I had dharvey's vista black installed on my verizon 6900 for about a year now with no problems. I just upgraded to nfsfan's v13 rom. I flashed it 4 times, and my radio version is 3.42.30. I let the roms do their customizations each time, and on the 4th time I ran vzw carriers, and used codybear's faq for verizon setup. when I open internet explorer, says internet explorer up at the top, the screen pops up, and immediately closes out of the program. I installed opera. when I try to go to www.google.com, the phone tells me its opening up the cellular line. the dialog goes away, it the phone freezes. I have this same result when trying to use weather on the today page, as well as any other internet program. Any suggestions?
use my rom instead...

Whosdaman....I've downloaded and installed your rom. Good job on your rom, and I especially like the splash screens. I"m noticing alot of issues with the keyboard. I cannot change keyboards, even the ones provided with the os. Also, if i push Q, it inputs the number 1 and repeats. same thing with v, it inputs the parenthesis and continues it, even after closing the program and openening another. I have also been unable to install opera, it says the installation was unsuccessful. This is the same with S2U2
I would prefer to get NFSFAN's rom working. I like the today desktop as I have never been a fan of touchflo's desktop interface. There are a few other minor details that cause me to lean towards this rom.
Does anyone know what would cause a verizon 6900 to freeze when first starting a data connection on NFSFAN's rom?
i installed *virtuous_unity-v1.27.0 & then RunnyDrOiD_v3.0_By_PVTeam* on my G2. At the initial boot the phone rebooted as soon as it connected to my mobile network (it rebooted almost 3 times) .then i tried booting with my sim card out and it worked. then again i inserted the sim and tried ...the phone started normally & connected to my network(still no problem) ...but as soon as it starts data connection my phone hangs & reboots ...this happens untill i put my phone on FLIGHT MODE.
please help as i doubt if this problem is with my phone or the roms (as im getting this same issue on both above roms i've installed).
Anyone??

Did you flash the DZ Hboot before flashing those particular ROMs? I'm assuming so... have you tried posting in those ROM threads? Maybe someone there has an idea... I've never used those ROMs or had a similar problem. But it might be worth obtaining a new SIM card. They do tend to have problems as they get older. Do you have the same (or any other SIM/network related) problems on other ROMs?
If you did not flash the DZ Hboot... well, then the ROMs shouldn't really be booting at all. The DZ Hboot allocates more system memory so that the G2 can handle the gigantic monster that is Sense. Here's a link to a great how-to for changing Hboots: http://www.virtuousrom.com/2011/06/t-mobile-g2-users-migrating-to-desirez.html
The link for the PC10IMG file doesn't work at the moment but it's available on the wiki, or I can PM it to you. And of course, if you have already done this, please disregard.
Wouldn't you get bootloops with no dz hboot? OP stated it works without sim or when airplane is enabled.
Try a non sense rom and see what happens

Yeah, one would think... I just happened to read another thread the OP posted in, and I inferred that, perhaps, he hadn't switched Hboots. So, I thought I'd mention it.
hi all
i have a droid incredible 2, rooted with cm9, i am now in europe in vacation but after i rooted it it doesn't read gsm sim cards anymore!!
i tried the cm10 and still it doesn't even recognize it!
i tried to use several other cm9 roms (cm9 OFFICIAL GLOBAL, cm9 Unofficial but none of them detected the sim) . i tried a miui, incredible_2_HD, and god knows whatelse (...yes, spent lots of time here) , they did recognize the sim but just kept endlessly rebooting my inc2 after showing the home screen!!!
1) do those non-cm9 roms need aeroevans kernel and googleapps installed too?
the cm9s up are more stable, so i tried the build 4 for cm10 cause it mentioned it worked with GSM networks. no luck, i get data through wifi but it doesn't even see i have a sim card in there!!
oh, and if i recover the original verizon's OS it just keeps rebooting as soon as it hits the home screen...endlessly!!!!!
any idea why that happens!?
so...there is any way i can use a gsm simcard in any rom on my incredible 2?!!?!
thanks
I am curious too... I bought this phone to unlock and it doesn't recognize there is a sim card in the phone at all... It would see the reader isn't reading... I believe it's stock but I haven't even played with it. It needed a new usb port so I fixed it and got the unlock code from verizon. I have successfully unlocked two other phones so I'm not sure what could be the problem... Never had one not see the sim
Edit... Still doesnt see tge sim but successfully unlocked it

cm7 works just fine, just no sim contacts (use a different phone to back them up and you're good) and now the computer refuses to acknowlege the phone's existance
hi, i have a galaxy note 2 currently running 4.1.1 and a friend of mine downgraded it from 4.1.2 and it didnt work properly so he reflashed it to at&t (originally telus) and then reflashed it back to telus. He was attempting to unlock it. Ever since then, whenever i open messages and attempt to type, the keyboard doesnt appear. there is nothing that appears at the bottom where the keyboard should be. its just black and its definitely not in pen mode. When i usually start the phone up, it says "unfortunately, Snote has stopped working". and then when i attempt to open the app for Snote, it says there isn't enough space. When i go to enter my wifi password on the other hand, the keyboard appears. please help as soon as possible. thanks.
btw i have tried reseting and factory reseting and it hasn't solved the problem.
