Hello,
I use go launcher ex. I have a folder on main screen named 'games'. I have changed its icon and it looks pretty well. But when i put any games in it the small game icons appear over the folder icon and the folder icon looks ugly. When i again change the icon of the folder, it changes but the small game icons of each game remain over the folder icon. Is there any way to get rid of those small game icons over the folder icon??

Has anyone figured out how to change the default folder icons in the Arc launcher? I like they way the work, just not the way they look.
I use Folder Organizer instead. Then I use Desktop Visualizer to change the icons. Then you can have folders with icons you like in the dockbar as well.
Used Swiftwork's folder icons used in his themed Arc launcher
Replace Home.apk file in /system/app using Root Explorer and change permission accordingly.
Clear data on SE Home application settings required as widgets on top row of homescreen will disappear

I tried using the same but was not able to find set Desktop Visualizer
not working on neo
I downloaded Franwella's "simple white" icons from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256865 onto my Verizon Droid Incredible 2.
When I create an icon on my home page using Desktop Visualizer and select icon pack none of the icons are showing up, and they are not found in any of the other options.
EDIT: Ok, so I ended up figuring it out, BUT the icons all ended up in my photo gallery. I really don't want them to clutter the gallery up, so anyway to transfer them into the icon pack section?
I can relate. I hate having the icons in my gallery as well. One thing I don't like about the 3d gallery... you can't exclude or hide folders.
Is it possible to replace the button icons with different images? For example depending on the theme you have the Mms icon is different. How can I chose just the icon I want out of the them instead of the whole theme?

This thread has a bunch of icon packs you can download and it also tells you how to change the icons on your homescreen, dock and Appdrawer.
Hope this helps.
Which button(s) are you referring too? If it's on the home screen or dock it's fairly simple when using Go Launcher EX.
Simply long press the icon , wait for the pop-up menu, choose replace and you'll have the option to select Default icon, Theme's Icon or Custom icon.
If it's in the app drawer then it's a little harder as the icons are set within the theme package itself and as far as I know there is no way to change just one icon from here on the fly.
Thanks g4me0v3r.
Hi guys,
I've been playing around with creating my own icons for use in Nova Launcher. When I want to change an app icon into my own custom icon via Nova Launcher's edit function, the icon I've created comes with a black background. In Photoshop, the icon appears to have a transparent background...so why is Nova Launcher adding this black background?

Did you save it as a png file?

Yeah, I was saving it as a PNG file, but I found a workaround. I was previously accessing my icons through Root Explorer, but when I selected them through Gallery, the black background disappeared.
Nova launcher can use picture files as Shortcut icons but for some reason not .ico files... It's on its seventh version, so why not, has this never come up!?
Is it mandatory to have icon color background, is there a transparent background option?
