would anyone tell me how to use data2ext with detailed steps??
If the ROM comes with the script, it automatically sets itself up for use.
Nothing needed.
BTW, CM7 supports A2SD+ in the thread.
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/12205-data2ext/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902395
then does CM7 come with the required script??
It should, it's in the link I've posted.
Or try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12835222&postcount=1893
But instead of the A2SD+ script use the d2ext one.

I don't think the steps can get much easier than this.
but where is the data2ext script?? I cannot find it.
The link was in the post's, but to make it easier for you;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719151
thx for you help.
But the link is for a2sd, not for data2ext...........it is the same???
I seems confuse on the these terms.......
The data2ext, is typically for ROM developers, which they sometimes include automatically in new ROMs.
As far as public distribution, I am not sure of, as I personally don't use it.
Maybe some others can lead you in the right direction.

I used to stick to Baadnewz's ROM of IC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081864), that's really great. And data2ext is a easy way out for large app storage in a lazy way.
In IC v40, I can use the method as in Sibere post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852219&highlight=more+space), deleting the 40a2sd in the flashable zip and run the D2SD installer. It works well in V40.
Now comes to IC V51, I tried the same method but no pull ring comes up in the lockscreen. Even when I get pass the lockscreen with trackpad2unlock, there is no options in the personalization->lockscreen, together with a FC of com.htc.RoiseUtility.
I really want a complete IC V51 ROM with data2ext, can anyone help?
You could try Droidzone supernova data2sd? sorry if this wrong answer, I dont know what IC is

That's Robocik's v2.0 Evolutionary Sense modded with Data2EXT. I know InsertCoin and Robocik's versions are very close as they share resources and code quite often. It's stable as a rock, so that may tide you over?
why dont you just use data++? its much faster

Since my last trial with IC CM7 data++ is not working, space is small and running out fast? Don't know there the problem is.
As the title says is it possible to remove the a2sd script from a ROM... The reason I need to know this is because I would want to try installing the DATA2SD script. The trouble is, in order to install data2sd I have to remove the a2sd script... I would originally ask this on the specific ROM forum but I'm not alowed to post on development related threads, at least not yet (new user)... any ideas or suggestions? thanx in advance
just remove the script from init.d etc. then load ur data2sd theres a thread on here for datasd installing to roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852219
read it then read it again then read it again and then try installing not as daunting as it first reads

I suggest you flash a custom kernel say cake kernel (search it in dev section).
make a ext4 partition (1 GB primary partition) (Can be made with custom recovery)
download link2sd and mount partition
reboot.
I would like to join the question. I've got some kind of stock rooted ROM with Hebrew support. So I still want to use it. I've installed pimp my rom and add init.d support. What can I install now in order to use an EXT partition? I'm looking for something similar to S2E on CM.
Link2SD didn't seem to work up until now.
yes flashing custom kernal will create int.d ... make a second partition... and flash one of this whatever you want...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124 ...
i tried sometime... it doesnt worked for me.. try your luck...i red sometime it will work... if it works tell me,,,,
but sure link2sd will work... try sukhjit321 post above if you want...
I've added init.d support with Pimp My Rom, partitioned and flashed zip with INT2EXT+ with no luck. What I'm missing here?

I may have missed this step, but anyway I've moved to CM7 so everything is working now with S2E.

Hi, I was wondering if there is any chance to use Data2SD on Sandvold's ICS for HTC Desire. I've been trying several options, but it just hangs out on HTC logo.
Thanks in advance.
You need to remove the a2sd script that comes with the rom.
To do this check the following directorys for files related to a2sd, and delete them:
/system/etc/init.d
/system/bin
/system/xbin

I've ran the a2sd killer, but I'll try doing that.
Also there is no special Data2SD installer for Sandvold's ICS ROM. Should I use _GB or _Sense installer after that?
any solutions?

Well... Did you delete the script that comes with the rom as chronium said above?
What exact script are you trying to install? What about trying mounts2sd.

I haven't, I'll do it as soon as someone tells me which installer should I use _GB or _SENSE. Yes, I've tried using mounts2sd, didn't work, data2sd works perfectly for me, and if it can be done, it would be great.:good:
