Few desire problems - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,I managed to root my desire and now I just need to flash rom. But I cant get into recovery menu.I tryed with rom manager, tryed with power+ volume up. Both end up same : phone starts vibrating and just shows htc logo in white screen. Can any1 help me with this problem? Also, I downloaded Cpu tuner in hopes that my phone would stop rerstarting. But that dont seem to work...max - 998, min - 245. Maybe I should make max lower ? It restarts in apps. 10 min. max of any app/game and restart. While I watch movie it happens only 1 time in middle. Also when I'am charging it,it can restart even while I'm scrolling in menu.

Put the phone in refrigerator for only 5 minutes and then start the recovery. If it still restarts then flash your desired ROM while keeping the phone into refrigerator.

Well that sounds crazy but logical

Yeah its sound crazy but this is the solution right now for boot loop problem caused by increased temperature of mainboard.
Before executing the refrigerator trick, ensure that you don't have any software problem by factory resetting.

I've heard that and seems crazy but some say it works.

Recovery menu is second on the list. Use Vol +/- for up/down and Pwr button to select.

Yes,I know. But when I select recovery my phone just starts vibrating and shows just htc logo. I read somewhere that then you need to press power+vol up. Anyway that dont work for me Anyway. I have few q about radio. I want to install LeeDrOiD v2.5 and it needs some radio. I downloaded Radio 32.56.00.32U so I wanna ask how to install it and will I be able to use my phone for calling and texting? I mean maybe it changes something?

first hit volume down and then power button if u do vice versa phone will restart. simple

Ok fridge thing helped,I think I flashed DevNull rom, but now when I turn on phone it goes into white htc logo screen and after that black android screen. (words android flashing) is that ok? Should I keep him like that?

K,DevNull works. But not how I expected it to. Phone still restarts when I use almost any app or game. Maybe some1 have any idea why?

what about your recovery? it solved? the restart problem might be caused by over heating the mainboard.. Max of 998mhz is the normal clock of the snapdragon cpu and must not make any problem... if force close problems do Fix Permissions by recovery (if recovery is present, if not reply so I'll guide you through flashing of recovery process..)
Good Luck

Welcome to reboot problem. You are not alone having this problem, I am with you as well. Mainboard is the problem that's why I asked you to put your phone into refrigerator. If you have warranty then get it replaced.

Galaxy S3 Won't Power On

Hi , I'm having problems with my Galaxy T999. I have rooted and have not yet installed any kernels/roms. The only thing i did was installed a couple apps from the play store . and wanted to check out the CWM recovery menu and was going to try to installed "hyperX camera mod". First thing i did was shut off the phone . Then pressed on the Volume up+Home+Power button . After doing that my phone didn't turn on or anything , no vibration or anything . I hooked it on with my computer and press the power button and it was able to connect and then disconnected. I am at lost now and can't seem to find any answer . Have looked every where not sure what to do now. Any solution will be much appreciated .
***
It seems to disconnect due to no driver found for QHUSUB_DLOAD .
Without any solutions I'll probably gonna get my phone replace . T_T
Does your phone disconnect immediately, or does it stay connected for a brief amount of time? If it stays connected briefly, try using adb during this period to boot into recovery. The command is "adb reboot recovery" (without the quotes).

Try to remove your battery then plug in charger. See if you can turn on. If you can turn it on, leave it 30 minutes. Then put in the battery.
By the looks of the result the computer gives you when you plug it in, seems it is hard bricked! Are you sure you didn't flash anything from the I9300 section like a rom?

The hyper x camera mod isnt entirely for our phone. I've read that it's flashable to our phone though, so I'm not sure what's going on here. Maybe the OP needs to link where he got the mod. Ih and stay away from the intl version all together.

Yup its a paperweight. The Intl version has the system partition in a different place. So you borked an important one.
Only thing that's throwing me off is that the OP suggests he didn't actually get around to flashing the mod.

SGS3 T999v wont start up.
My sgs3 t999v would turn off by itself every other time I hit the lock button.
like I would be txting and then if I hit the lock button it would turn off.
So I though a factory reset would fix the problem. (volume up + home).
after the reset it still kept turning off randomly.
and now I cant even get it to the normal interface. or get in to the manual reset mode.
Device was previously jail broken, however was returned back to stock and was working fine for 3 months.
I had my otterbox on for every fall my phone had, so I dont think it would be a hardware issue.
the phone was running 4.1.1 I believe.
stock rom.
help please! :C

Can you get download mode? (Volume down, HOME and power)
Even though you have a case on it, it sounds like it was probably damaged by one of the falls. Most cases as far as I'm aware mostly protect the display. The shock from impact can still damage internal components, even with a case built with this in mind.

Hey thanks for replying!
I drained the battery and got a new charge in it and managed to get it booted up
however now the problem of the lock button is still here.
like if i use it to lock my screen it just turns off on me, and it takes multiple times for me to get the phone up and running again.
you could see if you could find a widget or widgets that will basically put a button on your screen that can power off, enable lock screen, reboot recovery/download, etc.
Then just use the HOME button to turn the screen back on.
It sounds to me like a hardware problem, but if you can flash another Rom and do a full wipe/factory reset you'll know for sure.
I hope this helps. Not sure what else you can do besides getting it repaired or replaced unfortunately.
Maybe someone else will have a better idea though.

So, lets cut to the chase here.
Was playing around with my CM10.1 powered Galaxy W when it shutsdown by itself when its on sleep mode.
I tried switching it back on and it just shows the "Samsung" brand name in verry short seconds and then repeats from the start. How to fix this manually? Am i suppose to go for SSC???

If you didn't install any custom kernel/mod/system tweak, then from CWM recovery, you could try the "wipe data/ factory reset" option. See if it helps in any way. Although...from what you're saying...looks like you've got some custom stuff in there. For this case, I'm afraid your only way out is by making a pristine install of that ROM.

Well, both sound like ROM issues to me now. But apparently at least one of them (the reboot issue) should be fixed. So head over to the dev thread. Looks like there is some new stuff in there. Also if the auto-turn-on thing when inserting the battery is not fixed too, you might as well report this in that thread.

Uhm, actually, the auto-turn-on issue & reboot issue thing happens when i insert the battery as well. Also, i can assure you that this ain't ROM issue. Previously, when i used OneOfAKind ROM, i switched SIM cards and then the auto-turn-on issue & reboot issue happened from there. I left my phone and battery apart for a day and then tried putting it backand BOOM it came back to life. So from there, hoping tht THANG won't happen again in my whole life, i pristined installed MonsterV15 and all went well when the THANG happened once more and i ended up heree .___.

Standard battery? Could you try with another (maybe stock) battery. Also...does it happen with any CM version?
This ain't software related....it's hardware related.....guaranteed.
It's a faulty power button.
The power button is behaving as if it were being continuously held in.
If you continually hold the power button on a normally booting W I bet you could replicate these exact symptoms. The results would be the same on insertion of the battery too.....
I answered an identical question a few weeks ago in this forum....and having done some research on the issue, I can tell you the only way you're going to fix it is take it to a service centre where they'll replace the entire main board......the power button is soldered directly to it.....
I'm guessing you can't successfully enter download mode either? So flashing back to stock beforehand isn't an option either....that shouldn't be a problem though.....if you can't get the phone to boot, they won't be able to either.....so they won't be able to tell what OS you're running. Even if they can, there's NO WAY they can argue that running a cusROM caused the power button to fail. Don't forget that the warrantee on Samsung phones is 2 years........

yea... I totally agree with keithross39. it's hardware related... Me and @hurtsky have this problem before too~ what i did is, insert the battery (and it will power on automatically). then spam the power button while it's booting... and it successfully booted (because the power button is not 'holding' anymore), you will see the reboot dialog pop out or screen turning on and off automatically. If you are lucky (like me) i fixed it myself by spamming the power button add don't press the power button anymore.... For now, I use the notificationbar's widget as screenoff, use terminal emulator to reboot or reboot recovery. I know that's weird, But I don't want to send it samsung because my phone is not original, it's AP

Desire HD keeps restarting

Hi guys, i have a big problem on my htc desire hd. Its rooted, S off etc. Cca. two weeks ago htc starts restarting. I thought its a battery problem, couse i tested it 1 months ago and it has only 200mah. So i bought new battery, but its the same. When i charging the device, it does not restart never. When stop charging... restarts. When i using the device (browsing web, texting, etc) its fine, it doesnt restart. When stop using... restarts. These restarts keeps repeating every couple of seconds. Then i hard reset my phone, doesnt work. Then flash with CM 10.1, manually install kernel, but is the same. I dont know what more can i do. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks and sorry for bad english
News When phone goes to sleep mode (black screen), it shuts down. I cannot wake it up, if i press power button, it just booting again.
In recovery it does not restart.
just installing another custom rom (try SVHD v2.1.0) from recovery..don't forget to full wipe/factory reset except the sd card..before installing any custom rom..
hope this help..
I already installed 3 new roms, but there is no difference. Now just shuts down when idle. If i use the device, is ok. If i press power button (sleep), i cannot wake it up anymore. ALWAYS:crying:
Is this behavior also happen on the stock rom or arhd rom? Try flashing them and see whther the same problem occurs

What happens when you get into download or recovery mode? Does it do the same? Sounds like you may have a stuck power button

i can get to recovery mode and all, i tried wipe cache on
recovery mode and still nothing.
yes, i think its on power button, but after i searched how to fix it
most people will just slam their power button to a hard surface
to fix it.
Do you use a protective case?
Sounds like a physical thing on the power button...

No I mean if it reboots as well after 10-25 minutes in recovery or download mode like it does when booted normally. That would confirm that its likely a power button issue

Are you using GT-I9500? If so this is the wrong forum.. But what I would do is backup all my personal files, important messages etc. flash stock firmware with Odin, reboot to recovery and factory reset. That fixes many problems, but I don't know somehow I keep thinking something is up with that power button.. Or you could try what you said earlier and smash your power button lol

I would prefer it be Samsung if your device is still under warranty, if not then a local shop may be more convenient
