Defy with CM7 RC1.
I've configured the email app with my work email settings (it uses SyncML, used to work fine with the stock ROM). The setup and authentication went through, it asked the usual questions about whether I wanted to sync contacts + calendar + email, and push email settings etc. But no mail every shows up in the Inbox, nor can I send mail. Any ideas?

I just wiped and loaded a new ROM. I then added Touchdown back as my e-mail app. It synced everything fine but when I go to make a call none of my contacts are listed and none of the names are showing up in my sms messages (only numbers). I added an Exchange acct to only grab my contacts and that worked but it seems like I am duplicating efforts since I already have exchange synced up with me device via Touchdown. What gives?
The main reason I use Touchdown is for HTML mail (company not using latest exchange version)...wondering if TD has been battery hog all along...?
When I flash CM6/CM7 on my EVO, I am able to send emails to anyone in my Exchange/Active Sync directory. The contacts do not show up in my contacts app, but when I enter a name of a co-worker in the "TO" field in email, all associated names in the company directory show up. *which is expected*
However, when I go back to stock ROM (HTC Sense), and setup my Exchange/Active Sync stuff, co-workers in the company directory do not show up as they do when running an AOSP ROM. I made sure "sync contacts" is selected but nothing works.
Has anyone else experienced this, or know of a fix?
I am using the default email app with both ROMS, and setting up the email correctly.
I can send and receive email just fine. All of my work calendar items are visible, and do sync. It's just the contacts I am having trouble with.
Thanks.
I'm using the Leedroid HD Rom and have setup Push email for my MSN/Hotmail account in the default email app, however I don't receive the emails unless I have the app open on the screen. It doesn't seem to run in the background as Gmail does. Has anyone successfully got Hotmail/MSN working with push email?
I have tried to setup Push within K9 but it fails to accept the settings, I'm wondering if the default port shown in K9 is wrong?
Any advice appreciated.
I have the exact same problem with gmail.
I have setup gmail as an exchange account in order to have push mail functionality but it does not work
I have a google apps email id from work. When i configure this id using the Corporate account (Exchange) option in accounts and sync (not as the GMail option), all messages and contacts get synced properly. But when i open any email i just get to see the sender the address list and the email subject. The actual email text in the mail does not get displayed.
Anyone faced this issue and got a way around it. I know i can configure the GMail app for this mail id, but wanted to make sure the native email app works since i have a couple of gmail ids already configured in the GMail app and do not want to mix this with other id's and miss my work mails.
no one with a reply ??
I have not been able to get mail pushed in almost 3 weeks. I always have to manually retrieve/refresh. I have tried using the native email and the gmail app but neither have any push option. I have sync on (both inside the email options and inside the Accounts Sync), power saver is OFF.
Has anyone else been able to consistantly have their yahoo and gmail email accounts pushed to this phone?

I use K-9 and would recommend trying that for your email. I went ahead and tested with my Gmail account and personal account. The default email app didn't push my personal account or my gmail account. I turned on sync for Gmail and after a couple minutes syncing, I then sent a test message on computer and received notification within seconds on phone.
I installed aqua mail last night and so far push is working like it should. Thanks for responding.
