[Q] Wildfire performance tips and tricks please! - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I'd like to know is there any apps or roms that would make my wildfire work faster with apps and games. Any performance upgrades or anything. All tips and tricks are welcome. I just want all out of my phone, you know
I'm using
HTC Buzz: Wildfire (Suprise!)
Cyanogenmod 7
SetCpu ~ 768mzh
3.35.20.10 Radio
I haven't changed the kernel, cause i heard the cyanogenmod kernel is one of the best to wildfire.
Thanks already

try disabling animations between the screen, it helps a lot. Also, I'm releasing my 3rd rom, and the first was one of the fastests roms

Thanks!
Has anyone else nothing to say. I'd like to heard all of you advices

I overclocked mine untill 730MHz. I can overclock till 768MHz, but I got less mflops at this setting that with 730MHz. Using jokerdroid ROM

[Q] Are the HD sense roms slower than the normal Sense roms?

Greetings XDA members,
I bought a desire 3 weeks ago and so far I am really satisfied with it.
After exploring this site, I learned that it is possible to load the new sense on the desire. With the camera working, it becomes even more attractive.
My question is: are the HD sense roms slower than the normal sense roms?
Because this is one thing I really want: a speedy phone (no lag when browsing menus, homescreens, etc...). Is it possible to compare a quadrant score?
I now run stock unrooted 2.2 froyo.
Thanx!
im actually experiencing WAY faster response, the original sense had some lag, the HD does not. but this is my experience.
I Switched from Modaco R9 to RCmixHD yesterday as the Camera fix came out.
My Experience ist that the HD ROM is much faster and more responsive.
Quadrant is about 1650 +-50 points.
The first boot of RCmixHD takes a very long time, but after that it runs like hell!
Yep, HD ROM is noticeably quicker than stock Sense
good ROM, stable, quick, no lag for the moment.
1st boot really long.
Yep, new-Sense seems faster to me despite all the pretty animations. Quadrant confirms this, despite the fact that I'm using the same richardtrip kernel as I was with Auraxt.

I have the same quadrant score running aurax so thats not a score. I've been trying RCMixHD but came back to stock sense.. nothing special for now. When the new sense officially appear for desire it will be much more new custom, better roms.

But the non-HD ROMs are all tweaked up to hell to get them quick. I get 1700+ with NO tweaks made to the ROM and on the stock kernel that it comes with. If I was to play with UVOC and the like we could be over 2000
Nice, i'll try it again if the camera fully work.

Which way to root?
okay, thanks for the quick replies. I'm pretty sure the HD rom is better than what I have now
Second question: What is the best way to root my phone because I find dozens of methods to do it and some say it won't work on 2.2 etc?
I had 2.2 when I bought the phone.
software-number: 2.10.405.2
H-boot: 0.93
Can I use unrevoked 3.21? Or is that not possible because I already have 2.2?
Thank you again for the help!
As I remember you have to downgrade your hboot and then try unrevorked. Best and easy.

Just try Unrevoked without downgrading something, it will work
Don't forget to install the modded USB-Drivers...
You don't need to downgrade just run unrevoked and it will work.
after reading HD rom is faster than stock rom, i would love to flash it on my desire....i have a rooted desire running Leedroid 2.2f, what version of HD rom do you suggest ? also how do i back up everything except the system apps etc ? the leedroid i flashed was after i rooted my desire for the first time and i am a newbie at flashing, rooting etc
And my last question...
okay thanks, I just don't want to brick my phone. That's the reason for all my questions...
last question: Today I use HTC Sync to sync playlists with itunes and contacts and agenda with outlook. I now you have to uninstall HTC Sync to perform the rooting and flashing. But can you use it afterwards to sync all that info and media?
Thank you!
I found it is much faster since using the HD rom has anyone signed up to the htcsense.com service? Or are you leaving it incase the desire officially gets the new sense.
i think there faster then ne most sense roms. some of the HD Sense RomĀ“s are slowly but most of them are fast
You have to uninstall HTC Sync before rooting!
After u can reinstall it again!
Some things in the HD ROMs are definately slower (even if only some) .. for example one important thing: pulling out the notification area lags a bit if you didn't do it for a while. Might sound minor bit annoyed me after some time...
Ge...ta...ta...tapatalked mit meinem Desire
Firstly, Quadrant and such I ignore and they mean nothing to me. Actual usage dictates.
Desire HD Sense is faster/smoother/more responsive overall. It's also more polished up in many areas. I've noticed the speed with certain apps (camera/those using camera) and the browser. I'm saying this with over 20 constantly sync'ing, chunky widgets on the screens which made the HTC Desire 2.2 Sense lag. Especially Pure Messenger.
The only semi-bug I have is network band switching causing a high amount of lag when it occurs. Pretty much everything freezes up for a few seconds at those moments while I don't get that on the typical HTC 2.2 ROM. This still may not be ROM related though.
I sincerely think anyone comfortable with stock 2.2 or a tweaked version of it will love the HD ROM once they've tried it. My experience is only with RCMixHD to make it clear.

[Q] My Desire became very laggy slow :( RCmix HD

Hello Guys,
I know there are LOTS OF topics for that, but nothing helped me to make ma desire faster ...
I tried a million ROMs , and i must say the best and fastest ROM was MIUI but there i had the SIMLOCK problem, i dont know if its fixed now. ( but i like Sense ROMS)
Im using the RCmix HD ROM now and i wanted to tell that my smartphone become very laggy when i began to use a Sende ROM ...
I tried everything : Task Killer, Overclocking the CPU but nothing helped.. Now im thinking about selling my smartphone if i cant get it faster ...
It would be great if someone can help me out of this problem
Could be a number of issues. Install a stock rom and see if you get anywhere with that. Define laggy as well.
PS. Don't use task killers.
I want to try with an other kernel, but i never made it before, changing the kernel.
I know how to install it but dont know whcih kernel i must choose for the RCMix HD Rom...
If someone show me a good kernel for this it would be very helpful
Could be some programs that you're running/didn't close properly that is using up the cpu.
I personally can swear by Oxygen rom(Froyo) and GingerVillian (Gingerbread).
I've been using gingervillian for more than a month and its very fast.

Err, i find it acceptable. But that's just me, you should try different roms, to see what you like best.

Which type of HD Rom are you running? A2SD, D2EXT, A2WE

[Q] recommendations ( kernel, radio,RIL)

Hi all
i'm currently using an AOSP ROM, namely MIUI 1.6.5 on a HTC desire (NON HD...)
which combination RADIO,RIL,Kernel do you guys suggests for this Rom
( I have found such topic for desire HD but nothing for std desire...) in order to get the best battery performance
rgds
I updated my radio to 5.17.05.23 as this helps. As for my kernel, I used the ManU kernel but I used the vipermod as well to lower the voltages. From light/moderate use you could get 2 days easy. As for the RIL it doesn't really make much of a battery life saver really so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

help

which is the best rom. for wildfire having Max. speed...
CM7 - removes all htc bloat and can be overclocked (at your own risk)

That's a question to be asked yourself.
AOSP roms have jit and are stable but they dont have sense widgets. The good part in sense roms is sense widgets and their integration to accounts like facebook, twitter etc..,
Check some roms and decide yourself. Depends on ur needs
bt cyanogen is nt working properly....its slow...any gd recomendation plz..........
and what is overclocked ??????sry i m new at it plz say.........

I think only u r saying it slow. Its really fast. Atleast I feel
Overclocking is increasing of cpu frequency to speed up the phone. We can find the difference but it wont be superfast. U can find it under settings / cyanogenmod settings / performance.

Stick with Sense ROMs then, like JokerDroid, WildPuzzle and DK.
What is sence roms? ???

Cn u plz tell me how to speed up the phone .....plZ

head over to the Android Development section of the the wildfire forum and start reading about rooting your phone. I suggest using unRevoked. Once rooted a kernel needs to be flashed, i suggest HCDR.Jacobs.kernel v4.1 ad v4.2 has minor issues with wifi on some roms. The kernel is flashed in recovery which you should be familiar with if you are talking about roms and such. Once the kernel is installed you can download setCPU and overclock the phone to whatever you desire.
That is how you speed up the phone, if you wish to speed up startup browse the xda-developers home page and find the startup manager app, only a few days old and disable startup apps.
Next in terms of roms and speed, guys there is no clear definition as to what is meant by fast, true HTC sense roms are bloated but they make sense and usually allow you to get things done quicker and easier, cm7 is fast in terms of startup and how barebone the rom is. Both are fast and remember the rom is only as bloated as you make it yourself.
Another thing to keep in mind when talking about speed is the speed of your memory card, here the different classes come into play like a class 4 memory card will be faster than a class 2 and so forth.
Last but not least i would like to add that the fastest i have ever gotten my phone was at 245mhz min and 710mhz (ofcourse i could go to 760, but 710 is a sweetspot) max overclocked running a froyo sense with ADW EX launcher set to a preset default of performance. I assure you i have never seen the app drawer open and close and scroll as fast as that.
Hope that helps
CM7 is certainly the fastest.

miui kernel

Hey guys got the newest miui.us Tom and wanted a kernel witch I may overclock to 1152,1190 or more.thx
if you overclock that much you'd be looking at not much more performance and a much more unstable phone - reboots, crashes, overheating etc.
Stick to the stock one.
ah you again! Let me guess, Linpak scores again huh?!
haha forget it mate, its bullsh*t
Its not linpack.I want to overclock to have a faster phone.what rom and kernel do you use.and could you tell me whiych benchmark is good for checking CPU.

try MIUI-XJ x-parted, it is fast and stable ROM which i came across + Tiamat 4.0.1
note: after flashing it will reboot twice, give some time for the rom to settle before you flash add-ons
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957291
I have tried before CyanogenMod, GingerVillian, Oxygen, Redux, Cool 3D Sense 3.5 and InsertCoin CM7 1.1.3 (Sense 2.1) ROMs.
Mate, you have opened 8 stupid and senseless threads about overclock in the past month. Get your grip together ffs. Or simply buy a new phone with better cpu.
