Diferences between CM7 RC1 v1 and v2 - Defy General

I just see there is v2 version. I dont see changelog anywhere so could somebody tell me please?

i really wanna know that too, anyone?

I haven't installed either, I'm still on RC0, but I've been following the development thread, and I read that rc2 has a different kernel (up to rc1 the kernel had been the same) Different kernels mean different drivers, and some people were complaining about the new wifi drivers. But other than that rc2 seemed mor stable. Any way, since neither fixes the camera yet, I've decided to stay with rc1, that I found really stable.

I did not ask for difference between RC0 and RC1.
I am interested in difference between two different versions of RC1. There is v1 and latest v2. I cannot find anywhere changelog between those two.

[Q] most stable froyo rom?

Okay this might not be the right place but I got a question.
What is the most stable froyo rom out there for the slide atm?
Meaning with full working keyboard lights, button or as close as possible. Along with the camera and camcorder working great. Just mostly everything working as good as possible. If you could, can you guys give an input on whichever rom. I really appreaciate it because the scene is booming with roms and updates for them. Thank you again in advance

CM6 RC1 is pretty stable, but you might prefer using the Eugene or teamfenix Froyo roms. Worth giving them all a try. I'm currently using the CM6 nightlies.
I just installed the new Cyanogen 6.0.0 RC1, and so far it is stable, however it is the first froyo rom I've tried, so I cannot compare to others. However, camera/recorder works, wifi works (haven't tried tether yet). No FC's yet, and a2sdfat seems to be working without issue.
Thanks for the quick replies everyone! Ill definately be looking into them.

How about swype? I thought the advantage of team fenix was the ability to install swype. Has this been solved on CM6 RC1?
I installed Swype with no problem on Cyanogen's new FroYo ROM. I took the .apk from the kanged/remixed page's Swype link and used Astro to install from SD.

Should I flash CM7_RC2 or latest Nightly??

Ummmm.... which one should I flash??
Oh and why
Thanks =)
The Nightly's has fixed some issues in the last RC. Flash the Nightly.

The latest nightly obviously is more up to date, and it of course has the fixes that the RC2 doesn't. I don't think anyone will tell you that it's any more or less stable than the RC2. For most people, the GPS has been fixed in the last few builds as well.
If I had to give a recommendation I'd say flash the nightly, the RC2 is quite old at this point as far as builds go.
Which to flash
I believe you have to flash RC2 and then the latest nightly over it, but I could be wrong on that, its just what I always have done. In fact I suggest you flash the new nightlies every time they come out. There have been a couple of times where the new nightly has screwed up more then it has fixed but the majority of the time its an improvement. Actually let me correct myself. usually I don't notice a difference however if you read the discussion forum for the nightlies then you see the problems that people had been having and are being fixed so its nice to know that if you had tried what they did it will now work

CWM or Amon-RA

I just got my Incredible replaced by Verizon, had the 5 vibrates + green light issue. At the time I had Clockwork 3.x and attempted to flash CM7 RC2 ROM.
I'm quite apprehensive about flashing my phone right now so I need some guidance on what would be the most stable option. Have no intention of using ROM manager, I'm happy to flash through recovery.
Also, should I run unrevoked forever?
Welp
Wait ... you flashed a beta of the most aggressively hacked ROM and are interested in stability?!?! LOL!
While Virtuous is extremely stable, it is also extremely neglected (and may be partially older beta; an accusation which the cooker never responded to despite specific filenames being provided).
I have found Magnolia to be rock solid and it is actively developed.
As for rooting, S-Off, Custom Rom's, they all void your warranty, so if you are nervous (or care) then don't do it. You can't really get very far if you don't run S-OFF, though.

Not sure what you mean by this, I have found CM7 to be very stable and usable. I would suggust that you use the latest nightly, there were issues with both RC's, but Nightly 30 is very stable and usable. Only issue is that some (not many, just a few) people are having issues with the camcorder. There is a very active thread for the nightlies in the development forums.

Nightly #29,30 have a camcorder issue which is experienced by ALL who are using it. #28 is the last one with a functioning camcorder as of now

What is a "nightly" ?

Sorry for asking this but i installed CM7 and i saw in the thread a link to nightlies.
My only problem is i dunno what a nightly is and i'm searching for the past 20 min to find a definition and nothing.
So can someone please tell me what it is?
Thanks in advance.
It's a build of the rom that comes out every night
DROID X running liberty GB V.8

you can find a link to 'github' on the original cm7 threads first post, there. and yeah, nightlies can be unstable, but can be more stable than the rc, too! for example, the nightly 110808 is much better than the rc1 in every aspect i think...

You must wipe cache and dalvik before (and I suggest after too) installing nightly zip for reduce possible bugs, but not wipe data, so you can keep your settings and data.
Thanks, Nightly work way better than RC1. I've installed cm7-110814-0202-NIGHTLY-Jordan
thank you guys, it is puzzled me too, but now it is clear. thx.

AOSP without blue tooth bug

I need to find a GB rom without the blue tooth bug that is in the newer CM7 rom's. What is the best alternative right now? I prefer an AOSP rom, but I guess I can deal with a sense rom. I'm a huge fan of CM but I really need this problem solved.

One option is to use an older cm nightly. 152 is confirmed to work. Have you tried kuskdeck's ROM or omgb/omfgb?

I actually just went with the stock + rom. I think I will just use this one until its confirmed that CM has fixed the blue tooth bugs.
Ok the stock + rom goes through batteries in about half the time of cm7 or bugless. I really need an aosp rom without this bug. Is their one yet that doesn't require additional steps to fix.

In a nut shell, it's kernel based. The newest stock cm-kernel, (and incredikernel, once I pointed tiny in the right direction), has it fixed, so grab the latest nightly or flash the latest incredikernel. This has been fixed for 2-3 days officially, and I had an unofficial patched kernel out about 11 days ago. To be a little more up to date on these matters, follow my thread on Rootz, which is handily linked in my signature
