would anyone tell me how to use data2ext with detailed steps??
If the ROM comes with the script, it automatically sets itself up for use.
Nothing needed.
BTW, CM7 supports A2SD+ in the thread.
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/12205-data2ext/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902395
then does CM7 come with the required script??
It should, it's in the link I've posted.
Or try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12835222&postcount=1893
But instead of the A2SD+ script use the d2ext one.

I don't think the steps can get much easier than this.
but where is the data2ext script?? I cannot find it.
The link was in the post's, but to make it easier for you;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719151
thx for you help.
But the link is for a2sd, not for data2ext...........it is the same???
I seems confuse on the these terms.......
The data2ext, is typically for ROM developers, which they sometimes include automatically in new ROMs.
As far as public distribution, I am not sure of, as I personally don't use it.
Maybe some others can lead you in the right direction.
Well, I wanted to try this, I saw it in DEFY forums and as always I thought this could work for BRAVO too.
I tried and everything is working fine.
Im using now CM7 and ICS CM9 Quarx version with froyo kernel
I'll try later with GINGERBLUR!

I tried also with good results! CM7 + CM9 is a good combo - allows us to have camera working as well as the latest and greatest AOSP. It's amazing how similar the two devices are.
The trick is to correctly allocate the sizes of the 3 ext-3 fsimages based on personal use. 300 mb was way too small for me
This mod definitely has lots of quirks though...if you don't know what you're doing, it might not work.
After downloading files, I would suggest looking at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21401063&postcount=249

if i want camera, i can simply boot into 2ndint. so then i don't have to keep reflashing cm7 if i want a working camera! it's very convenient

I have a library replacement hack to get photo camera working, should be in the next thead down. I'd use the libraries from the latest nightly released earlier today, they're probably better since they were updated since last release.

If you are running alredy CM7 it will be very easy for you.
You can try Multiboot manager instead of doing it manually:

Please try it again.
I tried three roms at a time and worked fine for me.
CM7, CM9 and MIUI.
I will try this rom to see if there is a problem with me.
WR and Pikachu were originally made to be used with 2nd-boot, but that never worked with the Bravo. I've never tried them on multiboot. I don't normally use multi boot due to too much music on my sdcard. That, and I had problems with roms with bugs/glitches they didn't have when installed to the system.
Honestly, WR is buggy as hell. I'd release an update, but I can't get some of the tweaks to work right and there's no radio after installing the updated one. If you want an updated WR, the closest thing is my current nandroid...The only problem is its touch recovery and I've never once tried multi boot with touch recovery.
I suppose I could remove touch recovery up my nandroid later today. It has working Bravia(yes I tested before and after and I made a difference), updated beats audio, 30 step volume, cyanbread framework themeing, brews coffee, the miui explorer from Defy forum, custom framework animations, transparent status bar/notification drawer, walks your dog, and zepplinrox's scripts already ran and set up. It has everything WR had except Go Launcher and Miui apps.
Autocorrect is pissing me off. Miui was Louis, Mohican, and Minuit. And my thumb is sore now.

A little late, but superuser was broken on ICS multiboot. Its fixed on the 0417 release.
Has anyone else been having problems installing multiboot when CM9 is the primary nand rom? It installs, boots to 2nd-system, but nothing works except boot from nand. Selecting anything other than boot from nand gives me the multiboot error screen and I have to reboot. The same zip works perfectly fine with CM7.

A system installed on the sdcard tends to use a bit more battery in my experience. That and the lost gigabyte of sd storage are the only disadvantages of using multiboot.
I will add that some roms have glitches when installed to the sdcard they normally wouldn't have as a nand install. Its a hit or miss when dealing with multiboot sd roms and glitches.
Hello there,
I'm looking for a Sense ROM, but i cannot find anything suitable for me - and i have already tried a lot of them.
First of all i'm looking for ROM that:
* is stable, i don't need any freezes, reboots, etc
* is based on official HTC release
* has integrated Sense 3.0 o newer
* the battery status indicator on status bar has a percentage value on it - not next to, as it looks like 2 icons then and needs more space on status bar,
* has integrated app2sd or sth like that, what allows me to mount ext4 partition on sdcard as /data
* does not integrate a lot of stuff, i can install whatever i need from market
* and yes, i'd like to be able to use latest Google Play without problems
Any suggestions?

Just looking at this one myself. A couple of basic questions if I may:
With the extras that are listed, is there somewhere I can look up what they all do to decide what I might want? and
If I use some of them, do I simply run those files after flashing the rom in Recovery before rebooting?
Never had to add extras before.
Im pretty sure they are zip files so u just download them and boot recovery and install from sdcard.
Always make sure u have a nandroid backup of the rom (just incase)

General thread for the JB CM10/AOSP based rom by cronmod dev team here and the ICS CM9 based rom here.
Check the respective rom sites for a what's working/not working list, features and download links. Discuss general things about the rom here such as a2sd scripts and any issues
As requested by the dev for the ICS rom:
What's NOT working?
Code:
[LIST]
[*]Camera force closes while recording video
[*]Hardware decoding for video playback -> laggy playback of 720p (use software decoding in Mx Player instead).
[*]Home/Search key (use the fix over [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34075493&postcount=131"]here[/URL])
[/LIST]
Anything that isn't said there is working fine. Will update the list if others find anything that doesn't work. Before asking for help do check you have the right hboot and that the md5 is correct after you download the rom. Also make sure you perform a full wipe when migrating to these roms.
Bear in mind that ICS was not made for our devices. Do not expect the stability of GB but the devs have done a great job on this and it is quite stable and quick for daily use.
Installation for CM9 ICS rom:
Code:
[U]Full wipe recommended before each flash from new version and is NEEDED if coming from any other rom.[/U]
Partition SD card so you have less than 1.5gb in sd-ext partition and the rest as FAT32. Gparted is recommended.
Flash the rom from recovery.
Grab m2sd from [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342387"]here[/URL] (credit to dk_zero-cool) and flash it from recovery using whatever options you want (recommended by to choose apps and dalvik).
Wipe cache/dalvik and reboot :)
You can use cron's INT2EXT scripts as well from here and just flash in place of m2sd.
Feel free to ask any questions here but keep the dev threads on topic.
Anyone using the JB rom if you could post a not working list from your tests that'd be great .
Since corey moved on to JB the cron r2 hboot isn't available on the website anymore. The current version of the ICS cronmod rom still fits on to the 183mb system hboot so I thought to put this up here for those that want a bit more space in data
WARNING: The size of the system partition may increase in future so the hboot might not be compatible with future versions of cronmod cm9.
Check md5 before flashing and flash through fastboot using "fastboot flash hboot filepathAndName.img"

Hello,
I flashed this ICS rom just before Yasir took over and I must say I'm happy with it.
It is a bit slower than my previous CM7 rom of course but nothing dramatic, and it somehow seems more stable for some reason (GPS works, for example!).
And I still get a quite big amount of space on data thanks to the cron r2 hboot, which is great!
And I also love the CM9 tweaks.
So overall a good surprise for my first jump from CM7 roms.
But I tested Chrome and discovered it is so laggy it is unusable. Do you guys have the same issue?

I don't need video recording myself so I wouldn't know. But any camera app should work. I've heard good things about ICS Camera on market. Very close to stock camera app as well.
I'm going to be linking my friend this ROM soon-ish (once beta comes out) and she's using a BravoC on Ntelos. What kind of prep would she need to do on the phone before flashing the ROM? Like a wipe script or something to repartition or what? Want it to go as smooth as possible.

I suggest you to use INT2EXT+ with this ROM, take a look HERE.
I noticed that when i install a new app (from the market or an .apk), the system hangs for a while, sometimes it even pop with a system error, but if i select to wait the system then starts to work again, i have installed INT2EXT+ script with a 512 sd-ext partition on a Class 4 8 GB SD card. Could the low SD class can cause this problem? SD read cache is correctly set at 2 MB.
Could you amswer me whats working and whats not working in your cm9 rom? Cant find it

Hello everyone! This is a rom that i've been using a long time now and decided to upload! Its pretty smooth and fast and im pretty satisfied with it...Actualy its a mix of many roms into one...
Working:
Wifi
Gps
Audio
Camera
Headphone
In-call mic
Sd-card
...
Not Working:
Audio Recording
Bluetooth
Video Recording
Kernel:2.6.32_tytung_ics_r3.6
[email protected] #300
Set Nov 17 15:53:34 CST 2012(according to kernel version in settings)
In order to install this rom you need an ext4 partition in your sd card bigger than 1gb...The installation will create a folder named HD2-Sense4.0 in which the rom will be installed..After installation reboot 3 times so the rom settles...It supports magldr,clk,haret...
Im not a developer,im a proud user of hd2 and i like to test things...In this rom i would like to fix the microphone in order to use it in apps like shazaam, gstrings, etc, which gives error "mic is used by another app" but i dont have the knowledge for doing it so any help would be really appreciated...

Lol last xda post
good job sir, waiting for a lite and most bug free sense 4 like this for a long timewill report later couse i'm just flashing the rom
nice!
will play to get everything important (Bluetooth, ...) working.
this seem,s to be the base stone for next daily sense roms (sense 5 is still far from perfection)
wanted to ask more specifics about rom, but I will study it myself
ok,heres a quick report when I try to open tts server the setting app will crash
Solved and deleted.
I can't get it to install, clk 1.5.2.1, ex twrp recovery 2.6.0.0, i get "error executing binary in zip" from recovery.
checked md5 with 2 downloads (8e27c53ebc69d32c769e003d89532486)
I noticed there is no update-binary-installer, and no aroma files, in meta-inf. Not sure if relevant.
It might be my recovery, will change it later and try again.
this rom uses old binary then, you need to use older recovery

I have the same problem. I also tried twrp 2.5.0.5 but still no joy. Someone with a tip which recovery could work? Thanks.

using new update-binary from tytung's rom doesn't work, will try 4ext
Edit; installs using @Xylograph 's (worth a mention) modified 4ext recovery here http://goo.im/devs/Xylograph/Various/Recoveries/NAND
Thanks f0xun0
Edit2; camcorder works with videocam illusion from market, but you have to disable sound recording in settings (tried all available sound settings but none worked)
Excellent job blackphoenix50:good:

Xylo removed the SD version of 4EXT recovery. If you want to find it just google for recovery_4EXT2.2.7_leo_sd.zip. This version works.
Thanks for your rom.
Can we install this rom only sd card as native sd?
I don't install as nand. I have Wp7.8 on nand.
