hey guys... my apps like angry birds and so on went missing just after install them for a few days.. does anyone know how to solve this?
Sounds like you have messed up the ext 3 partition.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
download Link2SD from market then make it mount ext3 partition on boot!
its still no use... i dunno why but this rom have this kind of problem even after clean install

Angry birds have no relation with ext partition. They are installed on fat32 and yes, my apps on fat32 don't disappear but do force close after being restored with titanium backup. I have to reinstall them manually.
the problem is that only game app missing.. that also some types of games such as angry birds.. pls help
Can't you just download them again, and then see if the "old" data is added?
Yet again I would say this isn't a 'ROM' problem... I would repartion your sd card
It's somehow a ROM problem. When I switched from IC v45 to ReflexS 2.1.6 - I had the same issue on ReflexS - it happened to my every large app (OpenOffice, Sygic Navigator, Angry Birds).
I re-set all permissions for the .apks in Root Explorer and the issue was gone.

How would you define a 'Rom problem' then?

Good question. I was thinking about that, too. But as I said - I had no promblems on InsertCoinS and RCMixS - just on the ReflexS (and i changed nothing when switched between the ROMs).

hmm... I use cm7 version with 1gb ext 4... never had a single issue I don't think... Neo's work has been my weapon of choice for a year and a half!!
Clean install again usually does the trick, and I personally only restore user apps not system
Don't really know what else would cause that?

Hi guys,
I've flashed many roms many times and this is an issue i've never seen before and I haven't figured out how to fix.
I ran into this issue with CM7, Redemptive Revo 2.2, and Re-Engineered so it doesn't appear to be ROM specific. I also ran into the issue with LauncherPro, Go Launcher and ADW Ex so it doesn't seem to be launcher specific either.
Basically the issue is that after setting up my widgets and rebooting the phone, all the widgets will be gone. LauncherPro will tell me 'Problem loading widget' for every widget while Go Launcher will just not display them.
I've re-installed Revo after a full wipe, installed Go Launcher from the market and I still ran into that issue late list night so I'm really confused as to what could be causing this.
Has anyone ever ran into an issue like that? I'm not sure what more I could do, I did a full wipe (dalvik included), re-installed the launcher from the market (no titanium restore) and still after a reboot all the widgets are gone.
Thank you

I do have an app partition on my SD card but I didn't manually move apps to the SD card. That being said though, I know some roms (CM7 for sure) automatically decide where an app gets installed so maybe some of them did get installed to the SD card.
I did a backup of my important files on my SD card and re-partitionned it. Hopefully that will fix the issue.
Well now I'm completely baffled... I wiped my SDCard, did a full wipe of the phone. Installed rEVOlution 2.2, installed my apps via appbrain, setup my widgets, rebooted, and after the reboot all my widgets are gone again...

Check to make sure Appbrain didn't put those apps back on your sd card (if they were even there to begin with).
Ahh I didn't think about that. I checked and the skin for my audio manager widget was on the SD card as well as my poker game. Maybe the fact that the widget was using a skin on the SD card caused the launcher to have issues loading the widgets.
I rebooted twice and the widgets reloaded fine every time so that might have fixed it.
Yea Widgets can't be on the SD

Sorry to bump an old thread here but, pray tell, would any of you guys know of a solution/workaround for someone who has just the exact same problem, but with widgets which are ALL stored in the onboard memory (along with all the other ~650 apps that I already find essential -and this just because I'm waiting to get my class-10 32Gb microSD tomorrow to transfer them to a sd-ext2 partition, don't want to repeat the same process of moving all those apps one by one again.. And even with all that the DS still has more than 250Mb available with the default partition layout. Gotta love this thing. ^^) ??
Been looking everywhere, but no one seems to have a guaranteed, sure-fire, bulletproof way of getting rid of this annoying bug..
(Or I'm just looking in the wrong places -or handling it like a noob. Could very well be. I've had that DS for barely a month now, but it caused me more than half this time period's nights to be totally sleepless, spending the night away tweaking it just right.. xD And now that I was reaching near perfection, this stupid bug pops out of its box ! )

Hi guys,
I've been using Cyanogenmod 7, and it was going very slow. I decided to completely wipe the phone and SD card and start from scratch with Andromadus Mimicry ROM. It is much faster I find but I still get the random slowdowns.
My biggest problems seem to be with the Facebook app, it slows down the phone incredibly. even when you exit the app, unless you force close it, the whole phone goes to a crawl.
I also find even if I uninstall the facebook app, I get lots of random slowdowns, like random times during the day I'll go to read my SMS and it takes FOREVER to load (go sms app)
any ideas?

Are your partitions ext4? Did you debug and follow the steps in the Mimicry OP?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
4EXT is paid software eh? don't really want to pay for it if I can avoid it, any other way of checking??
Wheres the debug steps?
4ext is a free custom recovery, there is an app similar to rom manager that is a paid app. if you don't want to support the developer for whatever reason your choice, but you can still flash the 4ext recoverey via fastboot or a pc10img
can you get a logcat? if your slowdowns are easily duplicated then plug phone into computer, and run a logcat through adb when you are experiancing this
*facebook apps is terrible* (so is facebook)
study the op of mimcry, search the threads for similar problems.
just an fyi - mimcry is one of the best ics roms for the vision and if you are having strange slowdowns then either a bug needs to be reported or you did something wrong
(didn't fully wipe, still in ext3, etc)
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
thanks man, I tried android market and can only find a paid app called 4ext. I use clockworkmod recovery as thats what cyanogenmod 7 recommended, I have not activley done anything to setup ext4 though as there was nothing in mimcry instructions for this.
i cant easily duplicate the issue as it happens totally at random.
i fully wiped and reset to factory defaults before installing mimcry also

go into tsubus' ilwt cm7 thread, there you will find a link to superwipeg2+ext4, this will wipe all and change format of everything but sd card to ext4
don't check the market for custom recoveries, you go there for apps, look for the 4ext thread in the dev section or just google it

okay thanks for your help! i got 4ext installed and checked info, so my system partition is ext4, data and cache are ext3... sd card is fat32
so I need to wipe and redo it with ext4 for all of them?
all but sd card should be ext4
sd card should be fat32
sdext (if you have it) should be ext4
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
you're great help thanks heaps.
so now I've got 4ext and i ran superwipeg2+ext4, then reinstalled my mimcry rom, just reinstalling all my apps i want now, will see how it goes
checked info and everything is now ext4 apart from sd card which is fat32. hope this makes a good difference!
damnit, no improovement still slow as fawk, just started up endomondo and signed in, now have a black screen and a crashed phone for the last 5 mins... oh wait now it loaded... grr
Please read the FAQ in the Mimicry OP. You need to find the apps causing the slowdowns and either uninstall them or wipe their data if you're restoring app data from Titanium backup.

I am having a very hard time finding which apps are causing this, and none were restored, all were installed totally fresh from market after fresh install of the ROM.
I've read everything in the FAQ and can't seem to find any answer

Install watchdog, or view wakelock use with betterbatterystats. Better yet, use logcat and grab a log of the slowdowns as they happen.

Thanks, I am happy to get a log using logcat, do you have some basic instructions for me to do this? I already have android SDK installed, is it a matter of just running adb logcat and waiting or?

Yep, though I would use Watchdog first to see if it alerts on any high cpu processes.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Sounds good man, just installed watchdog and will see how it goes thanks for your advice
strangely enough watchdog has not found a single problem yet even though my phone keeps slowing down every now and then, seems to be slightly less frequent now after all the apps have settled in I guess? still certainly doing it though
also one other issue I found is a program I use called AirDroid stops working properly through its web interface if the phone locks, which I didnt have this problem on CM7
Mind if i but in, but this problem is discussed and handled well in the AOKP nik3rs rom EliteMod & EliteKernel ICS* (which I highley recommend!)
But Its seems one of the problems that can cause this is bcuz you some people still have there apps backed up from there GB rom with their account and switching to ICS rom will only install the GB forms of the app from the market its highley recommended to backup data from apps in Titanum, and Install all new apps to your account and then restore data from Titanium.
Also I have alsot noticed that in 4ext sometimes Superwipe isn't always the answer Try Using the "Format All (except SDCARD)" option in 4ext it seems to clear away alot more bugs then superwipe! hope that helps..
Also try elitemods dataswap and sdext patch if you stay on mimicry!
Thanks man might have to give that ROM a try. And once again I fully wiped and loaded the ROM and I installed each application freshly from the google play store. nothing was backed up or restored so thats not the problem

Maybe I should have been more clear in my last post, Are you using SD-EXT? or data swap? and The way I have to flash is sometimes is after dalvike/cache ofcourse
1- Factory/data reset
2.-Then apply the zip superwipe (let it reboot)
3.-Then apply the FORMAT ALL EXCEPT SDCARD option in 4ext
....and just to note you are mounting everything before you wipe right?
Hope this can help.
And if not I would again highly recommend the EliteMod Rom its the best!!
Hello!
In last few months I've installed many roms on my wfs. When I install the rom everything is okay. No lags, everything works great. But then in few days rom starts lagging, some of the apps crashes and that is annoying! Got that lags even on stock rom!!
What is the reason of that lags? Can it be fixed somehow?

do u wipe data on ur phone as well as cache??
u shud atleast wipe cache in a week so as to free space.
lagging is caused due to various app activity in background. so free up ur ram and unnecessary apps.
make use of adrenaline engine,v6 supercharger and all stuff.
theres also an app calld pimp my rom.
Do check if its available fo ur device

I have tryed some Sense 2.1 and 3.5 roms, cm9, cm10, cm10.1 mod, paranoid android, roboto mod, speed droid, jelly king, I don't remember any more. Stock kernel
whether you install those mods everytime you install a rom ??? (those on your signature adreno200, link2sd, beats...)
or is this lag persist even you flashed rom only without mods.. ??
Actually it happens with everyone. The problem is apps start to collect the data and the memory gets full bit by bit.
Also you may not realise manu apps automatically run in background. Try some of these tricks which i use to keep the phone healthy.
-Download sd booster and set cache to 1024
-Download ram manager and set the profile to balance and lock launcher in memory
-Integrate the apps you use a lot like whats app into system so as they are a bit faster to run. Remember just crucial coz system has its limit too.
-Download rom manager pro coz it has a great startup manager and jut untick the profiles. Remember only untick those which you don't want to run.
-Keep clearing cache every week.
-Disable all stupid apps from startup.
-Find a good frequency and governer for your phone.
-Uninstall crap apps and stupid system files.
I hope that'd help.

Hi guys,
i came back to Gingerbread from over a year experienced on ICS, why?
Is impossible to play, that's all.
I've tried this rom "xElite Gamer" as many of you suggest, but i've another kind of problem.. some apps cannot be installed!
Not all of them (that's very strange) but only some of them.
Play Store tells me that there's not enought space free to install apps like Facebook or the SwiftKey keyboard but allows me to install apps like ADW.Launcher.
If i try a Titanium Backup restore it restores successfully the SwiftKey but not Facebook.
I've tried by installing them from the APK but unsuccessfully, gave me error on the package.
So.. what's happening?
That's the ROM discussion thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366002
I'm using the last one with his own Kernel
I've tried by reinstalling the rom, deleting everything, using a full wipe many and many times, nothing changes.

I had this problem some time ago. It's something with partition (i guess) and you are not allowed to install bigger apps than certain size. I had fix from Google Play but sadly i forgot the name of that app. I'll do some research and try find that app.

Sorry for the missunderstanding
The important thing is that we understand what created the bug and how to fix it, i thing that it was created by a small cache partition (only 2mb) of that kernel instead of the internal memory full size of the lupus cache partition that work as a folder.
On other hand, just to talk, i notice a lot of cpu governor on the lupus that the ExtremeKerned doesn't have, so seems to me that Lupus is still the best choice even in that case.
Thank you all guys for the help provided me :cyclops:

So I think that the problem is in one of the apps i installed, how can i find which one?
I don't want to delete all apps i installed, just that one that's forcing my phone to reboot.
If anyone can help, please reply.
I uploaded logs, both (catlog and alogcat)
If someone can understand from logs what is causing my phone to keep rebooting constantly, please reply.

I'm using ics hyper gamer with lupus ics v7 720p kernel
i tried to uninstall all of apps i installed earlier, but still the same rebooting...
Maybe some of the apps cache took some place on the phone and that is causing phone to reboot
tomorow i'll try to clean install new rom and see what will happen
I did it, i made clean install of new rom and installed all of my apps again, entered in every app i installed(reason for this is that apps can make its cache) and than i rebooted phone, reboot was ok and there is no constantly rebooting anymore, i can turn on bluetooth now without problems, i'll keep using it to see will it be ok in future 2-3 days.
Even if it's all ok on new rom, you could post in few days or a week, is it rebooting or not.. Just for future reference, if someone else is having problem with same rom and apps...
Of course i'll reply when i test it 2-3-4 days.
