Does SPB shell work well on our epics? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wanted to ask before I shelled out 15 bucks.
I'm rooted butnot overclocked bc I'm running annonomous i3 ad its gingerbread.
I've heard it won't work with evos now that they are on GB.wondering the same for anyone running gb on their epic
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

If I where u I.wouldn't spend that kind of money on app.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App

Yeah it works but it needs more flexability. For 15 bucks you would think it would be totally themable and have more customization options...wasn't worth the 15 bucks. It may be if they make some improvements
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App

Thanks for the reply. Are u on froyo or gingerbread?
Also anyone else that wants to chime in and let me know how it works on their phone and what rom ur running
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

It's not customizable enough for $15. Better for less $$$ imo.

I got it, and I use it every day. I do wish that there was more to it, but I like the look as it is better than anything else. Used zeam, go launcher pro (paid) adw (paid) and a couple others I'm can't remember at the moment.

I am bouncing between Froyo and Gingerbread. Like I said before should be more customizable but it works well. Was it worth $15? Not really. I still use Zeam as my daily. Its good to show off your screen but I don't use it all of the time. Urban Fury 2.0 with Genocide 1.1 Final for Froyo and Urban Inception and I3 for Gingerbread are what I am running.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App

$15 for an app like that really isn't worth it imo. Its nice...but not $15 worth of "nice." The only way I would ever pay that much is if the Dev worked his butt off on much needed improvements and customizations with a lot of frequent updates as well, which all that would be just wishful thinking on my part as I doubt it will happen.
Bottom line: Don't buy it, isn't worth it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App

Supernova 3.1a, Genocide 1.1 and SPB 3D make my phone almost perfect. It's worth it.

[Dev][Req] Motoblur time? Maybe.

Yeah. I'm back with another "Mission Impossible". I have an Android 1.6 MotoBlur rom that long back was ported to the HTC Magic. Link here >>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569329<<<<<<
Now obviously you can see my goal. Get it working here, OR maybe even just parts of it. My original goal was just the MotoBlur launcher, but this seems to be the closest thing I can find possible. My current problem seems to be the framework, but I may be wrong. Anyone wish to help?
this is ancient but i might be able to help. you port from dsixda's kitchen yet?
Dear god, why would you want to poison this lovely device with Motorola's abomination?
I'm sure there are many Backflip/Flipout/Flipside/Bravo owners that would trade you and put cash on top to not own a device with Motoblur.
Well I plan on getting a Motorola atrix or HTC inspire. So I'd like to get a feel for motoblur. And I tried dsixda but I only tried with a 2.2 rom. This is 1.6.

When I try to boot it in anyway it doesn't even get to the point that I can logcat it. I'm guessing we need a proper kernel.

+ 1 for the atrix... I just upgraded to a atrix from my little aria and I gotta say its got some balls.. They just did a stock release of gingerbread and they unlocked the bootloader so it'll be running cm7 in a month or less.
Between the dual core processor, the extra 512mb of memory and the oc kernel you can get not to mention the webtop doc and laptop shell that you can run a full blown copy of debian or gentoo on.. I think the sgs2 might be lagging behind a little (not to say that its laggy, just the atrix is pretty awesome.. although i might be a little bias ). I still miss my aria's size but the atrix is a beast!

TSF launcher

I just wanted to say if your looking for a launcher that is simply amazing and cutting edge, I suggest The TSF launcher!! They aren't paying me or anything like that, but i haven't seen much talk about it. It is off the chain awesome!!!!!
It looks amazing! I just don't see myself spending almost 17 bucks for a launcher.

1) I'm sure I'd get tired of it super fast, I always return to stock and SIMPLE when I try launchers
2) No way that doesn't increase battery usage significantly
Tried it too...same thing.. it's cool to show off but practical / every day use, nothing beats simple stock, be it tw or ics stock

I have it and love it. You really have to watch the videos to really see what this launcher can do, otherwise it wont do much with limited knowledge (no offense to anyone). This does so much more than any other launcher out there. I cringed at the price, but after learning everything that the launcher can do, I ditched my other custom launchers for this one.
I took the time to watch the whole video. Seems like stome amazing developing. But just can't seem to grasp paying that huge price.

Seeder App worth it?

Everything is supposed to load much faster. It's getting rave reviews in the playstore. Is it really that noticeable or placebo effect?

At first I noticed no difference but I ran a few test like turning animations off and running apps with and without seeder then did the same with animations on and I do notice a slight speed up when opening apps. Not a huge difference because like someone said this phone is already a speed demon, but there is a slight increase, but then again could be placebo lol.

I posted this on another topic as well that was discussing the seeder app. This is straight from a CM Dev on G+.
" The entropy pool stuff is bull****. The only users of /dev/random are libcrypto (used for cryptographic operations like SSL connections, ssh key generation, and so on), wpa_supplicant/hostapd (to generate WEP/WPA keys while in AP mode), and the libraries that generate random partition IDs when you do an ext2/3/4 format. None of those 3 users are in the path of app execution, so feeding random from urandom does nothing except make random... well... less random"
A lot of tech talk but he goes on "The only reason devices feel faster is because by constantly polling the PRNG, it keeps the device's I/O in constant use (which in turn, depending on device, will make the CPU stick to higher clock frequencies to keep up)"[/QUOTE]

How is this useful? To anyone wondering if it will work or is curious: install the free apk on xda. Try it out. If it helps: great keep using it. If you want, buy the play store version to support the dev. If it doesn't work, good you didn't waste your money now you can go spend your buck and some change on a pack of gum or a soda.

I'm sure most people here understand that concept. Were just discussing. And I think it's pretty useful to hear an experienced devs opinion on an app for our phones I'm sure he understands what goes in with our phones better than we do

Next Launcher sale......?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gtp.nextlauncher
Debating if i should pick it up for $10 (original is 15.99) still pretty steep for an app, let alone a launcher. Not sure if its all smoke and mirrors, or is it truly "next gen". I use nova prime, and its great. Anyone have any experience with it? Is it demanding of the system?

Never cared for go launcher, it's always been a system resource hog, not to mention glitchy. That being said a 10 dollar launcher is just plain crazy. I run nova pro, and picked it up for 99 cents, and couldn't be happier, it's fast efficient and packed with useful features.

Have you ever tried it long enough to become familiar with it? I'm definitely not asking you that to attack you over your opinion or anything (because you're definitely entitled to your own opinion), I was just wondering because I effin love Next Launcher. I don't just like it because it looks really cool though (it's just an awesome bonus lol) because I could care less about showing off my phone, I actually like it because of all the added functionality it provides on top of giving you the ability to fine tune everything the way you like, and call me crazy but I honestly think it's even worth it for the original price.
