Do any of the gingerbread leaks work with wireless tether?
I don't know if it has to baked into the rom or if you just need root. If you just need root where can you find the .apk for it?
I don't run GB, so can't answer your question but am pretty sure you will need root to run wifi or wireless tether as this is the case on Froyo. If you are rooted, you can download .apk's for wifi and/or wireless tether from http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
Anyone have some experience with this?

I've been having problems with my wireless tether for root users app.
I have my g2 temp rooted by visionary and downloaded wireless tether 2_0_6 but when I activate wireless tether the download speed will only go to .4mbps and the upload speed will be worse. It says wired tethering seems to be running and I need to get rid of it but what does that mean? I have PDAnet installed also if that's got anything to do with it.

Did u uninstall pdanet? I read in the forum that having that installed breaks the wireless tether app.

Really I don't think so. Currently running. Nightly #25 build in wireless tether works like a champ. But eats my batt really fast.

Hi,
What is the best way to USB tether my rooted EVO? I would like to tether to my PC which doesn't have wireless.
A free app would be best and I need access to secure sites.

I believe nearly all roms now have that native feature of the phone unlocked. You shouldn't need a third party app to do it. What rom are you running?
If you do want to use an app, you could try Easy Tether or PDAnet. I don't think either are free for the full version though.

Okay, I have searched for days on XDA for hotspot usb tether hack for 2.3 gingerbread. I really like the synergy roms as well as the king roms. Only down side is that I have no usb tether.
I use "Wireless Tether" from the market for my hotspot fix as of now. Just wondering why I can't find a mod for Odex roms on 2.3 for native hotspot and usb tether?
Any help or education on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The previous 2 posts handle all of your needs. Hotspot hack is only for 3g right now Wifi Tether works great for 4g needs

STOCK E4GT with root... when I try to load any version of Wifi Tether it makes my wifi radio not work again at ALL until I uninstall wifi tether AND run another app that utilizes the wifi radio like the kies app after a restart. This is consistent after 4 different version attempts. I do NOT want to try to the deodexed hotspot hack until the LOS fix is official, because I do not want to run anything but stock until then. Anyone in my boat that has figured out how to make it all play nicely?

Let me see if I have what you said right. Without any tether app installed, just the sprint hotspot, the hotspot works. But then if you install wireless or wifi tether it makes the sprint hotspot not work?

...not entirely. I mean the wifi could not connect to an access point until I ran the kies app. Did not try the stock tether app, because I don't want to pay for a service that I may use a couple times a year.
Also, seeing your sig you may be the person to help me. What is the best speed controller/motor combo for an old school RC10T that I want to get going again in a big way? Reverse stopped working a while ago and I am pretty sure the motor is shot as well. Been seeing some people clock ridiculous speeds with some of the new repower kits out there.
Never have been an electric guy, always nitro. But the brushless stuff is where its at and running lipo batts. Castle creations is one of the best companies out along with teken. Pricey stuff but they are well worth it. If you want more shoot me a pm.

Should work on first go, you may need to try older versions of it since I don't use the latest version and don't know if its compatible. Good Luck!
If that one doesn't work use this one >http://db.tt/Q6n9nOge after you start the app but before you start the tethering you will need to go into settings and change the first setting to epic 4g and the second setting to softap... I use this on every rom that I run and it has never failed me!

I am pretty sure that CleanGB has the hacked Sprint Hotspot app (renamed to Wireless Hotspot). I know the BML version does. Just use that. To me, it seems more stable than WiFi-Tether.

You can use the hacked hotspot or use the wireless tether for root users. I use the Beta 8, beta 9 and up gives problems.
