system/lib
2. copy /data/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk to /system/app and rename to Swype.apk
You can now modify Swype.apk without the FC problems don't forget to fix the permissions and to reboot
Thnx. Saw no mention of that first step anywhere. letcha know how it wrks
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
Wrked great. Thanks much, really appreciate it. two things held me up. Swype.apk can't be capitalized. And that lib file I never would have thought of that
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
Lol no problem...
What theme did you use
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

So ive looked up and downloaded a few themes and got them to pop up, but it says that swype needs to be dated. Anyone know how to updated it so swype actually works or has updated themes?

I have no idea if this will work or not but this is a download link for a .zip file with 4 swype themes. unzip, select the one u want & install like a normal app. may not be what u want but it works for me. Good luck.

This mod will enable you to have a custom status bar banner in place of "Verizon Wireless" on MIUI 1.8.5. It should work on most AOSP roms, as I'm not the first to do it.
Install:
Nandroid backup first.
1)Download attached .zip file and extract the eri.xml file
2) Using your favorite xml editor (I use sublime text) find the text "MIUI 1.8.5" and change it to your text of choice, or simply leave it if that text is ok.
3) copy it to /data file on phone
4) reboot and profit
Confirmed working on VZW Droid Incredible 2 running MIUI 1.8.5
If you flash a different ROM later on (especially Sense or other non-AOSP) you'll want to delete this file beforehand to prevent any bootloops, as framework is affected.
Isn't there an apk in the miui thread that'll change it?

Yea, it's called ccn or change carrier name.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
Yep, there is. Some people said it didn't work for them, so there is this method too. Also, this should work on most aosp roms, whereas I'm not sure if ccn will.

is this tool working on any phone running MIUI?
Would like to install the stock vanilla News and Weather widget I had on my Nexus-S. Is there one available for the Epic Touch ? Even better if there's a transparent version ?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Here's what I believe is the stock GenieWidget.apk which I pulled from gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48008047/GenieWidget.apk
To install, just copy GenieWidget.apk to /system/app

This is a themed version that I like.

I'm not sure if astro has r/w....I use root explorer for everything and has never let me down.

What do you mean by fix permissions?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Installed root explorer still can't get this file to over write the existing digital clock.

Once you push the DigitalClock.apk into system/app you'll notice that every apk in there have little letters that look like "rw-r-r", the clock ones will be different. With root explorer make sure you're on r/w, long press, go to permissions and make look like this:

Thanks thar helped. Didn't click on upper right corner Like you said. After that it over wrote just fine. Has to do a reboot and clear cache to get it to show up as a widget option. Now it works perfect. Nice ICS blue vs the outdated gingerbread green.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Only other cool thing would be a transparent weather widget that comes stock with this phone.

Glad it worked. Shouldn't need to wipe cache or anything for it to work. ..but it works now that's what counts.
Credit to jez2cool on Syndicated ROM for theming it.

I agree, I used to have 3-4 different ones saved somewhere from the vibrant days...

Is there a way to disable to little clock in the upper right corner, right next to the battery icon ? With the big digital clock widget, there is no need for two clocks.

I believe it's modifying the services.jar but not sure...when I had the vibrant all I had to do is delete it and the clock would be gone. I tried it on this phone the other day and got stuck on the galaxy S screen... So apparently that doesn't work. lol
OK so I'm working on an entire theme for cm 10 . Last night I was playing around for MMS. You will see a red icon to launch the app and some other changes.
Still a working progress but I'm happy with this so far.
Download and push to system/app fix permissions reboot done.
Currently supporting cm10. Haven't tested other ROMs yet. Feedback welcome.

What is frameworkâres?
Sent from my SGH-T999 or GT-P3113 using xda premium
Its where the majority of your icons are at. For example the status bar icons. The battery icons. You could extract ut from your custome rom. System/framework/framework-res.apk. try it with winzip or something so you can see for yourself.

Hello new to hear and new to the flashing world. Dispite having hard time trying to find out where all the roms are so far I have found 4. Right now im useing Cleanrom and I do like it do like it so far. Something small but big to me is I want the black email theme not the white... is there anything I can do?? And is there a list of ALL roms to date for the ATT galaxy note 2.
Thanks

Don't know if you're using gmail or just email but this link shows how to change email to black
If Gmail, there are some nice Inverted 4.2.1 gmail apks out there... I've used Rujelus22 and DarkHorse Inverted gapps and themed apps... work perfect on Note2. Google search "Rujelus22 inverted gmail" or DarkHorse gmail 4.2.1.... then extract the gmail.apk, fix permissions, push to /system/app folder. Be sure to rename old apks in /data/app and or in /system/app folders prior to push (so you can revert bsck if you want to)

Using Root Explorer or something simlar navigate to:
System/Csc/features.xml
Open the file to edit. Scroll near the bottom to the EMAIL section and change the TRUE to FALSE
That should give you the overview. Backup the features xml to be safe.
