ENG S-OFF / Radio S-OFF - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can somebody tell me what the diffrence is?
I have ENG S-OFF , can I flash radio??

when u boot into fastboot recovery, if it says ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF at the the top its radio S-OFF and u can flash ROMS, if it says ACE PVT ENG S-OFF u can flash radio's too but be careful with radios as they can brick ur device

The ENG 0.76 hboot is the engineering hboot, it has s-off by default on it. Once you upgrade it will turn off.

ENG HBOOT

Are there a ENG HBOOT available for the Marvel or Marvelc? I'm about to S-OFF and I was wondering if we had a ENG HBOOT.
We do but its lost somewhere in this section. I'm going to go look for it.

HBOOT Questions

I feel like I ask a lot of these, but for being such a small thing, HBOOT is pretty complex.
So my first question is, in HBOOT, what is the difference between PVT and EVT1? I currently have 2 WFS and both are Marvelc. The HBOOT of the older Marvelc says:
Code:
MARVELC EVT1 SHIP S-ON RL
The other HBOOT says:
Code:
MARVELC PVT SHIP S-ON RL
The HBOOT of the older one is 1.09.0000, the HTCDev HBOOT for unlocking. The HBOOT of the newer phone is 1.10.0001, the bootloader from the newest FOTA update.
Another question I have is can 1.10.0001 be S-OFF'd or am I out of luck with S-OFFing my phone now? I know I can use bltool and superversion and what-not, but I've never had much luck with that.
Hboot questions
Yes, you can S-off Hboot 1.10 but Hboot 1.09 is better in my opinion. When I started flashing Roms with Hboot 1.10 and I would go back to stock my wifi would always show error and no one has figured that out yet. Best way to go back to Hboot 1.09 is to run football's RUU for the Marvelc, once it is running go to the temp folder and copy the ROM.zip wherever you want it. Close everything and then open the ROM.zip and extract the recovery, boot, system to the folder where fastboot is. Make sure you have USB debugging before turning off your phone. Turn off your phone, pull the battery out once it's off and put it back in, hold vol down and power, then highlight fastboot and do the following:
(if you are already rooted make sure you wipe the dalvik-cache before flashing and after flashing a factory reset)
Open Cmd prompt and do the following:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system.img
You will still have S-off and bootloader will be unlocked as well.
Now flash your custom recovery. Hope that helped out.

I used the goldcard method to S-off my 1.10 and have been able to do everything ive wanted with it aslong as it is MarvelC. But i would use TeamWin for recovery i had problems not being able to wipe completely with ClockMod. Good Luck!

It has been s-off-ed, which is not the same thing with rooting, but it makes rooting much easier.
You need to install a custom recovery. Follow the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751258
Then you need to either install a custom rom, or flash the super su flashable zip to root your current rom.

[Q] HBOOT download

Hi guys,
I'm on HBOOT 0.85 like many of you after AAHK.
Where can I find the latest HBOOT for DHD?
I'm looking for 2.00.029.
As it was a requirement for the Mokee open source ROM.
I was going to flash it in fastboot like so (found here):
fastboot erase cache //optional
fastboot oem rebootRUU //to enter in HTC black screen
fastboot flash zip [zipname.zip] // i.e "fastboot flash zip hboot214.zip"

Is this correct?
No links to hboot downloads?

Usually, updating the bootloader is not recommended unless you have a specific reason for wanting a newer version. And as far as I know, none of those reasons exist on this phone.
