What does this mean? I keep getting notifications that pop up and say Mobile internet traffic this month has exceeded the limit of #.##MBMB. Mine says now 4.08MBMB..
Anybody know what this is? Hope its nothing bad.

I think it means big bro knows you're tethering way too much
We're comin from a pure power source.
I don't tether at all. I've only tried it out a few times and that was months back. On my last bill statement I barely used 1gb of data. Something's up.

Hmmm, streaming a lot? Random app in the background or someone ripping off your wifi or hotspot?
We're comin from a pure power source.
if your using MIUI open up the "Tools" folder on homescreen then click on the monitor app. you can adjust settings there or turn it off completely. The whole Monitor thing is automatically turned on as soon as you flash MIUI ( I think) but doesn't mean anything bad per se.. Unless you have a limited data plan
I figured it all out. I went ahead and turned off mobile traffic since its un needed.

Hi, on my HTC Touch Pro 2, I used the NRG roms and they always came with a software that was able to disconnect the data connection after a certain amount of time that I allocated. This stopped the phone always being connected to the internet. Is there such a software that AUTOMATICALLY does the exact same thing for android Samsung GSii? APNDroid doesn't do this because you have to do select it manually, I need something that does it automatically. Thanks.

Neither of those programs does what I have asked. I want the data connection to automatically stop after a specific amount of time.
Juice Defender can also make this job very good.

OK. I'm using the AccuWeather widget, and I love it, but I wanted it to auto update every hour, so I went to settings, and clicked to change the update time, and I get a pop-up saying there are additional charges if wi-fi is not used. So does that mean when auto updating using my data (edge,3G/4G) I'm going to get charged extra? I'm on an unlimited data plan, so I hope there are no "additional" charges just for using a stock app.
No worries no charge

Cool. I was assuming it means if I auto update without an unlimited plan I would get charged the normal data charge from my carrier. The wording threw me off.

Stock no root latest update..
My speed test results are what seems to be backwards.
On home PC I get the normal 30d 15u on phone its opposite .look at the picture from phone.

Whats wrong? Those are all wifi tests

Notice I said my results should be 30d and 15up.. and that my home non wifi reads correctly.. only my phone shows weird backwards results it seems. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue with the new software or with the app itself. Also my laptop shows 30d 15u.

If your home pc is wired to your router then of course it would tend to be higher. Average wireless speed is slower then wired speed.Try a 5GHz wireles N router and you should see a lot better speeds. Make sure the phone is set to use the 5GHz N protocol.
OK.. so I don't think u guys are reading it correctly..I know wired is faster and I do have a dual n router. There is no way I should be showing 36up load on my service if one I pay for 15max and two my wired and wireless computer only show 15 also.
Phone shows -15down and 36 up ..
Paid servise - 30down 15 up.
Wired connection 30down 15up.
Notice the phone is showing double the upload as I pay for and double what wired shows. Either something is jacked on phone or the app went to crap. If u don't mind test yours and see if the reading is what seems to be backwards on yours.

Those are the fastest uploads I've ever seen! I wouldn't call that a problem I would call it a blessing Try uploading a video (know what size it is) to youtube app and time it. Then do the math and report. Wont be as fast as benchmark because the packets have error correction and such but if it's truly 30 up then you should see at least 20-25up to youtube.
Once i get home ill try one. I think its a bug.. either app or the newest software for gs3.

Try uninstalling the speedtest app and then reinstall. That is odd I've never seen an issue like that before.
Have you tried going to speedtest.net website? You will need a third party browser (for example dolphin) and use a different user agent (PC). Curious to know if its the app itself.

Tried going to browser with ics browser + and when I do PC version it says I don't have correct player installed or what not. Will try a reinstall and see how it goes once I get home.

Try dolphin. And make sure you have flash installed.

That's normal depending on your area and usage / time.. I. E try at midnight vs during the day.
In general you will get faster downloads.. But that's not always the case..
When I'm around my house my uploads are faster.
When I'm at work, 20milea away my downloads are a lot faster

FYI, for the 3rd update in a row Sprint enables Connection Optimizer by default. It is a HUGE battery drainer in the past, and maybe even more so in the JB release. Remember to go into..
Settings --> More Settings --> Mobile Networks --> Connections Optimizer
and uncheck.

But does it stick as disabled when you disable it? I had that problem in LI3 and I ended up freezing it with Titanium Backup.
You have to go to /system/app and delete or rename Connection Manager.apk.
Even if you disable it. It will be turned on again.
That's the Sprint "don't use your unlimited data"
That sh** is all day long scanning for Wi-Fi.

I haven't had the issue of it turning back on. Once unchecked it no longer shows up as a battery hog and no longer turns in my Wi-Fi

Same here. But true it is sprint trying to cheat us from getting internet off 3g. That's why to get back I leave Pandora on all night almost every day. Lol talk about data usage.

It is causing hell on my phone today. Keeps flipping out and flapping my WiFi connection. Just checked it in Better Battery Stats...yep, this is the third worst offender behind screen and media services. And Sprint pushed out a buggy update that won't let people turn it off...
With this and their incredibly stupid removal of Internet Calling, I can see LJ7 being pulled or a fast update being pushed out ASAP.

I find this quite interesting... I get great life leaving it on... I have disabled many other things and restricted my background data but not this... interesting indeed
Oh here is a picture of what I get with it on... ill do some tests in the coming days to verify which setting is better

Yes, use it now (Ulitmate) I have found nothing wrong personally. Mine's set for Data on with screen on, Data off screen off.. I don't have a schedule set or anything (i'm always off and on the phone anyway) does increase the battery life a bit.. Download, try it for a bit.. see what you think overall.
I did use it before, just the light version. it was indeed a battery extender. But now I am using ON(X).

Nope. IMO, battery saving apps like Juice defender burn more battery than they claim to save.

Juice defender WILL help. I get about 24hrs to a charge. It simply disables data/location/wifi when not in use and can be customized to run different ways for different apps
-SlimBean...the bulimic's choice for the Galaxy III
Hope this helps. It's fully customizable and it does wonders. U can train it to learn your wifi and after a while, never touch the toggle again. Use it for games so they don't go online and pick up those annoying ads (if your unrooted). And u can schedule when the net comes on to get emails and so forth when your not touching you phone.

Been using Ultimate from the beginning and if set up correctly is the difference between night and day for battery life. It works very well with no problems whatsoever on my end.
+1 When setup properly it can save a lot of juice. Or turn data off when not needed it will save a little more than using JD. But I rather have JD running so things are seamless. For Streaming audio like Spotify I find setting for enable/screen off works the best.

Be honest and tell people you have an extended battery.
i got a small issue with JD ultimate:
i set it quite correctly i think, but then, it prevents datas from coming to my phone, even when they're enabled.
let me explain better:
i set it so datas are off when screen is off and on when screen is on.
so i turn my phone on, datas take smth like 5 to 10 seconds to enable, everything normal till here, then the small H or G appear meaning i'm connected through 3G, but even then, i'm still offline... i wait, and wait 5 mins, but still, the H or G is visible on top right of my screen but.. no data.
i disable juice defender, restart my phone, didn't solve.
then i uninstall it completely, restard my phone, and everything works fine again...
anyone could help me on this one?
