New update already?

I have my dinc running skyraider vanilla 3.2, but my girlfriend is on the stock verizon pushed ota. No root (yet) but she got the update a little over a week ago. She just texted me and said theres another update trying to be pushed to her device as of today. I told her to hold off for now, as I haven't seen anything about it. Anyone seen this yet?

Someone reported on AndroidForums that Verizon and HTC confirmed there was a problem with the battery discharging quickly on 'some' phones running 2.2 and an update was forthcoming. Don't know if that's related or not.

Me, too, at 4:08 PDT today. I'm rooted though so nothing happened besides the txt msg.

Well my battery life still sucks on 2.2 so I for sure want that update. I assume I have to put back the stock recovery to get the OTA. Does anyone have a link to download it? Is it the same boot loader that 2.1 used?
Some easy instructions would be good also.

So, I have noticed that even when I kill an app, it always starts back up like a minute later...this the reason the battery life is horrible?

She just got home so I will mess with the phone in a bit and see if I can get logcat to find the link and post it up. Thanks for the info everyone. Seems helpful.

Your battery life is horrible more likely because you are running an app killer....uninstall it and I bet your battery last longer....

I just donated for titanium backup which allows you to freeze some programs. I froze skype and other bloatware and now they dont start up randomly anymore

instead of freezing the bloatware, just use titanium to remove them. go to the backup/restore tab, and tap the app you want to remove, and there should be an uninstall button.

Gingerbread Roms and Touchdown

I've posted this question in the other forums and I'll post it here.
I've tried using 2 different dev's GB Roms with Touchdown/Nitrodesk but cannot get it to connect. TD works fine with all other sense and AOSP Roms on 2.2 but not 2.3.
Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

I downloaded Inc Deck. Touchdown worked perfectly fine just using Titanium Backup for the first build.
On the second build the backup wouldn;t work, so I downloaded TD from the Market. It works, but the problem is to get to setting or the "splash page" and not just the Inbox, I have to long press the back button.
Any thoughts?

I've never had any issues with it on NilsP/NewToRoot's ROMs, and I also run it on my rooted 3.1 Xoom fine. So you enter all the info for your Exchange server and it doesn't connect? If you're on WiFi, try 3G, and vice versa.

Yep, I've emailed them about that. I had issues installing their licensing app, but I emailed my purchase order # and they sent me a license key, worked great! They are very helpful when I've emailed them with questions I must say!

Synergy RC2, no MMS at all

I searched and found some fix to delete a telephony.db file, $4 later deleted file, reboot 4 times and still no recieves pics. I can send them.
Any ideas? Are the Devs aware?

Not sure what it could be. Ran RC2 stock and RC2 Godmode and never had a problem with wife sending me pics. Have you checked to see if you have a certain size limit set on text messages?

I did the samething and still no mms. Im stuck like chuck.

Size limit is fine. It won't send or receive mms's. Even if it's 1k.

Best I can recommend is to submit a bug report Here. Also RLS1 of Synergy should be available later today or tomorrow according to Myn, so if its an issue then it may have been resolved in the impending release.
*Edit* Also check spare parts in the app menu, make sure compatibility mode is unchecked and that its not set to aggressive. Reboot and give that a shot as well.

Radios are rom independent, lots of people were downgrading their PRI to 1.77 for 3.0 roms for example. They can have a big impact. You should also update the prl and profile after flashing a new rom or radios.

You could try unchecking auto retrieve reboot, and then check auto receive, that option in in the settings - mms

Ok...installed new radio's, Re-flashed rom....still same issue.
Any other suggestions?

I had the same issue on CM7. Then flashed synergy and I still have the same problem. I've had the problem for 3 months...

I didn't have this issue with Myn Warm 2.2 as of last week. I might have to go back to it. But I REALLY like synergy

[Q] CM9 Problems

I have 4 problems with CM9 alpha 4.
1.I can't move/organize any of my apps around in the app drawer.
2.I can't setup up the face unlock, I tried but it just doesn't work
3. Every time I download a new app it makes a shortcut on the home screen.
4.The clock app always force closes.

1. Get a different launcher, google nova launcher I think it has that ability.
2. You need to be in a clear place with plenty of light for facelock to configure and needs to be there for a good amount of time.
3. Go into the market go into settings and uncheck auto add widgets.

Thank you so much, but I already tested Nova Launcher, and I still cant edit my apps in the drawer.

It also helps to read the CM9 threads like the Tip Sharing thread in General if you don't want to wade through all the posts in the Development thread. The market tip was one of the first ones posted.

golauncher ex will allow you to organize and even hide apps. it will use a little more battery to also have it running, but its worth it IMO

I used to use it, but on cm9 it just "takes away" the feeling of having ICS.

I would have suggested it but adw's animations pixelate and I've never had any pixeling on nova launcher...may want to just get used it it my draws is alphabetical its typical I've gotten used it it

Is anyone else having problems sending MMS I use Hancent...but none of my pictures ever go through?

My MMS works fine, even over wifi, with the stock application and with handcent.

When I first flashed this rom I was having the same problem with mms. I only could send them with the wifi turned off but for some reason it's working fine now.

It's built in...under security I think. It is like a password with your face as the key..

its same app but a different version, as the version that is available on the Epic is not compatible with ICS

You don't. You can use a third party text app and block it from view, but I find widgets like APW pull from the stock message app so they are still shown on the widget. You can also either wait and see if the cm team integrates a work around to hide them or use GV. I just use GV.

Unfortunately it sounds like it still streaks on CM9. It's something specific to CM9 that it causing it as it does not occur on CM7.

Using it on 2.3.16 working fine for me thanks for this!

I'm on CM09ß3 and I don't see no difference. It's still redraws like before.
