It just started happening last night and not right after the update so I'm not sure if that is it but it takes only 30 seconds to boot up my Xperia arc now I couldn't believe it at first so I had to turn it on and off again this morning and count it out I think I counted 32 seconds but maybe have been counting fast
I wonder is this happening to any one els ?
the only difference I know with what I've done to the phone is the update and I've been keeping the data transmissions off and the Sony Bravia engine off
I'm yet to root it I hope that it won't change any thing if I do .
Yeah, same here. Takes about 15-25 boot for me lol ;D
Mine take agesss
mine takes 20-25 seconds too
yes it's great but when it starts to lag you have to reboot and it will be about 2 min then if you reboot it will be 30 sec

i flashed mine to get the 2.3.3 global. I did notice it was much quicker since it removed my roger logo( freaking 5 sec extra -_-) after Sony Ericsson's boot.
But i think flashing it do help
Mine boots quite fast too.

Does anyone elses DInc 2 take forever to boot up after hitting restart. I swear mine takes like 5 minutes at least. Also the boot animation doesnt last for the whole boot up time. The droid eye moves back and forth twice then just sits there and doesnt move. Seems like a oversite on HTC. Thoughts?
it does take a little bit of time, but 5 minutes?? wow.. you could always go into settings and change to quick boot.
Here's what I'm wondering. If quick boot is available, why would any of us ever use regular boot? Is there some advantage to long boot?
Same problem here. Five minutes may be an exaggeration, but it takes at least two minutes or so. And it seems to make no difference whether I have Quick Boot checked or not. Could this have something to do with running Launcher Pro instead of Sense?
yeah i'm not sure either. but the description says that some market applications/services are disabled if you use quick boot.
When I select restart it does take about 2 minuets to fully boot, but when I just turn it on with its booted in under 20 seconds, quick boot enabled.

Mine sort of freezes on the Droid eye as well. Mainly with the eye and two black dots to the right of it. It doesn't sit there for long though, but definitely noticeable. I have quick boot on as well.

Hi all,
I recently bought a Xperia Arc, all new, as i started using it noticed it reboots itself often, for no reason apparently, its very annoying since it takes about 2 minutes to restart.
It doesn't matter if i'm taking photos, video, playing games, or even in a call, it can reboot anytime, the screen freezes for like 2 secs then shuts off and restarts.
I cant take it to SE cuz i bought it overseas, and since it's my first android i have no idea what's wrong with it.
It's a wonderful phone and don't wanna have to sell it because of that.
Any ideas on what could be happening? and how to fix it?
Thx in advance.

Install both (required for the drivers):
- PC Companion: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pccompanion/xperiaarc?cc=gb&lc=en
- Update Service: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup.../detailed/updateservice/xperiaarc?cc=gb&lc=en
Use any of them to update/repair the phone back to stock.
Or use the FlashTool and flash it again.
If it continues rebooting after reflashing it, then you need to take it back and get an exchange.

Thanks BluechipJ and daveybaby, im currently at work, so i'll try reflashing it tonight.
I found if the device gets hot (Upper portion of the back, not the battery. I guess that's where the CPU and RAM are), it reboots. It happens more often when I play games while charging. while standing by on battery, mine never reboots by itself. If your problem persists, maybe you need to consider replacing it.
My Xperia Neo used to crash randomly too, usually once a day or once every to days. For some strange reason, it seems to have stopped since I've started using AppKiller and Go Launcher. Right now I'm in the 125th hour of uptime and counting...
yea mine restarts quite often when people call me...im going to take into docomo today and let them know...
been testing it for several days now, the reboots stopped after the flashing
Thanks again
I have flashtool,do I just re run it? will i lose my root/apps/data?
Mine freezes sometimes and then the screem goes of from left to right and reboots
Did you have the same?
Sometimes it runs for 100+ hours and today it happend after 39-46 hours uptime.
It mostly happens when I use it a lot and the RAM was quite low before. Maybe mine runs out of RAM?

Um... could be? Im using a task process killer now so maybe. Try autokilling unnecesary processes.
Cheers
Mhm, everyone says they do more bad than good.
But I'll look at processes that eat up RAM when it runs for a while. Currently it's fast @ ~ 30 hours uptime.

Hello,
Ever since I rooted my phone I've been having this issue...the first image on boot, the clock work mod splash screen takes an awfully long time...like 20-25 seconds before it goes to the boot screen animation where it takes another 20 -25 seconds, is there any way to speed things upand get the phone to boot up as fast as a non rooted device? I'm using AIO Runny 4.01
Thanks
any one knows a way to solve this??
Maybe nobody (me also) gets why this is a problem for you?

well just my opinion buddy......I don't see the need to fix your issue...as I find it normal....I myself takes 30sec or so before I managed to get into CWM Recovery....
You just need to be patient......unless there is a "real" issue behind it.
Hey
Thanks for the replies. I guess I wasn't clear...
It stays on the first screen - the one with the Joker for 20 - 25 seconds before switching to boot animation where it takes another 20 seconds....thats like almost 45 secs of booting time.
I don't remember it taking that long before rooting? Is it normal??
Thanks
If it is under 1 minute you have got to suck it up my friend...as it is fairly typical. Mine seems to roughly to take up to 50 seconds.
However there are apps available such as rescan media root from the android market. Run the app and select the option to disable media scanner. It basically stops media scan to run on boot, therefore theoretically should save a lot of boot time and make the phone boot faster.
Thanks alot mate!

Half an hour or ten seconds is the same, still do that. It fixed mine but it was not because of flash issue, it just went off and never wanted to wake up again.

I had the same problem as you do and I fixed it with this guide. Also. be aware that theres a number of video tutorials on youtube, just type "zenfone 2 black screen" or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BboYFzgg7Jo
Be sure you've installed the correct ROM according to your current bootloader.
Cheers!
