Update on the Trident case situation. (good news and bad news)

Bad news.
we have been put off untill "mid-december/right in time for christmas" some of you already knew this.
GOOOOD NEWS!
Originally we were only supposed to get the ageis case, BUT according to tridents facebook page we will also be getting their....... KRAKEN A.M.S!
this info was just released on their fb page Wednesday.
Trident Case:
"Originally, the Kraken AMS for the T989 was designed for Japan/Europe and AT&T devices only but we revamped it to fit the T-mobile version as well. The release dates are targeted more than likely to be accurate. Although, some products do hit a slight delay depending if the production went smoothly or not. As far as we know, mid December is the target date and we'll inform you once it arrives."

I case you didn't know the kraken ams is a 1 to 1 compitetor to the otter-idgaf about any non apple product-box defender.....But the ams also has a metal kickstand..

Great news. I'm still waiting for a good kickstand case. Case mate has been taking forever to finish their tmo version.

I am not entirely sure about this so don't quote me on it... however it looks like the kraken ams case for our phone wont have a built in screen protector. Which is fine by me, I'm jot to fond of them.
I am saying this based on the other non-iphone kraken ams cases I have seen so far, they don't have them either

Even greater news for me. Because I prefer not having a built in screen protector...I'd rather use a brand I've grown accustomed to or feels better to my touch.

Why can't we use the sprint version of the case? What is different about it?

Bummer, only the Aegis case. No Kraken as I guess we already knew. We really need a kickstand case, so the Aegis is no good to us.

White cases

I'm looking for an all white case that covers the bezel on the front. The back could be all white or gray like the Neo hybrid (I think). The only case that seems to be like this, is the sgp ultra capsule, but all reviewers complain of the glitter being gay. Is it really that gay? Is there any other good white cases I don't know about?

Its only as gay as you are uncomfortable with yourself.
For example...If you're really uncomfortable with yourself, then it is really gay.
If you don't give a ****e about glitter (and realize that plenty of DUDE things have glitter), then its not gay at all.

I like it a lot actually. Also have a black diztronic rev3 and in comparison it fits just as well.

Agree on the gay thing by ficklecycler. I have a white Mercury case and not at all conscious about the pearl effect. I even think it gives it a bit of character.

I had a Black case that had glitter in it. I didn't much care for it... but after I swapped out to a cheaper Diztronic Rev 3 case that didn't have the glitter... then it felt like cheaper materials.
The glitter effect wasn't really evident but gave it a little sparkle. Kinda like a good paint job on a car... where dudes rock glitter and colored flakes all the time.
It ain't like your rocking rainbows. It just has a high quality to it.
However I'm using a Ringke Slim, which their white case is solid white. I'm using the Metallic version because it matches the original case of the GN perfectly and thus it appears to not even have a case on it.

OK I think I'm going to get the ultra capsule then. I usually don't care about things being gay but I'm only sixteen I'm buying this with my own money. Its funny I've been saving up for months for the nexus(when it was 700$) the minute I saw it on the play store for 400 I bought it. I have like 40 dollars remaining. When you buy stuff with your own money you really value it lol, that's why I care about the case being gay.
Tl;dr - I'll get the ultra capsule. I only care because I value my phone.

He definitely could have used better diction, but we know he wasn't trying to be offensive or homophobic by using that word. We shouldn't be too overly sensitive. We got the general idea of what he's asking, but yes he should have used better word usage.
Anyways, to the OP, look around eBay and amazon. You'll find plenty of white cases. Try Cruzer Lite. They have an all white case that you're looking for. Good luck.

****** is a more offensive word, by far! Tossing the word gay around is no big deal to many American people. On American culture is usually used to describe something as either being lame or homosexual.
Nothing to get you knickers in a twist over. The episode of south park about the word fag is hilarious!

Completely different. I won't even type the n word; I would put it on a whole other level than "gay". If anyone forgot, gay means happy in the dictionary. It has another meaning. The n word doesn't exactly.

The case has a plastic snap on and a rubber seal something similar to an OtterBox.
I order way before the phone came out, hope you check it out before they prices goes up..

Sorry bro didn't mean to offend you in any way. Was not insulting you or your taste. It was my personal opinion of the case. The back of the case looks very unpleasant and uncomfortable in pocket. I do really appreciate the fact you purchased a product, took pictures of it, and gave your opinion of it for the community. It really does help with accessories selction. I'm going to do the same when I buy a case for mine.

Whoa. That's a hard case to swallow. Although I do have a case on my GS2, I do so reluctantly. A big part of the purchase of any of my phones are the looks. This case looks a bit overbearing for my tastes although I'm sure gives great protection.

yeah.. Is a little big.. Im a CCTV Tech. always on the move, My nexus S 4G just crack with a more stylish case that this time i wanted a more protective option.
The point is that for the $12.00 I paid this copy or whatever brand this is is not a bad option.
Would love the flip stylish one. This is a beauty of phone but avoiding any falls is the least i would want to worry with this haha.

Hard to tell from your video, does it have any lip to lift the screen off of a table if it is set down on the face? I think I can see one, but you mention that it won't protect the phone at all if it is dropped on the screen, which tells me that it doesn't stick out at all.

No it doesn't have any lip to protect the screen, a nice feeling case but not one for protection.

Yes there is. It's not big lip but just enough to raise the phone that the screen doesn't touch the table when placed face down. And I think this provides protection to most vulnerable parts of the phone: corners.

Yes it does. I think it's stupid. And there's no real use for it either: With a coin in it's place, it's not something i'd call very stable, so i rather keep the phone in my hand or have it leaning against something. And the looks could be more like in the s2s version. Other than that, i think it's a great case and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a minimal case that doesn't add to much bulk.
P.S. Just got the official slim case today (yes, the twin pack), so we'll see which one do i prefer...

I should have a replica mesh case soon which doesn't have the coin slot. Think if the quality is good it should be a wicked case.

Lifeproof Case on eBay?

I've seen a bunch of threads regarding that the Lifeproof cases aren't out yet... But on eBay there are a few cases for sale. I'm guessing these are fake but the pictures look pretty legit. Any experience with these? I'm still new so I can't post links but if you type in "S3 Lifeproof" on eBay it should pop up.

I was about to start a thread and remembered there already was one. So since this thread I've noticed a large increase in the number of fake lifeproof's, I'm assuming some company in china got the specs and started making replicas. Looks like the prices are in the $40 to $50 range, so who's going to be the guinea pig and buy one? Part of me wants to try it since the real lifeproof cases cost $80, but another part of me thinks that its stupid to spend $50 on something that could be complete crap. Especially if it ships from china or hong kong, if I don't like it I'd have to pay the shipping all the way back. Plus I'd have to wait 3 weeks just to get it and possibly another 3 weeks to get the refund........
Anybody want to sponsor me? I'll put a big pictorial and detailed review?:laugh:

I'll be ordering one from a US Seller for a slightly higher markup. I can post a video review on Youtube, and here as well. I'll get it some time next week, as I'll probably order it with my birthday money or when my paycheck comes in. And hey, if you want to push $5 towards the cause, I wouldn't be opposed They look exactly like the iPhone version, even down to the packaging and colors available. one seller even mentioned that they aren't LifeProof branded, but had a 1 month return/refund/warrenty. In addition, Paypal and my bank offer a certain amount of time to make sure a product actually works (3 or 6 months, I think). I'm game for giving it a shot!
I imagine that the install would be the same as for an iPhone... and I'd want to check the seals BEFORE installing my phone... that'd be really sad.

Right, that's the whole point of this entire thread. These are FAKE or replicas or whatever you want to call them, that's why this thread got started. That's why they only cost $40 to $50 dollars. That's why some of them are from CHINA. I think I'll probably end up buying one of these once I find a white one that's being sold here in the US. I know they all are probably being made in the same place in Hong Kong or somewhere but I don't see any reason to order something and wait for a month for it to get here.

Being that lifeproof has yet to release the case, what's the alternative? If you need protection a fake case is better than nothing.

I love my water proof otterbox armor series . It's bulky compaired to the lifeproof that doesnt exist yet, but feels like it'll take on anything.

I didn't even know this one existed. I'll have to look into it. I take it you're happy with the case? Is touch sensitivity okay? I had the OBEX for a week and hated it. I like to five and would like to have something I can take on the boat with me that I don't have to worry about getting banned around or splashed. I have no intentions of actually taking it into the water.
