After flashing my Cingular 8525 device with LVSW's latest WM6 rom, I can no longer send text (sms) messages to an email address as I was able to do before.
I found a workaround for this actually. I found this on wikibooks:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cingular_Wireless_FAQ#How_Can_I_Send_E-mail_From_Any_Cingular_Phone.3F
Basically instead of sending an email direct to an email address, you would send it to 121 with the email address at the beginning of the message body followed by a space. I tested it and it works, but it is a pain as I have to manually type the email address rather than choosing it from my address book.
Does anyone know of a permanent fix for this problem? The problem seems to be that there is no longer a gateway between SMS and email. I tried searching the registry for a possible fix but nothing jumps out at me. I also tried searching the forums and the wiki but to no avail.
Kudos to LVSW for a great rom, BTW...
This one might help,
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings]
"SMStoSMTPShortCode"="121"

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried adding that value to my registry but it still isn't letting me send an SMS to an email address. Here's the exact error message:
"Cannot recognize one or more recipients or the address is not valid. Would you like to send the message anyway?"
So I hit yes then it says:
"The Text Message account cannot be used to send e-mail messages."
Anybody have any more ideas? Tomorrow I'm going to get a hold of a buddy at work that has a Cingular 8525 and see if I can find the settings in his registry.
Is this something that will be fixed possibly with the Cingular apps cab install? Or is that only applications and not settings such as this?
Try this one

Maybe it could resolve
Hi,
Have the same error message on my TyTN when trying to send or reply to any SMS I receive.
Have found a solution on the web to resolve this and remove the error message :
go to messaging/menu/options/address tab
(in, contacts, get email addresses from) : choose [all e-mail fields].
Hope it can help some users ...
Regards to all
Thanks.
It did help. Solved m SMS problem.

Hi,
I'm having problems sending an SMS from an outlook contact. All my contacts have a number like +31 (010) 1234567. Outlook creates the numbers in that format automaticaly if you fill in country, city/area code and local number. When I synchronize outlook with my HTC P3300 the numbers are in this format. I can call without a problem, internally?? the number is stipped from the brackets and the leading zero in the areacode. When I try to send an SMS it does not work, sms is not send. Some experimenting shows that (010) 1234567 will work, +31 (10) 1234567 will work, but +31 (010) 1234567 will not work when sending an sms, only when making a call. I've searched this forum for a sollution, but there are a lot of messages here so maybe I've overlooked the answer
Does anyone have a sollution for this? Thank you in advance
Hello,
I am looking for a programm that will send an e-mail, if an sms has come in so that I will be informed on my pc on that.
Does anyone knows such a program?
Mort
For our work process, we send SMS to our customers via the phone so that there is a chat log to check the conversation history. We have a custom code in ms Access (vba) which the program automatically process the message we want to send.
With the button in ms access, it will use the software myPhoneDesktop to send a message to the iPhone. This iPhone will in turn decrypt the message and set the message in the SMS app so that the phone number and message are in the right place. All we need to do is to press the 'Send' button on the iPhone.
We now want to upgrade to the Note II and wonder if there are anything similar. There is a MobileGo by Wondershare which has an excellent SMS function which we can send SMS directly on the desktop (the messages are also logged in the SMS thread so it's exactly like sending through the phone) or Moborobo which does it similar.
What we need now is to make a similar function in ms access to automatically send the message through this software so we do not need to copy and paste the message ourselves. I have thought of using macro, but it will have to record mouse clicks and everything so it's not efficient in the long run.
Ufff... I'm sorry I can't help more, but the only thing I can think of are:
1) Use an app that allows you to send an email, or reply to an email (which is actually an SMS Forwarded from your phone) and having the reply be sent as an email.
2) Samsung Kies Air and Airdroid offer sending SMS through its interface.
But I don't know of anything that can help you through Access :s. Sorry
Install MyPhoneExplorer on your gNote-II and MyPhone Explorer (PC Client) on your PC. With this now you can use your PC client to send SMS. Further, you may integrate the PC app with your MS access for further needful..
Google MyPhoneExplorer for links...
I am not sure whether I understand the question correctly, but have a look at MightyText
Whenever I try to send text messages, it is sending mms' by default to some of the contacts. I don't know how to make the device stop doing that does anyone have any idea?
