Yes, the HTC WWE RRUs don't contain mobile operators logos and apps.

Look in the mirror..If you don't have any brand on ur face, then u are unbranded
Sorry..have to say that lol

can i ask another stupid question? My phone WAS Asian WWE, i unbranded it, can i install OTA updates? cuz i tried to update 2.29.405.2 to 2.29.405.5 and i keep getting an error, i used a 2.29.405.5 RUU and now im ok, will i be able to install the gingerbread OTA?

No you can't, if the last OTA was anything to go by

If someone downloads the OTA as a zip or whatever, will us "unbranded" people be able to install it via SD?
I debranded to a stock RUU WWE and have never got any OTA updates (am currently on 2.29.405.5).

Nope probably not. Did you have to use goldcard to install wwe rom? If yes, you probably wont be able to install the update(doesn't matter if it's ota or a zip you get, as it is the same thing ota just automatically makes the bootloader flash the zip). However, there will likely be a new ruu for the newer versions, which you can use instead.
The easy solution? root and flash a custom rom based completely on stock sense, and you can just get the update as a custom update on here.

So, if am unbrand using goldcard, I cannot update using OTA? not even if I download the WWE .zip? So if I Rebrand as my original Asia WWE, I can update?

You have to use goldcard to flash newest wwe version (ruu), otherwise you might get cid error. After ruu flashing has finished, you will be able to update your phone with ota.

Has anyone debranded with RUU WWE and successfully OTA'd?
If so, how?

[Q] Unrooting with official RUU?

Hey,
i just downloaded the official 1.82.405.1 RUU for my permrooted Desire Z, it's factory unlocked, but will i be able to use this? it's an .exe file so i think that if i just run it it'll flash a stock rom, will it brick my phone because of clockworkmod?
thanks
Factory unlocked means SIM unlocked, which is not the same as rooted. You can use the official RUU as long as the CID matches your phone, or you have SuperCID after rooting. But you will lose root, and you cannot root without downgrading to the 1.34 ROM. Bottom line, if you want root, don't upate.
A better option is to flash a rooted version of it. Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960149

Yes, that's true! Forgot about that, it was late at night and my mind was not functioning properly! Virtuous is as updated as you can hope in a stockish Froyo Sense ROM (a few extra features and some optimizations), and pre-rooted!

Unable to get OTA Update on Dedire HD PD98IMG.zip.

WHAT TO DO HOW TO GET OTA UPDATE...??

I dont think official updates are available for a device having Radio S-Off . If you really want the updates, i am guessing you have to go back all the way to stock, S-On. Search this forum for how to do that.
Just as an opinion, instead of going for stock and updates, just use custom roms. Theya are way wayyy better..
the only thing that you need its a WEE OFICIAL RU froyo for obtain the update via OTA, (also you can update your phone from htc sync via usb) its not neccesary do s on or unroot phone

Install WorldWide RUU on a HTC One X from China

Hi, I am really sorry to post such a simple and maybe common question, I just CANNOT find a straight answer.
I have a HTC ONE X 32GB (WW version) I got from China.
I checked the version of the Ruu and it says 1.29.708.9 (HK Ruu)
And the bootloader was unlocked, so i locked it.
I want to return to Stock Ruu cause I cannot update the official version.
I have 2 questions:
1. I am from Israel, so when I return to stock RUU, should i install the HK version like the one that WAS on my phone, or a different one??
-Can I install a different Ruu or it will screw my phone?
2. If i update to the HK Ruu which was originally on my phone, will i get a specific update dedicated to the Ruu or a general one from HTC?, I just want it to be "worldwide" and not really blocked to any updates.
Thanks, sorry for the mess.
Hey there... well as a matter of fact any other RUU will NOT work. You have to get the appropriate RUU for your phone depending on where it is from...
This will NOT block any updates, it's just for languages and local stuff specific for that region, but technically it won't be any different from any other One X.
Also there is no international RUU... every phone MUST have a specific region yours is China and that doesn't make it any different or change anything whatsoever.
Edit : Here is the link to the HK Jellybean RUU http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_299865_signed.exe
Follow the steps on the RUU help threads if you're new to this... This RUU will give you the latest major update. Any other official updates should roll out to you as long as you have the official recovery. If you want the WWE you can get a custom ROM that has it but I doubt that you can get it officially. Good luck with this
I hope I helped
Hi, if you are in ICS, go to stock .
Means you need to restore a stock nandroid back up and its boot img . Then flash stock recovery, and last re lock bootloader. Why? To get official ota manually.

I'm not quite sure what is the Rom i am currently using, it looks like a stock rom that China folks changed to fit in their stupid little programs.
Why do I need to do all that stuff you said?, can't i just install the stock rom like Waseem said?
If your hox is jellybean , yes, there some roms stock look, also i can make you one with no modifications or tweaks...but....if your firmware is ICS, you need to update, and for that i recommend you to update via ota.

Hey I appreciate it, but I simply want to make my HOX fresh and clean from bull that was installed by Chinese folks and get a stock rom that updates by itself.
I downloaded Waseems RUU which he said was the latest for my version of HOX.
I already made my bootloader "Relocked" because it said to do so on some guide.
Now, Do i need to flash stock recovery? or just install the RUU?
Sorry i'm a bid confused.
This is my machine:
Android 4.0.3
Software #: 1.29.708.9
HTC SDK API LEVEL: HTCExtension_403_1_GA_7
Please give me some quick advise, this shouldn't be too hard, but it messes with my head.
Also, do I need to make some sort of cleaning to my phone before installing the RUU?, or the RUU installations does it by itself?
You need ICS latest ruu for our firmware. Cant install JB over ICS.
SkyDragon© You Are Not Allow To Lick My Banner, Stay Away!
What is JB?
I have the latest RUU which Waseem posted earlier. But do I need to install dtock recovery for it? Or somehow clean my device before installing the RUU?

What he means is that you can NOT install a 3.14 based ruu, you need to install a 1.29 or a 2.17 ruu. The hboot difference is to big !
Edit :
Download this one
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...89-radio-1120410414-release-259897-signedexe/
Relock the bootloader if its unlocked and execute the ruu with admin rights. This will bring the phone to full factory stock. Note that it will wipe EVERYTHING !
After the ruu you reboot and do all the official ota's you can get....
Holy cow.. now I get it. The Ruu Waseen gave me is jellybean (jb) .
Ok cool thanks.
But still. How do I determine if i need to install stock recovery before installing ICS stock ruu?
Because I accidently Relocked the hboot before flashing the stock recovery.
Also, all links to stock ruus are broken, wherecan I download ICS stock Ruu?
I seriously appreciate your help guys

You only need to install the 1.29 ruu with admin rights and a relocked bootloader. It will flash it all back. Then do official ota to the 2.17 software....etc etc....until you cant go higher anymore. Latest software should be at least 3.14 ...

Hey sorry I thought you had the JB Hboot... here is the 1.29 RUU for HK http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_2.1204.122.17_release_268338_signed.exe
flash it and it should restore the stock ICS software to your HOX. then go to Settings > About > Software updates and you should then get the official JB update which will update your Hboot, Radio and ROM to the JB base 3.x
I forgot if you have to flash the stock recovey and re-lock before flashing stock RUU but I don't think you do. I guess if you flash the RUU it should relock your phone and flash stock recovery and boot.img by itself But please to be safe just make sure this is true.
A ruu does not lock the bootloader, you have to do that yourself. The only thing a ruu does is flash back the stock recovery, boot.img and software.
You relock the bootloader in fastboot mode
Fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the bootloader and right click on the ruu and select
Run as administrator
Edit....the first ota you will get is the ics 2.17 software, then you will get a small update and after that you get the 3.14 jellybean update. You do not get the jellybean instantly.....

I did everything you said, now i have a different problem
I cannot open the RUU file you told me to download (the installer).
I had that problem on my other PC and then downloaded JAVA and it worked.
On this laptop I downloaded java, and it still doesn't load the installer.
It opens a COMMAND windows, and closes it. nothing happens.
I run it as admin and verything.
I am using Windows 7 32bit :\
Any idea?

But it doesn't open the file you gave me, which is 300MB
and waseems is the same name but 550MB.
what is the difference???/?

Just checked the one i linked, you had a broken download. The one i linked is around 580 mb !

Vodafone UK? What was the original CID and Version number? VODAP001 and x.xx.161.x ?
COLLECTION of Stock backup's has nandroid backups for both 1.12.161.17 and 1.54.161.5 . The stock recovery is also at that thread though it's only for the 1.54.161.5.
I see it's TWRP nandroid backups though, so hopefully you already have TWRP recovery on. Then just download the nandroid backups, unzip it into the SD card backup folder for TWRP i.e TWRP/Backups/serialnum/ Just replace serialnum with your device serial number and restore nandroid backup. It'll then take you to 1.54.161.5 if there's a new OTA for it then just apply and you have latest then. Just make sure to flash back stock recovery before you attempt OTA.

Yeah you can basically "convert" it to any though you probably won't always get the OTA updates. You'll probably have to end up flashing the OTA update's .zip file from within RUU. I think you'll be fine for OTA's if you do it for example, dev edition, unlock edition, international WWE version, they get updates from HTC itself, the carrier specific OTA's will probably have to be flashed. I say probably because I haven't converted to and from any carrier specific device myself.
But yeah, if you're S-OFF and supercid you can flash just about anything. Careful though... Else the next thread we'll be discussing in is "HELP!!! I THINK I BRICKED MY PHONE!!!!!!" :cyclops:

There is no need to change your MID unless you are planning to change over to a developer edition. Stock firmware already includes stock recovery. I don't see that you have stock ROM listed.

Oh, I thought you just wanted it back to stock to return for repairs. To receive OTA updates, I believe the CID of your phone must match the CID of the firmware/Stock ROM you are flashing. I don't believe you need to change the MID but it might not hurt. Flash Stock ROM first, the Firmware.
Thought I'd post in here seeing as I'm in the UK so get everything about ROM versions, etc...
There are no RUUs available for the M8 bar a few US carrier ones. It sucks but there are other way around it, and with you being S-OFF you have a lot of options. One is to convert the phone to 100% stock, EU, unbranded but Vodafone will then refuse repair so you'd be stuck paying for it. The other is to use the stock backups on here to go back to the Vodafone build, but if you've flashed a different FW build this will also fail repair if checked.
Regarding the MID, all EU handsets have the same one so you don't ever have to worry about changing it at any point
If you can find one of the Vodafone OTA updates I can knock something up for you but I don't remember seeing anyone posting one...

What do you mean by "new" firmware? The latest T-Mob firmware, or the brand new 3.28 (Android 4.4.4) firmware?
For the latter (3.28) than NO. You can't modify the partitions (hboot, radio, etc.) in question by unofficial means without S-off.
If you mean the former (latest T-Mob firmware) then yes, you can update by official means. Either relock the bootloader and run the latest RUU. Or return to stock ROM and recovery and update by OTA.

I saw your posts on the ARHD, and if you modified the firmware zip in the past, in theory it should work the same for the 3.x firmware version.
Although it should be said that modifying firmware is potentially risky; as any errors that occur with flashing hboot or radio can result in a brick. Only tinker around if you know what you are doing, and willing to accept the consequences if things go wrong.
Safest course would be to wait for an official T-Mobile firmware to deploy; or flash a firmware verified by other T-Mob users to work.
