Incoming calls does not show picture anymore!!
I have an EVO 3D, but I have a friend that has the EVO 4G phone and when he use to get his incoming calls he use to get the pictures of the caller showing, they do not anymore, I have checked all his settings, but I do not see anything that would be affecting that. He cannot post as he is clueless to posting in forums, so I figured I would post to see if anyone had a solution, or has heard of this issue before, please advise.
FYI: when I check his people contacts the pictures are there on the contacts. And I also did the latest OTA update for him
Bump, anyone before I end up having to do a FR for him
FWIW A factory reset resolved his issues.
Good to know. I apologize that you didn't get any response.
At least we can file this under problem solved.

Please don't flame me if this has already been asked a million times, but I've searched and browsed the forums unsuccessfully for an answer to my problem with no success...
I'm having a problem with the caller ID in my PDA2K. When I recieve phone calls, very often the person's name doesn't appear with the number even though they are in my Contacts. It happens at random, it seems, but its been happening very often lately. Is there an update I should install or something to fix this? I have never updated anything except with the ROM file that I-Mate provides on it's site (which hasn't changed in ages) and the One-Way call bug fix.
Also, while I'm asking... when I set unique ringtones in photo contacts they tend to work at random as well. Is there any known fix for that too?
Thanks in advance.

My Problem is, that I recieve only some of my SMS/text that was sent to my. So I heard from friends that they sent me a text message, but I didn't get it. There is no pattern on this problem. I have a conversation with 4 sms sent to me, but i only recieve 1,2,4. Message Nr. 3 is missing. Sometimes its also the first message thats lost.
All my friend got the status for sms/text activated and they get the status "delivered" for the lost messages.
Someone else that problem?
I only have seen the problem about sending, but none with getting.
yeah the same happened to me recently, but only with my GF number (same operator), not other contacts (AFAIK: since no one complained, no sms got missed!). still no diagnosis, and no solution obviously. hope that won't lead to a hard reset, which is a major pain
I had an issue that my sim card was full - it seemed the phone was trying to save sms to the sim. I deleted a few and now all seems okay. However they can't be going to the sim any more as I have received more than I deleted.
This happened after I had been using a spare phone as I went camping and needed a phone that had a few days battery life instead of the day or so that my touch pro 2 has
thanks for your help smudge.
it's not my case since my sim card is blank, no sms or contacts in it.
however, yesterday evening I hard resetted the phone, now I'm waiting to test if the problem is still here. If it is, it must be the operator's fault, or something related to my GF device / SIM. I'll let you know if I discover something new...
I have similar problem - I'm supposed to receive SMS, but I don't. I didnt have this problem (I didnt notice it) before I installed latest version of S2U2, maybe there's some problem with it? I have S2U2 set to show incoming SMS/MMS messages...
Also I have enabled hack mentioned in this forum which powers on mobile on receiving message (so it is displayed on the screen, not only notified by blinking LED and sound as is default setting). Maybe there is some incompatibility with S2U2, Im trying to pipoint this.
ChAr
uhm...missing sms should be the operator's problem,
i've been having such issue not only with TP2.....not all the time but usually consecutive sms with only one person usually caused it
i have the same problem, tried hard resets rom flash but no success!
i am from austria!..
please somone fix that thing
after HR yesterday evening no more missed sms until now, no one I had notice of. but that doesn't make me feel safe, it needs to be checked further.
surely gunggu is true!
sorry, probably ot, but i have the opposite problem.
I have too much sms in the incoming folder: I can see my sent sms. That means an sms like (me: hi bla bla..)
the received notification is disabled. any hint?
so after some tests, I figured out my problem.
It was the programm proxy cab, that I used. If it is installed, I got only every second sms, after it is deinstalled I got every sms...
Strange problem.
Hey there people all much smarter than me. I just bout a HTC touch pro 2 (i know 2009 called and wants their phone back) anyway i am having this problem of some sms messages not getting through. i have not been able to see a pattern due to not finding out about missing messages till sometimes weeks after i missed getting them
if anyone found a solution thats not alreay mentioned in this thread (cant find an option to save stuff to the sim)(cant find mention anywhere of "program proxy cab"
any help would be great otherwise i will have to go back to using my HTC tytn 2
Hi all,
I rooted my Grandpa's phone and installed MIUI ROM. Now, whenever he gets a call or misses a call, it does not show up in the call history. Both the call history and missed call log show empty no matter the number of calls or time. I have looked through settings and menus and can't find a fix. I rebooted, restored, and emptied caches and can't find a fix. Please help quick if you can because he needs to remember numbers for his business and can't find them because the history is empty. I have googled and can't find anything so any help is appreciated!
Thanks

I really have no clue, haven't seen that before. Did you do a full wipe with cualkin's format all before flashing? You might ask over at the MIUI Dev forums.
thats weird... it worked fine for me. Maybe try reinstalling, and making sure to wipe everything.
I'm having the same problem...my MIUI was working just fine until recently. Now, my phone call log is cleared even when I make a call. Same applies to text messages..I can receive and read text messages when they pop up...but it does not save them. Seems the sms/call logs are not being saved..any fix?
Ok. Figured it out. Visitor mode is on. Hold down power, and press visitor mode, everything should come back.

Maybe there should be a notification icon for visitor mode...
edit: century post
I've noticed an issue on my Galaxy Nexus (Stock Rooted 4.0.4, VZW) where randomly a text message will disappear.
I don't have any idea what is causing it and its so sporadic, it happens maybe once every 1,000 texts.
The only way I know I'm even missing a text is if I see it appear in the notification bar but not be there when I go into the messaging app (Using stock messaging) or, because I have mightytext installed, I'll see the message forwarded to my browser but I'll notice its gone from my phone.
I was able to pull a logcat after it happened most recently, so if someone thinks they would be able to decipher some information from it, let me know.
I'm posting because I'm wondering if I'm the only one seeing this issue or if others are in the same boat.
Thanks in advance and let me know if anyone would like some more info...I've been trying to nail this thing down for months now.
You're welcome to put it up on pastebin or something and post it, but I would first eliminate MightyText as the first possible problem. Uninstall it and see if it still happens.
I had the same problem when still on 4.0.2 stock, unrooted. Only ever used the stock messaging app. It happened very sporadic, with the same symptoms you described.
Messages popped up in notification bar but could be nowhere to be found in messages app.
Since upgrading to 4.0.4 it never happened again, or at least I didn't notice.
As you are on 4.0.4 already, that's probably not comforting.

Yeah, it happens so infrequently that I'm not surprised you haven't noticed it since updating, but nice to know someone else has the same issue.
Do you have mighytext installed or can we rule that out as a culprit?
Do you have any SMS Backup applications installed?
If not, I recommend the "SMS Backup +" by Jan Berkel.
Works amazing on my ICS.
Does backups of SMS, MMS and Call Logs (if you want.)
Yes, I do have that installed, but thats not really relevant to the issue I described here.
Thanks.

Sorry - I realized I never finished my train of thought. Got "distracted" as someone walked into my office.
To continue, when your texts disappear from your phone, do they also disappear from your Gmail SMS label?
As per every 1000 texts - I assume you get a TON of texts per day?
I ask - because my cousin who is a promoter also gets/sends 1000's of text messages a week, and he made a funny comment yesterday about how some of his incoming texts "vanished."
He doesn't have SMS Backup+, so I couldn't verify it for him at the time. I'm wondering if you and him have the same problems?
Regards,
var
I also have SMS Backup + installed, but not Mighty text. When a disappearing text arrived, it never even had a time to kick in, even though I'm on wifi and it's said to backup upon arrival. The text is just gone, right after the notification vanishes.
But hard to investigate as it happens really very sporadic... And yup, I get hundreds of messages each day in a developing country, where sometimes also sms are not delivered, so everybody knows and it's not that big of a problem.

Anyone know what my issue is or is there a setting somewhere that can fix my incoming call issue. I have searched everywhere but couldn't come up with anything. So if i can explain this as easy as possible: when i receive calls, sometimes the incoming calls come up in the wrong format, meaning,it's supposed to show up as +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx or (xxx) xxx-xxxx but most of the times i get +xx-xx-xxxxxx . It tells me im getting calls from all over the place like New Zealand, Saint-Martin etc... which is not the case. What bugs me is that i cannot call back if i missed the call unless i dial it back . I've already factory reset and changed sim card but still have this issue (which is random btw). Called in Bell's tech support and they have no clue. Im on stock JB.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Same issue
I have the exact same issue, and I am using the latest synergy rom, but I havent been able to find a fix.
