Anyone been able to look into it yet?
Someone had to ask.
From my understanding it would have to be by the xtc clip because there is currently nobroot exploit for the GB release. The exploit Gingerbreak used was patched.

I can't find a thread about how or if u can make a temporary root (when it was Revolutionary beta) a permanent root. All help will b appreciated much!

try flashing a custom kernel.
I did already. I use tiamat kermal. I just need to know if a permanent root for Droid Inc2 exist and if so where? I only remember rooting when u had to get a beta key.

Nvm! I dont even think there is a solid Perm Root for the Inc2 yet ooops
I'm perm rooted. I used revolutionary and I'm good.

So how do u know that you are perm'rooted?
Cuz I have superuser app, I've flashed many a ROM kernel, and hboot says S-OFF
We achieved perm root like a month or so ago.

I have flashed Rome Kernels and a few other things but how can I know if I indeed have a perm. Lol
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
A temp root will go away once you reboot. A perm root is just that, permanent.

I feel genius lol I perm'rooted. Thanks

No problem dude. Just know if you can flash anything, you're perm rooted. As far as I know, the only thing you can do with temp root is screenshots

You can also freeze bloatware while temp-rooted.
But what happens when you reboot? Won't it unfreeze?

I don't believe so. I've never done just a temp root, seeing as I've been able to perm root. I'm only repeating something that I had read somewheres when trying to find material on rooting when I first got my phone lol.
So since the newest ota's contain bootloader .98 shouldn't running that completely unroot the device

Anyone wanna try? I just sold my Inc 2 for a rezound so I can't
So I had already unlocked the phone using HTCDev's boot unlocker. Everything seemed fine right up until it came time in this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751796 to run Revolutionary. The phone is bootlooping to the point that Revolutionary can't get the root, it fails and says hit almost any key to exit.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm about to throw this thing through the window.
is it GB 2.3.3 or 2.3.4?
try flashing a newer radio
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Do you happen to have a link to one?
crap the only place its even stable enough is at the bootloader and adb can't communicate with it. I don't know what to do. This blows.
search this forum for radios. there's a thread on dev section. and what android version were you on when you tried to root? might have to use taco root for 2.3.4 I think
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Well, if you unlocked through HTC you have to relock in order to s-off. Not sure if you knew that.

right now im rooted with the newest ota that came out but i cant downgrade to 2.3.3 i get an error when the file starts to parse... it will fail all the time...
I guess I'm stock on stock then
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
If your still s-off , can't you just reflash a superuser package? If your not, have you tried tacoroot method ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
I'm pretty sure there are threads already posted about achieving s-off on already rooted devices. Check around.

Everything I try to downgrade I always get error 99...
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
If you are HTC Dev unlocked then you need to use the instructions to get s-off for dev unlocked. If all else fails use a different computer.

I have been searching with no luck. Is there a way to root and s-off my One if it already has the 4.4 update.
No it looks like those of us who got the 4.4.2 ota without s-off are stuck for now. New hboot version locked out old exploits in rumrunner and firewater
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
Is it possible with the 4.3?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep, you should be able to find the firewater s-off site pretty easily - look for the temp root method if on Verizon 4.3
