Anyone found out what kernel works best with it for battery life. The kernel it comes with isn't that great on battery life. Sorry if this was already posted.

Unfortunately, there are no definitives, and if you aren't getting good battery life with the stock kernel with warm2.2, you might want to start looking at some battery tweaks.
There is a thread over in the Evo 4g General forum, the title is "2.2 ultimate kernel review :: Updated 11/6/10" and the OP is skydeaner. His site also has one of the battery "fixes" if its not holding a charge correctly.
Unfortunately, I can't link to it, since I'm still a newbie poster, but, some of the higher rated ones are Kings #11, and the new Net 4.2 kernels.

Im having good luck so far with Nets 4.2.1 CFS more aggressive smartass universal.
There were a lot of people complaining about the awake time of the 4.2 build, so Net tried to tweak the 4.2.1 to have the great sleep time of 42 with the great awake time of 4.1.9
I havent had the phone awake alot today but with light use I have gone from 100% at 8 am to..... 75% at 10:30pm This was no browsing or games, just phone for about 5-10 minutes and maybe 5 minutes of texting only 1.25 hrs awake time total so far.... so very light use today. But ive NEVER had the phone stay 75-80% inot the evening.
I REALLY hope the awake performance is as good as the sleep performance. We'll see how it does tomorrow under some stress.

Just for a baseline, I just put my phone back to root to take it back, I've lost 50% over about 26 hours of moderate texting and usage with just JuiceDefender running.
I have Kings #11 and my battery blows. I drain 25% in less than an hour with moderate use. This is off topic but when you enable your 4G does it automatically turn off on you. I think my 4G is broken and just want to know. I may need to reflash it.
im runnin it with stock kernal and i have no complaints. I just took a screenshot showing like 43% left off charger for 14 hours and talk time was like 1hour and 23 mins. Plus iv used it to play mabey half hour of games and half dozen text. Il see if i can get the ss posted.

What rom are you using?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
To all the heavy users out there: I'm interested in hearing about the battery life of your phones under heavy use. I figured that the Display On time in Settings>AboutPhone>Battery>BatteryUse seemed like a good measure - the amount of time the phone display is on before battery runs out. Also, I usually have wifi/3G on almost all the time. To make a start here's mine (mostly browsing):
ROM: 2.29.405.2 WWE
Time: 4 - 4.5 hours
I'm quite happy with the results, though I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on this. Thanks.
i got about 4 and a half hours of screen time over the course of 2.5 days... tons of texting.
Great, which ROM are you using? My 4.5 hours was over the course of a day. I might consider flashing a custom ROM as soon as I can get my hands on a class 6 micro SD. The battery gives about 5 hours of on time for games, watching movies and other non data stuff, which is pretty decent I think.
Same here... 4,5 h is a good value. If I dim the screen for at-home-use (6% brightness via quicksettings) I might get 5 hours.. a lot of network/wifi usage or gaming of course decreases the lifetime...
BTW: I'm on LeeDroid 2.2f
i am using defrost on the 6.0i HAVS 1113mhz kernel BFS.
probably best rom around. really fast, and i can use 20% brightness and get 2 days worth no problem. hope this helps!

Yeah but this Thread asks for the actual running-/screen-on-times as stated in your battery statistics Anyways two days is quite good even with moderate usage...

Depends critically on your settings/activity/screen brightness/screen picture...

Hi, just wondering if someone can tell me which ROM is best for battery life. I'm currently using blendkernel, is there any particular combination of kernel/ROM/baseband etc, not fussed about overclocking, just purely want it to last!!
Thanks
From my personal experience, the stock rom is the best for battery life, though I've switched to using arconium since it's just a tweaked version of the stock rom.
There's a few out there (that are just a tweaked version of the stock rom), so take a look in the development section and find one you like.
Using the stock kernel sometimes makes a difference as well (it did for me) so you might want to try that as well.
For me, using blendkernel, the ROM that optimizes battery and is 100% operational, is 【ROM】【LT15I/18I】Xperia_AniKing_v1.0.0_Ice Cream
for me till now i used only one room it's MIUI and till now it's fine
Ok, thanks for that, I'm going to give the Aniking ROM a go and see what happens...

Can the blendkernel (original for MIUI) be used for any other ROM? Like stock ROMs or even CM7?
I always thought that blendkernel can be only used for MIUI based ROMs....
I'm using the kernel from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278760
Seems to work fine with most ROMs and I've found the battery to be much better than using Doomkernel...
Hi,
Just a few days ago I've installed the Miui rom on my lt15i as posted on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528924 with the 2.6.32.9-BlendMIUI kernel by Jason Stein. However in these few days my phone has to be charged every night after being unplugged for about 20 hours.
Today in 16.5 hours my battery has dropped from 100% to 15%. Most of the time the phone is in sleep mode and I've measured that the battery drained about 3-4% per hour while in sleep mode. The phone synch with 2 google accounts in the background and the screen brightness is set to 25%.
For the rest I've made a few short phone calls (about 10 minutes of total talk time), browse the internet for like 15 minutes on the internet forums and played about 10 minutes of Coindozer.
Is this kind of battery life normal when running the MIUI rom on the BlendMIUI Kernel? In "Battery use" in "Battery settings" I got these stats:
Cell standby: 42%
Voice calls: 21%
Phone idle: 10
Display: 9%
Wlan: 5 %
Opera Mobile: 4%
Android OS: 4%
The rest are just about 1-2%
Seems like I'm better off with the stock rom as most of the time I can get about 30 hours using the phone before having to put it on charger. Now I can only get about 20 hours
Anyway I would be happy if anyone can give me advise how to get more battery life out of my phone while using the Miui Rom, cause it's working quite neat in my opinion and looks very polished.
Regards,
Albert

You can try to undervolt cpu supply if your kernel supports this feature.
Also try to flash baseband libs (only for -36 and -64).
I prefer the stock based roms.. I personally like the XperiaMod but I have been using Arconium 8.0 from last 4 days and its battery drain is just awesome!
If u wanna have an ICS one, simply flash the KA 10 Ice Cream Sony.. Simply the most stable and best ICS rom till date!!
Hit Thanks if I helped u..
I recommend Arconium 8.0. It is basically the rom your phone came with, but it's a tweaked version of it.
I also found Miui battery friendly. I've been using DiMiui for a couple of weeks now, and I can't complain.

Well, I just got hinted that it is possible my battery needs to be recalibrated. Last time I flashed my rom, my battery was not fully charged. I've looked up on internet and indeed some articles states that everytime you flash your rom your battery have to be fully charged to avoid this kind of trouble. I'll try recalibarting my battery.

Hello everyone I'm new in Android as I have just purchased One X 5 day ago.
Right now i'm using latest custom rom (ARHD 6.0.0) including ROM cleaner to clean up bloatware. But I noticed that the battery life drains quite fast unexpectedly.
Here's my regular usages starting today 8am-8pm:
-I on 2G network only.
-replied 5 sms.
-received/making calls for total 3 mins (4 times)
-listening to music with beats audio on 80% volume for 2 hrs.
-do some casual fb/internet surfing with wifi on (20mins total), wifi is off when not used.
From 8am-8pm, battery drain from 100% to 65%. Is that normal ?
Advice is greatly needed.
*1 more thing, I installed the corecontrol app to have 2 cores enabled. Could that be the reason why battery is draining fast as it is using 2 main cores and overwrite the "hidden" energy efficient fifth core of tegra 3 which is used to perform simple tasks ?
You should really look into the ARHD forum and please use the Search button.
There are a lot of threads related to batteries where I am sure you will find your answer.
35% drain in 12 hours with that usage is good.
Thanks.

OMFG ?!?!?! even using custom rom ???
What kind of battery life are people seeing on their t989s? Screenshots would be great and also which rom/kernel are you using?
I'm personally using Jedi Mind tricks v4 because I find it the most stable and no issues and I get awesome battery life. I current have 23 hours counting with 56% battery left.
I am broke so I cant afford my phone bill, shucks. But this rom is still awesome and i have been on wifi through out the day.
Wifi saves battery life when connected. What really matters is screen on time or talk time. Average most people get is a bit over 3 hours i think. i got better battery life on gb than ics.

I actually use my phone, so I get about 13-16 hours. That's with about 3 hours screen time, and 30 minutes worth of calls. Have all social networks and email syncing all day long, and never turn off data. Running cm 9.1

It depends of what you are doing with it. Take a look at

you will find all kind of usage scenarios with current consumption, so you can calculate yours.

Now I am in JMT v9, battery life is good but not as best as previous versions.
I'm on 16h 40min with 44% left right now. 2h 12min screen on time..
I'll usually last a whole day. Anywhere from 10-18 hrs of use depending on how much signal I get and if I'm on WiFi
I have ran MULTIPLE ROMs on my T989 and have had various results:
(This is all moderate use email/texting/calls/web surfing/music/video browsing)
CM10 Alpha- 3 hours
AOKP JellyBean Build 1- 2 Hours
Jedi Mind Trick v6- 5 Hours
Stock UVLH1 4.0.4- 5.5 Hours
Darkside Digital Warfare- 8 Hours
SpaceROM v2.5- 3 Hours
Infamous v3.1- 6 Hours
CM9- 6 Hours
As far as kernels go i get the best battery life with Synergy Kernel!!! Its only for Gingerbread but it is really good!!
I got 9hrs with 5hrs screen time, and still had 17% left. I was on 4G all the time, syncing 2 gmail account.

Moderate use ( Texting, Data/WIFI use, Calling, etc.)
Stock ICS - 10 Hours
CM9 Stable - 14 Hours
AOKP 6 - 15 Hours
Thats screen off and on throughout the day, roughly 5 hours of screen time
