A little help please - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Forgive me if this is posted but I couldn't find this specific answer. I am going to try my luck at making icons ... What size should they be and how do I make them available to others?

Well you can make them any size you want really....and if you wana make them public, you can place them in a dropbox public folder, then post the link, people can download it then.

[REQ]Solid black notification pulldown bar

I have searched and not been able to find this anywhere. Anyhelp would be appreciated. The only way I would know how to install would be through clockwork. I am running the supernova rom. Thanks
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I think flashing just the pulldown bar would remove your theme along with it.
Sent from my SPH-D700
If you mean something like this pic I post, you MAY be able to pull it from Bionix Black theme. That's what I am running. I haven't seen this on any other theme that I can remember

Take your ROM zip and open it with WinRAR or 7zip, navigate to system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/
You will find a file in there called statusbar_background.9.png
That is your status bar, color it black and stick it back into the ROM zip and reflash the ROM.
Doesn't get much easier than that...

@Paul Thanked and Thanks
9patch pngs need to be compiled though... but just changing the name of a regular one and sticking it in there might work, but I'm not sure how it will handle the stretching when it tries to decompile

Ive been trying to learn more about this myself.. Like how to edit .9 images and xmls. I have been searching for guides and just going by trial and error but it seems like im at a dead end.. Cant find enough info to even get started. Editing png files with paint.net is easy, but if anyone could point me in the right direction for a place to learn how to go more in depth with xml and .9s, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have watched that video, I'm more looking for ways to do things such as transparent notification pulldown, theme the menu (selections, over scroll), theme the dialer, etc.. That would be awesome if we could get some help with this! I would be willing to throw a donation to you if I could get a better understanding of how to start.

Mass storage?

Thom75 said:
Hello Everyone,
Last time I faced with that problem to. All I was needed I found here so thank You for sharing information and fix. :good:
Because it wasn't working when I did changes in build.prop and I don't like flash unknown files (version, source)
I did some research and there is result. All what You need is:
1) change line in build.prop
from:
Code:
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp
to:
Code:
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage
2) add value:
Code:
android:allowMassStorage="true"
in framework-res.apk/res/xml/storage_list.xml
where oryginal line look like this:
Code:
<storage android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard0" android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card" android:primary="true" android:removable="true" android:maxFileSize="4096" />
after change look like this:
Code:
<storage android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard0" android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card" android:primary="true" android:removable="true" android:allowMassStorage="true" android:maxFileSize="4096" />
After that You'll get another option in storage configuration panel.
Tested on my Sony LwW, CM10 FXP203. :victory:

[REQ] Softkey Buttons

Hello All,
Almost 2 years ago when I had the Galaxy Nexus someone created me softkey icons that looked 99,9% like these:
http://tinypic.com/r/b47udz/5
I've lost the file and the download link in my PM's don't work anymore.
So my question is; Is anyone good at photoshop and can possible make these icons for me? Like 5 icons total? So the three on the picture and perhaps a settings button and a button to lower the keyboard(the arrow down button)?
Hope I'm not asking to much.
Thanks for reading!
