Ok guys need some advice.
Do i need to partion my sd card with synergy rom? And if I do what a2sd should I use.
btw huge kudos to the synergy rom team for creating an awsesome rom.
i dont think you have to partition your sd card..but its recommended. as soon as we have a root method for 2.3.3, im going to use that ROM!

Well I have had my phone rooted since last september. However I can say go with this rom asap. The team of devs is amazing.
There's a topic in Development about partitioning that has ALL the steps you need AND there's another topic on THIS section that has ALL the steps you need.
That search button really works, so does reading a few thread headlines.
I'll make it even easier for you:

Hip, I did read that thread about partioning. Maybe I being dumb here. but by partioning my sd card, does that free space on the internal memory which helps for more apps or does it help with the speed of the phone?

This frees up a TON of space from your phone. I'm pretty sure it also slightly speeds up the phone.

Help: Is it possible to flash android OS without use of an SD Card? SD slot isnt working in my kaiser due to flex problem..reading through the help guide..seems impossible to proceed with the NAND due to use of SD card..thanks
I haven't seen anyone do that yet, but I'm sure something could be worked out. The problem is if you were to get "androidinstall.tar" directly on the NAND, there would be almost no room left for the install to take place.
not possible yet,
Read ALL of this for starters...

Do exactly as everything says, in the order given, and you should be able to do it on your own.

It's nice that you are trying to be helpful but please at least READ the message before making a post. The op indicated he could not do a normal install because his SD slot is broken therefore pointing him to the tutorial that requires using a sd slot makes no sense.
You can't do it, i already answer to this question in another thread!
Search button is your friend.
Thanks for the replies and for the one who defended..am no starter for flashing roms though..and i know how to search..was just asking if its possible..felt sorry for my poor old kaisier..
My apologies

I apologize for my work computer being stupid. I was replying to another thread and it posted it here. Was wondering where it went and now I know...lol.
Work computers running XP and IE7 no less, lots of page refresh issues.
Ok I am sure this has been posted here many times. The OS for the wildfire s is one big piece of crap to say the least. I want to install a custom OS that will allow me to put apps and games on the sd card instead of the internal memory. I would just like to be in full control of the OS of which I am not now. What is the simplest and best way to achieve this. I have read several things but not exactly sure what to do. I would like to know what the best software to use that also has a good tutorial for it as well. My wife has had this htc wildfire for just over a month and the internal storage full has been on for weeks. This must be one of the most poorly designed phones I have ever seen. It has all kinds of crap on the phone that my wife will never use. I was also curious as to what software would be could to view the internal memory of the phone with my pc, or can you even do this with the standard OS installed on the phone. I would greatly appreciate any helpful input concerning my questions and thank you kindly.

Read the index thread...All you need to know is there.
I suggest the following topics:
-XTC Clip your phone if it's GSM
-How to S-OFF CDMA phones
-How to root your phone and install custom Clockwork recovery
-Using DATA2SD, DATA2WHATEVER, APPS2SD, or my favorite LINKS2SD
-How to custom partition your internal memory
-Installing CM7.2 Nightly builds
That should get you going.
Thank you very much sir. Looks like I have quite a bit of reading ahead of me before I will be attempting anything. LOL

Hi,
I wanted to ask you how it is possible to do the custom partition of the internal memory. I did with my ZTE Blade but now I would like to do it aslo with Wildfire S but I did not find any tutorial how to do it with this phone. Could you please send me the link how to do it or to post a tutorial? I was trying to find it but either Im blind or its just nowhere.
Thank you
What if i make ext partitions on two SD, then install a specific rom on both, can i swap them?
Thanks
Edit: SDs not SdD, stupid keyboard
i think this is a pointless thread you cant install two roms in one phone.

Wrong. Bootmanager. It has it's limitations though... such as giving you trouble with D2EXT and A2SD ROMs etc. I don't use it, didn't really like it, but the possibility to do what you want is there.
So before you answer, make sure what you say is correct, instead of misleading people.
Ok so i got misunderstood, i don't want to install two rom, the same rom on two cards, to be swapable for ex. with my camera.

For what?
And unless you install a D2EXT/ A2SD ROM you'll be fine

Because all new sense roms need partitions.
Not a big need, just wondering if i could.
Hey, I have htc wildfire s with s-on running on 2.3.5....
I want to root it to use applications that require a root..
I want to know is it possible to increase internal memory or use sd card partition to utilise as an internal mamory? If yes, then how to do it?
and I want a simple root... means no upgrading for 4.0 ICS is required for me.
I am a new to rooting.. so please explain me in simple way..
I dont understand the bootloader and clockmode recovery like words..
Please help me..
To be honest, if you don't understand the bootloader etc you may be better off leaving the phone alone, as you need to modify it to achieve rooting of the device.
This section is full of well written tutorials that are easy to follow.
Just use search function for how to root your wildfire s.
Look at the link below, it has a bit of advise and some links to look at.

Thanks for reply... but can i do the partition? and can i install all applications if I partitioned sd card of 1 gb for Internal Memory..??
Simple answer is no, there are a few apps that will move apps to the SD card (some apps cannot be moved though)
This is one reason why people root the device....to free up memory and remove unwanted service provider apps etc.
It is a fairly simple process, take the plunge and root the device.

hey... first try to search for the post.... this question hase been asked a lot of times... and post in correct section.....
BTW... you can root your device easily... it is just simple... and you can increase your internal memory by creating a ext partition in your memory card (data2sd)..
1. To unlock your Bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432199
2. To Root your Device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
Then if you love the stock rom... there is lot of Custom Sense Rom available... You can choose one of them... I prefer the following three...
Wildchild v2.0http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1652973AlaaDragonfire_Rom v2.0http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1773156HenseMod 7http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1434497
3. Then to increase internal memory first create a EXT2 partition on your memory card http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432459 Follow the first 20 Steps... then use the Data2SD Zip to flash from recovery.... See the attachment..

Hi guys.
Could we please get a write-up on some technical info about the internal arrangement of the Galaxy S3?
Which partitions exist and how are they mounted?
How is the Internal SD card being used?
Where are the installed apps located?
What's involved in installing a .APK file?
How do you move an installed app from internal to external storage?
How do you wipe out the entire phone storage and memory and restore it to factory settings?
What do you do when your internal storage runs low?
When do you use ODIN and when do use use Recovery mode?
What is the USB Debug setting used for?
How come some models can have custom ROMS while others cannot?
How do you boot the cell from an external SD card in case normal bootup and custom recovery fail?
I'd like to have explanations to all of the above, along with addition suggested information
in one easy-to-access location, without having to search the entire forums for bits and pieces.
Can we do this? Is this even feasible?
I'd love to see this happen!
Thanks everyone! :good:
You want other people to do all the research for you? Why don't you make a guide for all of this. I don't mean to be a complete ***hole, but come on man.

For the simple reason that only the developers have the answers, and I am not a developer.
If I were, I wouldn't have made the initial post.
That's not true, most of what you asked about can be found with a little searching and most people here are not developers, just users with knowledge.

I have to agree with metalfan78 on this one. The guide is very much possible to put together and I'm sure that if you or someone else decides to put this guide together that if search doesn't find the answer to question that a quick pm to a developer will!
