I just replaced my LCD and digitizer on my Evo 4g, but I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the parts . My question is, where does the adhesive tape go? in other words, is it between the back of the mother board and the LCD, or somewhere between the LCD and digitizer, or where????
If it goes between the lcd and digitizer, wont the tape show?
Please help!! TIA
Any Help? Any One???
lol it dose goe in between the digi and the lcd trick is to get it to the outer edges of the screen and the tape wont show plus it should only be a thin piece not the whole thin it should look like the outer edge of the lcd place it on the outer edge then place the digi over it and you should be good !
so i was debating on getting a case or not so i decided to see how much a replacement digitizer was because with my evo lte i could get one for $16 so i decided screw a case and ill just replace when needed. but when i looked it up for this phone it looks like you can only buy a digitizer with a lcd and its like $240-$320. so is it even possible to get a digitzer by itself? and if so how hard would it be to replace?
Find a for parts galaxy s3 on ebay.. Would likely be cheaper. But idk exact price or the item your talking about.. Blanking out on what you mean by digitizer
The digitizer is the front glass that detects when and where in the screen your touching. In short, the glass you touch whenever you use your phone. And the lcd is the panel that makes all the colors that you see (this is the stupidly expensive part of the screen)

Tuscani1821 sells the full lcd/digitizer for around $130 for the s3. Replacing just the digitizer is next to impossible. Even Samsung doesn't replace them they swap the entire assembly. You can replace the glass lens with alot of patience and about 2hours of repeatedly heating the glass while carefully separating the adhesive from the digitizer. The digitizer itself is fused to the LCD and the glass is fused to the digitizer. Removing the digitizer from the LCD will, without a doubt, destroy the LCD. Removing the glass lens if not done properly will destory the digitizer. If the touch works and lcd works the digitizer isn't damaged just the glass lens is. If the digitizer even has one crack the LCD goes out with it.

I like to break stuff!
my htc has some scratches and i want to replace full housing(front glass and back cover) I was watching some videos on yourube and looks so hard to replace it? What is your experience with replacing? is it really hard, and is front glass glue sticked to hardware ? if yes how can I stick new glass back to hardware. thanks
Well it's not that hard. But seperating the digitizer from the screen itself is nearly impossible without proper tools or damaging the display.
If you buy a screen assembly and a new back housing, do have the tools and good new adhesive strips, it's totally managable.
I'm trying to replace the outside glass on an HTC EVO 4G and have a couple questions.
I was able to remove the digitizer, however, I broke the old bezel. I ordered another bezel along with a rear cover and mid-section.
The new part where the LCD and the digitizer attach had two adhesive strips on it. I removed the backing from the adhesive strips and lightly attached the old LCD. After I had put it in place I noticed that the new part where the LCD attaches had a shiny piece of mylar/plastic between the new part and the LCD screen and the old one had a dark grey/black piece. I removed the LCD screen from the new part and but the old grey/black piece of mylar/plastic between the LCD screen and the new part.
However, after I did this I questioned what I had done. By putting the pieced of plastic sheeting between the new part and the existing LCD I would only be attaching this piece of plastic to the new part. The back of the LCD itself would not be attached to anything.
What is the purpose of this plastic sheet and am I supposed to attach it to the adhesive tape and is there any functional diffence betwen the silver one and the black one?
Hi,
I dropped my HTC 10 and smashed the glass top layer. The digitiser and lcd screen are still perfect.
I want to try replace the glass myself but I am wondering if I can buy just the glass, the glass and digitiser, or if I have to buy the glass, digitiser and lcd screen in one enclosure.
I looked on ebay and found a screen and digitiser enclosure and messaged the seller asking if it included the glass. He said no.
Can someone point me in the direction of the part(s) I need, please? Whether it's the glass and digitiser, or the full enclosure.
Thanks.
